Lottery is not the problem, Ahri. Problem is the really poor housing supply caused by SE choice of how to implements housing and thems stubborn refusal to entertain ideas on how to alleviate problem. At this point Mao thinkings SE mights be deliberately fueling a class system within the game. If is true, Mao nots quite sure why thems doing it.
You said it yourself. If that is in fact what they are doing(and I hope it isn't), it's because of stubborn and conservative Japanese culture which is something we have seen come up the in the past. I think Occam's Razor allows us to say the most probable cause is lack of server space for whatever reason but we don't really know. They could just be dangling a carrot in front of players so we all keep our subs going instead of losing houses that would be impossible to get back (which is also really scummy but it would be smart of them to hide that fact). Yeah, I have no clue what the answer is. Only SE knows.
hm... another housing bidding round, another loss in the future. *sigh*
Mao wishing much lucks to Kali and Ahri! Mao really wants hear some good housings news for a change!
Wishing you all luck! <3 And still hoping someday that SE will actually deal with the lack of supply so everyone who wants a house can have one!
I was hopeful something meaningful would be shown during the Japanese fan fest-housing related, not even a hint.
No new housing area, nothing about more Wards, not even improvements to the housing UI.
Disappointed.
Godspeed, Bidders.
If they ever release new housing wards... they should only for service accounts that don't own a house. If the goal is to get housing into the hands of as many players as possible, that's how you do it. Round 1 and 2 of the lottery is for "homeless" players only. Then it is open to everyone. At that point, people that want housing have it. And if you want to take that chance of rolling on a large instead of a 0 bid medium, that's on the player.
You just have a really angry take. I will up you one.
How about the only houses homeless people can enter lottery for are smalls? Then, after getting a small, you can enter the lottery for a medium. Then, after getting a medium, you can enter lottery for a large. I spent a couple years getting a medium and I would never relinquish it to get *checks current numbers* less than 3% chance of getting the worst available large. No thank you.
Why?
Certain larges are more desirable, it's a simple fact. Should everyone just be automatically stuck with whatever house they first managed to snag because relocating at all is some horrifying "slap in the face" as you put it? They still have to pay the gil, they still have to get lucky against incredible odds, just like everyone else.
It's not like its even a problem besides just delaying the bidding cycle by one week-ish. In the event you described, it literally means there's now that Goblet large open now, so the net total of larges open on a bidding cycle hasn't even changed.
Heck, relocation as a whole doesn't change the amount of bidding-potential homes for people without one in circulation. For every house that relocates, another one is opened up.
I really fail to see the issue.
Let us see, what tomorow brings. It's deffinitly a loss.
And as predicted! A LOSS! :D
Yeah. It's appauling. Legitimatly.
Housing market is so small compared to the need of it. and just wait and see and we'll have a few people go ''But it's a luxury, not everyone is meant to have a house bla bla bla'' .-.
It's legitimatly horrible.
SE needs to do something.
Maybe just maybe just move to Dynamis if you want a house this badly ? You were on Balmung and you literally moved to Mateus to join your friends IIRC which obviously is perfectly fair and normal, but moving to Mateus will not help for housing AT ALL, it's basically balmung but for RP while balm is for... other activities
It was not going to help you get a house in any actual realistic way, it's the same thing as Balmung, the exact same thing
It's like yall dont understand and think they actually want to fix it, they dont, it keeps people like me with multiple accounts subscribed every single month of the year, and I am far from the only one, and it even keeps people subscribed all year long with a single house, it's a money move, do you really think they couldnt add more wards if they wanted to ? If they wanted to, we could have 60 wards by tomorrow ready to be bid on, they dont want that, they want the scarcity, they want people to spend months if not years bidding on larges, in the meantime they stay subscribed.
That's why I always laugh when people rage at me for saying that housing is a luxury and that larges are made to be extremely rare, I get responses like "yeah you're gatekeeping !!!! selfish !!! imagine caring about having a house !!!"
The fact is, SE agrees with me that housing is a luxury and that larges are not meant to be for everyone, I dont have to do anything myself, or say anything, SE does it by themselves, they dont need me, they make the rules.
They WANT it to be that way, this is the way they intended it to be, the best you might get is some sort of housing mirage which seems to be mostly removable columns in houses and "maybe" change the size but that hasnt been confirmed as it seems people have translated that wrongly, that's all you'll get, they wont change housing, either you move to a different world with more availability, or you can keep banging your head agaisnt the wall, with the xbox players a few months away, expect those numbers to go up as well, most of them wont go to a dead DC like Dyna.
Well cool. They are alienating an entire community of people and cementing an extremely bad taste for anything related to Square Enix. That's on them; That's part of Yoshi P's legacy, regardless of how small of a tarnish it is, and I hope he feels ashamed of what he is doing, if only a little.
