You don't need to be a professional script writer to discern quality writing from drivel. You just need to be decently literate and have read a few books from good authors, and not just YA shonen manga.

Initially I wanted to say this is how much space WoL has in this story, but to be fair it's pretty much correct for all Scions no matter how much I'd adore them or not.

Worth to mention this is the scene of my deepest despair and initially WoL and Wuk Lamat stand side by side in it, yet somehow someone decided it's a good idea for Wuk Lamat to step in front of WoL like we are shown here.

Please let us know how we are wrong? I'd really like to hear how my own personal feelings when and after playing this MSQ are wrong - since I really, really wanted to be invested and captured by FF XIV storytelling. And since you seem to be in favor of Wuk Lamat, perhaps you should first try to understand us and where are we coming from, since this topic was pretty much shoved into any dialogue throughout the Dawntrail :)

It's also the 3rd expansion in a row we get the "everyone works together scene". the talos one was a blast. The EW one, despite feeling like déjà vu was well recieved because it refered to everything you've done in the game up until now.

The DT feels like a bad rip-off of the ShB one, and has no redeeming qualities. And I'll not even talk about the insert song during that sequence...

In my opinion, it's like Wuk Lamat can be replaced with any character, ranging from Scion member to a dude giving you levequests. It's like her character is only...loud and naive, even more naive than pre-Heavensward Alphinaud in my opinion. Hell, even if she was removed, we might not even see the difference. But at least she is not a full-blown Mary Sue, I guess, but almost though.

Personal opinion on the story after literally forcing myself to go through it and finishing the last trial - rock bottom had a cellar.
If I ever see Wok Lmao again, I will become a true story skipper.

Oh really? I mean she is naïve and dumb, but she can do just about anything she kinda is a Mary Sue - but she has a sea sickness... and yet any problem can be solved with her big heart and story somehow allows it even when it makes no sense whatsoever. I think that what's worse than Wuk Lamat, sort of, is a story that desperately attempts to validate her and her world views. It'd be fun to watch her face Garlemald and have Black Rose dropped on Tural, good luck loving that.

So everyone who played the game is aware of how brutal world of FF XIV can be, and yet, they force this theme of big heart conquers all. Do not get me wrong, I'd dig this sort of narrative if done well, but in this case it felt like someone is forcing it into me with a fist.

Looking at steam it has 1398 Reviews 64% are positive, the ones that are negative are met with "this review is funny" or a clown emote, there is most definitely more than 1398 players in this game and not everyone plays on steam. This forum, is quite literally a minority of toxic negativity, someone mentions something positive about the game your "kind" come out of the woodwork like a bad rash.

Honestly I don't get it, it can't be good for your mental health to wallow in all this negativity you're only pulling yourselves into the hole of hatred, whilst simultaneously trying to pull others in with you, just do everyone including yourselves a favour and find something else to do, you'll feel better I promise!

By this logic you have to be an author to be an English lit professor? No. Some people do or have read enough literature (not fan fiction or cheap romance novels) in their life to understand good writing. There are plenty of books I don't enjoy, but that doesn't make them bad writing. There is writing I enjoy that I can admit isn't good literature, but I find it funny.

I think the story has issues, but WL is a product of those issues. Are people blaming this one character maybe for other reasons? Maybe. But making her into some morally perfect character doesn't help. It feels fake and like a departure in some ways. Most of the characters in this series have been morally grey, but not WL? Even the WoL has been shown to be imperfect on occasion. There are other issues I have with other characters as well, issues I have with how the Scions were used in this story, etc.
