I am so sorry.
I am so sorry.
You have the worst luck.
The only thing I hate more than Birb Savage is Birb normal. When I gave freshly 90 GNB a spin in some normal raids, I got P3N and had a WAR that immediately put on stance and I was like "OT time! Perfect, I'll throw my mitigation on the MT and watch out for repositionings"
MT pokeballs not even 15s into the fights and I was left to solo tank the cursed chicken, including the add phase and running a marathon around the platform to make sure their corpses don't overlap. Fun times.
And on the topic of normal raids...
I love roping unassuming DF folks that only want to do a "quick normal raid roulette" into Eden raids because I only have Eden and Asphodeles unlocked on my alt. I got e7 and it starts with
"oh shit no, not this one"
"apologies in advance to the healers"
"fml I suck at this one"
13 Resses from my Sage and 10min later (plus 4 resses from my co heal) and we cleared it. More than half the raid got nuked when they stacked the stack marks. When I saw the other marker running towards us, I stacked all my mitigation and shields because I knew what was coming and survived with low 3 digits, chain ressed everyone and couldn't help but grin when colors came up and I knew someone was getting yeeted.
And someone ported off the platform, also a classic.
Awe old thread gone? Well first post of EW just did a Zod normal and well it just kinda speaks for itself, dude had a crafter ring, 430 left side, lvl 18 bracers, lvl 5 ring, lvl 50 (ilvl 70) neck. I just can't sometimes.

Bad
Had someone playing sage that told me 'sages can't do full pulls in the The Dead Ends'.
They couldn't even handle healing during the first boss and left on their own, even when trying to give them tips about using Esuna when they kept getting hit by the Necrosis debuff.
I've done sage there and I've never had an issue healing full pulls. They also were sync'd down from their ilvl...
Glad
Had a full group of 7 people 'pick on me' for always being in a chocobo suit by calling me KFC and they kept offering me chocobo food. That was a fun run, kweh~
Be me, queuing as NIN for a Mhach raid. Pop into Dun Scaith.
Deathgaze goes about as expected - lots of deaths, but no wipe. Same for Ferdiad.
Then we move on and wipe to, of all things, Proto Ultima. A bunch of people died (I have no idea what killed them) and we failed the DPS check. That was the first time I've ever seen that happen.
Later we also wiped to Diabolos Hollow, but it's mostly the Proto fight that stands out in my mind.
Wait, its possible to wipe to proto? Like, WIPE wipe? All 24 people dead? Even though the fight gives each party 2 LB3s? I dont remember wiping to that slot(proto or the old removed mini) even when it was brand new. Every other boss? Sure, at least once. But never that.
I also love in P3S when a reaper teleports in the wrong direction and immediately zips back... having passed through the tank tether when they exited their portal. Thus picking it up, and landing right in the middle of the party with said tether in time to kill themselves and everyone else.
It was such a "WTF" moment no one in the PF group could even be mad, we were all just laughing. "Most reapers just hurl themselves into the death wall by mistake, but you managed to pick up the death and bring it back to the entire party instead. Honestly, I'm impressed."
On my smol murdercat raid-alt, I used to only have Mhach, Ivalice, and YoRHa raids unlocked for alliance. On the plus side, no Crystal Tower! On the downside, as said murdercat was a tank main at the time, her solo alliance roulette queue was often around two hours.
I finally gave up and unlocked Crystal Tower on her.
Man, if only the CT clearance wasn’t adjusted back in 5.3, I would kill to raise my alt all the while ignoring that raid series. I’m starting to not do roulettes few days in a week thanks to how sickening it is to almost always land in the 1 from 2 same raid from 12 possible opts.
Rerunning P1N to P4N for weekly tokens (because glam is endgame...!!). What luck I've amassed to win everything in 1-2 runs each floors comes at a price... for some semblance of my healer's sanity meter. One thing that all runs have in common is that none of my co-healer were smarter beyond pressing their 3-4 most basic healing spells against any instance of damage.
- No raidwide in beginning of P1N/P3N? It's alright, let's start with Succor/E.Prognosis/Medica II. Gotta crowd everybody's buff bar when all other's raidwide buff are active, too!!
- I weaved in Protraction+Excog for a tank? Noo 50% is scary! *drops Asp Benefic THEN Benefic I spam*
- I dropped an Earthly Star to let it go supernova a bit later? *Sees that Medica II cast bar on that co-WHM*. Excuse me, 20y and they still can't see all those shiny effects??
- My Kerachole and Physis II was still ticking? Nah, too slow man. *Prepares to spam Succor*
- Nevermind my Microcosmos, Consolation veils, Panhaima, and Asylum. Prognosis spam is way better, right?
- Lilybell is due to pop before next instance of raidwide damage? But faster heal means safer, right? *Physuck for you, Physuck for him, Physuck for her, Physuck for everybody!* (Now get into another run, replace those Physuck with Diagnosis)
There was only one exception, which was a SCH I got paired in one of the P2N run who still actively casts Broil after finishing each of their Succor/Adlo-galore. But to nobody's surprise, 5m into encounter they were running very dry on mana.
