Only a few hours left everyone~!
I hope everyone got their auditions in on time! >o<
Thank you to everyone who submitted for Cycle 6, you should have received an email back confirming that your submission was received! We have a great mix of returning and new models, which really excites me, actually I am SO EXCITED I am going to let another hint escape about Cycle 6~!
And I will let that secret go, right after this important announcement!
Remember, entry for models might be over, but you can still submit ideas on what themes you would like to see the models do! Every week a theme will be presented, and the player who suggested the theme will be given credit for the idea! We still need some more, so please just pop them right here:
Awesome Modeling Themes!!!
Now, here is another hint about the upcoming Cycle!!
While models will be judges independently, there will be two teams! Each Team will have a Captain, it's not so much a role as a cheerleader for the models. Someone rooting specifically for them to make them feel happy and loved!
So every week the scores will be added up to find the over all champion who will become EORZEA'S NEXT TOP MODEL!
And the teams over all points will be tallied as well. At the end one of the Captains will be able to tease the other captain mercilessly for having the over all highest team score! (Note: ENTM does not endorse teasing in a disrespectful way, these two thought it would be fun to do a versus idea to playfully pick on one another and are doing it out of mutual respect. XD )
Who are these Captains? Is there more to this? Well, I think I've given enough hints tonight so you'll just have to keep coming back.
Models who submitted: You will be hearing something soon, give us a few days to get everything sorted!! :D
Oh woe is me! I was a bit too slow in my return to the forums! lol I was gonna enter Mini's cousin, Kovu.

Aww well, always next time. Good luck to the contestants!
It is time to announce, what I am sure some have been wanting to know… who are these two team Captains who have come back to cheer their models to victory?! I would love to introduce two men that everyone in the ENTM fandom know very well:
Our very own creator and founder, RONGI PONGI! #TeamRoPo
And the ever charming, ever shirtless, TYRIONT GAIDAL! #TeamTy
Well since everything went so smooth (IE: I was sick and had extra time to work on it) the models have been picked, shuffled and in no particular order the teams have been made. The main thing I wanted was balance. Each team has 7 models, 4 brand new models who have risen to the challenge, and 3 returning models looking to dazzle once again! Our teams are, in alphabetical order…
#TeamRoPo
"Welcome back to another cycle of Eorzea's Next Top Model! Team Captain Rongi Pongi here, back from my internship at the Model Incineration Plant and ready to kick some Team Ty butt! Kai searched all across Eorzea and found 7 models to join me in teaching Team Ty a lesson and overthro-I mean, joining the ranks of our previous winners! Don't let me down Team RoPo. You don't want to know what happens to models who let me down! Mwahaha!"

"Welcome, one an' all! Havin' passed off th'reins o' the contest t'Kai, I'm now free t'do the one thing I've never gotten th'chance t' do - namely, pound Rongi into th'ground. I figure it won't take long, given how he's so close to it as it is. I've got a hell o' a crew o' models assembled an' I know you're goin' t'do your Cap'n proud! I figure we've got this in th'bag - jus' look at th'difference 'tween the two Cap'n's! You've got Team Ty, headed up by a dashin'ly handsome pirate who looks like he stepped right off th'cover o' a romance novel. An' then you've got Team RoPo. Headed up by a popoto. We're #TeamTy an' we're settin' sail for th'top!"

New Models!
Woooooot, super excited for this cycle! Everyone's shots look outstanding! OwOb I wish everyone good luck!
Here's just a few extra shots I took:

I was originally going to go with NIN, but I just wasn't feeling it.
http://i64.tinypic.com/19movn.jpg
I felt like the action had already passed in this one.
http://i66.tinypic.com/dz827b.jpg
I think the stun effect took a lot of the attention away from me here. D;
http://i65.tinypic.com/2wdmxib.jpg
Oh wow, Mack, that seasons shot is gorgeous!
I auditioned with both my main (Terrini) and my alt (Lior), and I suppose more testosterone was needed as Lior got in xD and he's one of only 3 guys in the cycle! I put in more time on shots for Terrini, but Lior will be a bit of a challenge! Woo!
You can find my outtakes here: http://m.imgur.com/a/F4FgY
Just a little heads up, I have given the models until the end of the day on August 31st (Midnight EST) to get me in their images! 12:01 am Thursday is too late my lovely models, so watch the days, it goes by fast!
So what does this mean? It will be the same rotation as last Cycle~
Every week the Images will go up Friday for voting, the voting will stay open until
Tuesday at the end of the day and results should be posted by Thursday!
Remember everyone, vote for who you honestly think is doing a good job!
The first week will start September 2nd, 2016! So get ready to vote!!! :D
Hello everyone and welcome to WEEK ONE of EORZEA’S NEXT TOP MODEL!!!
Remember: Models, Mentors and Team Captains cannot vote! Judges vote though their evaluations, and cannot vote though the poll!
This week’s theme is brought to us by Xev Bellwyn of Balmung server!
Theme: Ugly Pretty
Anyone can do beautiful; we want to see you do ugly… as in ugly pretty! Put together a makeover and outfit that would make most cringe, and then work it like it’s a million bucks!
Note: Any areas are usable, no dungeons.
So how did out models do? Well… you tell us!!
MODEL IMAGES HERE
Each model should be ranked from 1 (your favorite) to 13 (least favorite), note that we had 1 model that did not meet the submission time so they will receive an automatic score of zero. You should only list each model once, any polls received with a model listed more than once will be removed, so double check your entry:
POLL IS HERE
The poll will be open until the end of the day on Tuesday the 6th! (Closing: 11:59 (EST))
ROFL! Everyone's lookin pretty fabulous! X'D I had my character in that style for so long that it started to look normal to me... ._.;
My original plan was to have my character sit on a stinky flower, but the lightning wasn't the best during both day and night.