Thankfully that was probably the last glam piece I wanted from Pandaemonium Normals. I shouldn't need to go through that anymore.. right? Right..??
Sounds like every normal raid/ trial ever. So no, you'll never ever be released from going through that.
Shame that DC travel won't let me travel to NA centres, I'd be happy to nuke away while letting all those other skills do the work. My personal pet peeve is prepull Medica II. At least Succor/ EProg lasts 30s and has a good chance of catching the first aoe if the boss has one - but Medica II? 100% useless "Look! I know that I chose healer! See? I used a HEAL! I'm paying attention, guys!".
I have a new minigame: heal damage right away with my free heals (works especially well on SGE) and watch my co heal get progressively more aggressive with their Medica II/Regen/ Cure II/ RaptureRaptureRapture spam. They eventually run out of MP and can only watch helplessly how much their aggressive Medica II was never needed.
Kindly reminder: in the Diabolos Hollow fight of Dun Scaith, please make sure your tank has their stance on, or at least one of the tanks has their stance on.
Just got out of a Scaith raid that was doing so ungodly well that when Diabolos Hollow decided to drop in on the party, everything just went to garbage. All tanks turned their stance off and dps/healers were eating tankbusters/autos and dying. I saw 3 healer lb3s go out in one single fight, only for the healers to get munched on.
I remember doing exactly just that, minus the intention. It was back at 5.4 in E11N. (I tried to check my post history but I couldn't find it, I guess I never actually posted it before huh...)
At the end of the run I bolt out quickly (as usual) only to be told by my friend, the co-WHM I was paired of said something in party soon after I left. The screenshot belongs to my friend who stayed longer in the instance to wait for his loot:

Sadly, they probably failed to even realize how unneeded their aggressive healings were.
Reminds me of that SGE that told me off on SCH for using too much AF on e6 and they had to "solo heal".
I healed more than twice as much as them while spending a grand total of 2 AF on healing in addition to keeping all oGCDs rolling because clown fiesta didn't really allow me to use it for ED while they ignored the majority of their toolkit and ran out of MP from back to back EProg spam and only ressed once or twice, leaving multiple hard raises to me. Which is fine, I had fun. I love chaos.
But it's always the "low dps, useless healing" healers that have the audacity to complain about "solo healing" and their co heal not playing properly.
Self-awareness seems even less common among DF healers than the mindset of wanting to be useful.
Oh, and the intention is what makes this minigame fun :p
Worry not oh stalwart one for now that they hath vanquished Normal mode they will be there. Ohhh they will be there in your aim to clear party. They will be there putting clear for friend (I am the friend) party up. Progging ads? No you are not silly willy one.
"They are already there
Take a look around
They are the Medica II spam in your hair
They are the corpse on the ground
They are the fart in the wind
And they will be there until the end"
I'm the bad person here lol. I'm leveling my ACN baby so I can get the dang job stones. Was too lazy/inv too full to even bother with gearing up at level 20, so I decide to do some PoTD to get myself to 30. Completely forgot that more than half of the kit is missing for ACN, my physick heals were only at 300, I barely damaged anything. I felt so bad lol. I must've apologized about a hundred times, thankfully since it's potd (and floor 51) the run was smooth. Booted my butt back down to baby level though.
When I do this I do it for various reasons. One of them is to just be silly. Other times to make you less lonely. Also depending on the BLM it's the only bloody way they're going to get healed cause them ley lines are out in Narnia compared to the rest of the group.
That sounds like the MT trying to do the correct thing and doing the tank door/meteor cause no one else is while forgetting or not knowing/caring that isn't such a good idea for the MT doing. The other part is the other tank's healers not paying attention that their tank is now the MT or felt like MTing for one whole fight. At least that's what happens whenever I try to MT or have to take over being MT and it's a boss that either hits hard or has a nasty debuff like Cloud of Darkness's bleed. I died once cause I had one dead healer and the other healer put faith in the other four healers putting any type of thought in healing me while they raised people. Then some idiot in Alliance chat felt the need to complain about the tanks.
Boop! We have reached peak FF14 as tanks are now single pulling the ads in Labyrinths of the Ancients. Do not know who or where or why but by the twelve please fricken stop doing this.
Friend may have gone toxic and tanked the rest as Sage. Yes, they had current job level 85 and Paladin at 90.
Had a WAR tank in Qitana that kept pulling mobs out of my Doton. When I wrote in party chat the dirt on the ground is mine and if he could please leave the mobs inside he unironically replied that it's generating too much aggro and that I keep stealing mobs with it.
Yes, mobs occasionally turned around.
But how about hitting those aoe combos instead of taking all the mobs for a walk? If mobs that sit right on your lap keep hitting one of the dps for several GCDs, you're doing something wrong. Seriously wrong. Especially when gear has nothing to do with it because they already wore EW stuff.
Played a Sage with my friend that was a Bard, we were in Tower of Babel and the WARRIOR tank kept spamming "Kardia!"
A Warrior tank was crying for Kardia and when I move the Kardia to a DPS that is low on HP, the Warrior cries: "KARDIA!"
Bitch, you're a Warrior you don't need Kardia!
Ran 7 Dun Scaiths since yesterday trying to catch up a bit on irregular tome farm... all runs were smooth as butter, it's almost too good. I even tried to bait people during Deathgaze's Blizzard IV into pushback mechanic with surecast available for giggles without too much success.
Now I'm worried that I might've used up all my luck elsewhere in the future...
So I learned something new today in Dun Scaith.
If someone has the stack marker and people group up but you're too far away, and somehow the person that has the stack marker dies, the next target is chosen from the available list, typically if you're too far from the rest of the group.
I learned this since I was no where near the person who had the Shriek stack marker, they died from an auto, and Diabolos decided to slap me for my incompetence and cowardice by making me the next target with his best Dio impression.
man, the tank I had in babil just now was... I don't even know
not that he didn't seem to mitigate till he was at 50% health, he also used nascent on other players? even full health me??? and lost aggro to my friend???? and then somehow started eating so much damage I had to gcd heal him as every single ogcd was depleted... during the pull before the first boss
I'm so confused
I farmed World of Darkness for 3 days to get a chestpiece for glam.
Then I went into my glamour dresser and realized I had a better outfit for my glam.
3 days wasted...
Aw that's thoughtful (on wanting to make blm less lonely).
Though I was always in mid ranged because I have a healer mindset more than anything else.
There was one time I pop Ley Lines in melee due to expecting a mechanic and the healer still actively runs into it.
"In the future" usually means you'll have the worst DF luck for the next few days.
Speaking from experience.
And speaking of used up DF luck.
Babil run, started with the healer being not amused with the tank because they didn't mitigate, constantly ran out of Doton and Sacred Soil, ran around with all mobs at the oddest time, splitting the pulls and making aoes miss half of the mobs and eating aoes, making the healer really work for it. The healer spoke up about mitigation and running out of ground targets and the tank just replied with "do it yourself".
The other NIN... breathed, I guess? They single targeted in wall to walls, stood around auto attacking and got out-dpsed by our healer who had to GCD spam just to keep the tank alive and barely had time to dps.
I offered to go 2nd with TA for bosses, didn't see a single TA though so I just asked if they don't use it at all so I know when to use mine
"no, i'm busy reading the funny party chat :3"
So I asked that if they could please use their aoes while reading.
"maybe... if I feel like it"
Apparently they did not feel like it because it was clear from their dps that they still used their single target skills while being semi-afk.
What. The. Actual. Fork.
Another tank chain pulled while also not mitigating and our healer constantly ran low on MP because they couldn't get out of combat and I didn't get to reset my Mudra, so I asked "can you let us finish a pull before pulling the next set, please? so the healer can get mp back and I can reset my Mudra out of combat"
The reply?
"lol stop crying you're just a dps"
Did e6 for my sticker album, co heal didn't dps at all and constantly spammed aoe heals until they didn't even had enough MP to ress, so I took the resses and hard-ressed several times. They died to a mechanic right after my Swift ress went out for someone else, I waited for the whole conflag movement to be over so I could hard ress in peace.
"healer???" - "how about you actually RESS???" - "stop dpsing and ress-.-" was what I got from them.
Then I went Babil on SCH.
Tank died on the big pull before the boss from, again, not mitigating and wrote "single pulls, I guess ... -.-".
I don't know what was up with DF today but one group was worse than the next.
I'm so done with DF. It was the first time in many, many months that I was so annoyed that I actually ALT + F4'd a dungeon because I was done with this crap and had to cool down before I say something that gets me banned. May someone else enjoy those crappy attitudes, I need a mountain of purring cats or something.
So I'm running Keeper of the Lake, and during the second boss, the tank is just not even paying attention or doing their job. They are standing in the fire and not bothering to even make it look like they want to get out of it. They are not picking up ANY adds that spawn. I managed to keep everybody alive and we made it through, but I mean... why??? Later on, the tank says something like "sorry, I was just focusing on boss." I forget what the exact phrasing was, but it felt like a weird non-apology -- just a description of what they CHOSE to do, and how they're telling me what happened. I just rolled my eyes and thought YEAH, I KNOW, I WAS THERE. Of course I didn't actually give them any flak for it, they seemed like maybe they could be new at tanking or just struggling with the fight. Anyhow, that was... a time.
Anyone who plays D&D knows that's exactly how that works. You roll a Natural 20 on a stupid ability check that doesn't matter, that's a Nat 20 you can never get back.
Huh, that's weird. I also learned something new today in Dun Scaith: people still think the stack marker means "Take this thing as far away from everybody else as possible!" :p
I know that feel. I have been waiting so long to get the Cait Sith Neck Ribbon for my miqo'te character, and just recently I finally got it... only to realize my new hairstyle basically hides the little kitty figurine. Also, like five minutes after getting it I found out about the Namazu Bell and felt like "Oh, well now I kinda want that instead..."
Had a Praetorium where the rest of the party got into a "debate" over pineapple on pizza.
I, in turn, shared the cursed knowledge that McDonald's used to serve pizza.
Pretty sure I did more damage than anything else in the whole dungeon.
Excuse me, what?! :D Then again, they've begun serving this abomination in my country... feel free to Google what butter chicken and butter paneer are.