I was going to submit this picture, but I didn't think the hair was crazy enough.

Creepy...
http://i65.tinypic.com/yktw8.jpg
Here's my outtakes... Some of these had better lighting and color, but they all hid the glorious yellow pants... I needed to go with one that showed off the outfit to the fullest... and had good background balance.
Hey y'all just a reminder, voting ends Tuesday so get them in!!
Only hours to go, voting ends tonight, so please choose your favorites!
Well don’t expect this to happen every week! It just turned out I had the day off and couldn’t sleep (for over 40 hours…) and so you will get results today instead of tomorrow~!
So let’s explain everything first in reference to how this will play out.
No I am not releasing scores, or letting people know what order they were in. Why? Because then y’all would start doing secret charts and contemplating all these ideas and keeping score to try and figure out the overall winner, and it could turn into some big thing where y’all start stalking them and taking pics of them secretly... then some fanfic about the models being secretly in love and running away to some far of city... I mean what?! NO really... I just want to know that at the end it will be a surprise!! Yay surprises!!
Do I really think you’d do the above? You never know… but no honestly I want the winner to be a surprise.
Every week I will also announce which team had the overall highest score as a group (with the bottom scoring from each group removed, because it seems we lost a model. ;-; ) This is just so Rongi and Ty can have a little fun messing with each other etc!
So to keep it simple every week you will get:
· Over all highest scoring model (no scores)
· Over all highest scoring team (no scores)
· And the judge’s critiques~!
And who are our Judges?! The marvelous Marik, the fantastic Flare, the mesmerizing Masha, and last but not least the enchanting Eldaena~! Thank you very much for helping me with this cycles models, I know it’s a big job seeing it is non elimination!
Now I have split them into two groups, kinda guy’s vs girls haha! But honestly I did not think it was fair to make them write 14 reviews every week for 8 weeks. So, this week Marik & Flare did #TeamRoPo. Masha and Eldaena did #TeamTy. Next week they will flip flop and do the opposite and on and on until the final week when I have asked them all to write up something for all 14 models.
Whew… all that said I guess you don’t care about any of that! You want to see the critiques and know who the top model and team are! Fine fine, that’s what I’m here for lol~!
So this week Xev Bellwyn from Balmung asked the models to show who can be the best at looking the worst! It was quite amusing, and amazing! Here are the results from the models hard work~!
Critiques:

Marik
Caimura Rathe of Balmung:
First off I want to say, wow! You really know how to do “ugly” well! I won’t lie; this is probably one of my top favorite picks of this challenge. Your character just beautifully pops right off the screen with your background. Your metallic color choice helps bring your character to life against your background as well as the light metallic against your dark skin helps soooo much! I absolutely adore your posing; your lighting is on point. Every little intricate detail I’m in love with, from the purple flower in your light hair, or the bright blue lipstick against your dark skin! I will say this though be careful of your background though. If it wasn’t for the metallic colors and it would have been the same colors but non-metallic, then you would have easily blended in to your background and scenery and you as a model must always pop and stand out. Good job all round, I can’t wait to see what else you bring to the competition!
Katarh Mest of Lamia:
Hmmm, your shot gives me vibes of Midsummer night meets Dante’s Inferno lol. I’m not sure I’m a big fan of covering your face and especially for this particular challenge. I love your outfit as a whole because it’s extremely on point with your vision, and I’m in love with your fashion show for the Amal’jaa! Ifrit never looked more beautiful! The reindeer hooves with the kimono and stockings are just AMAZING! You’re background is definitely on point as well. My real main nitpick and concern is your angle, it just isn’t very complimentary for the pose you are using as well as your outfit. I would have loved it from a facing the camera perspective more or even a more severe angle with a little bit more of a close up. Overall just good job, love the glamour choice as a whole, background, and your theme! Here is to seeing you turning up the heat even more come next rounds!
Kimberlynne Highwind of Malboro:
What a way to start off the competition! Such a sassy pose, I can tell you have a lot of personality, and look forward to see more of that sassy-ness. I really enjoy your outfit as a whole, I’m not sure I would have picked those colors in particular though, they blend too well with your skin tones and don’t pop as well as they could have been. The fashion itself is definitely on point, definitely “ugly” but be aware of your colors and hope they don’t blend in too well with your scenery and you yourself, mainly the pink on the vest. I like the background, but your lighting on yourself it a bit dark, I’d love to have seen more sunlight or the sun minion on you to make you shine more so we could see the “repulsiveness” that is this challenge lol. Over all good job, love the sass! I can’t wait to see even more of it!
Lior Xanthos of Gilgamesh:
Such gracefulness and ugliness! Your posing is everything, and your fashion is just “dreadfully atrocious”! All of that in the ugliness of the category lol, glamour is on point as well as your scenery and area of choice. I love the mishmash of colors as well as the bright pop of your character’s body and glamour against your background and scenery. Just be careful with your skin tone and the sky, it’s not an issue now but could be the less you would wear, just make sure not to blend in with your background ever. Always shine bright and be a star! Overall love it, wonderful choice of background, glamour, and graceful posing!
Poppy Milkweed of Cactuar:
What an explosion! Very nice show of what is going on in Eorzea as we speak tying it into your photoshoot! Your background is so beautiful and you really pop with your color scheme and choices! I absolutely adore your pose; it’s very cute and very model-esque. My only concern is the covering of your face, in your subtitle it read "It's for the best that you can't see her face..." and to me, that screams “Wow! What could possibly be under there that is so ugly? I want to see it now!” I feel it was a safe choice, but let’s face it… the tin can is one of the ugliest armors possible in this game and I applaud you for taking advantage of its ugly and using it to your advantage. Just make sure from time to time we get to see your face, sometimes face can really help make or break a good shoot! Overall though very good color schemes, great use of a trash can armor, and LOVE your gorgeous background!
Sangriah Valere of Excalibur:
What an interesting hodgepodge of eclectic gear! I’m thoroughly impressed with your thoroughness of ugly! You rock that Egg helm, and I find it ‘eggs’cellent!... (Oh no bad egg puns!) I feel like you get this whole vibe of “I rock this beautiful egg eleganza!” while Yellow Moon over there is going “Gurl… get that hideous atrocity away from my beautiful Roe self!” Just so dynamic, you pop out just right; lighting is so on point, a very well put together shot. My one thing would be just be careful of your color scheming when coordinating with friends or NPC’s it could have easily been Yellow Moon upstaging you, but you definitely pulled off the yellow look much better!
Flare:
Caimura Rathe: I really enjoyed your photo a lot! While I was drawn to your gloriously horrid outfit, it works well with the stunning background and actually makes the metallic of the colors more annoying, but of course in a good way! This was one of my favorites this week. Nice work!
Katarh Mest: While the mismatched outfit and accessories were put together very nicely, the outfit follows the same color scheme a little much for me. The ranger pose fits well with the Amal'jaa theme you were going for, the background feels bigger than it should with some emptiness.
Kimberlynne Highwind: You definitely make a crazy looking outfit look sexy. Props on that! I would have love to have seen a variety of different colors, but it works with the background. One thing I would work on would be the lighting, Use the sun minion to bring the color out on your face and that outfit.
Lior Xanthos: As one of the only males in this competition, you've produced a strong photo for the first week. The background looks nice with the outfit and the pose ties in with that. Lighting is a little dark but it works somewhat since the sky in the background is overcast.
Poppy Milkweed: This is actually one of my favorite backgrounds from these batch of photos, very nice job with that! I felt like the outfit wasn't particularly ugly or pretty. Just something I would have seen if I ran a low level roulette.
Sangriah Valere: Pretty night sky with the Vesper Bay building in the background. You have a smug look on your face which makes you look pretty sassy. However, like before I feel like this is something I would see in a low level dungeon and wouldn't think anything of it.

Masha
Bastien Felicieux of Balmung
This is definitely one of the more vibrant entries and the colours of your outfit certainly play well into the display behind you. The almost garish colours certainly are cringeworthy (especially because I have a personal dislike for the metallic colours). However, I am a bit unhappy with your pose and background. I think you could have afforded to zoom a bit more out, which would not cut off the bombard balloon as much as it does right and the half cut off streetlamps on the left would not catch my eye as much as they do right now. The pose is a bit worrisome, since it reads “exasperated” to me and almost makes it look like you don’t want to show your face, pretty much casting the only large shadow in this vibrant picture onto yourself.
Gangly Zilla of Cactuar
What struck me in this first was the lighting. You manage to set yourself perfectly apart from the rest of the picture, automatically drawing the eye to yourself. Pose and outfit are great, though I am on the fence about the lip colour. I had to zoom and squint a bit to tell if you were smiling or looking bored, because the lips blend so much into your face. The background sets a nice scene, but seems very basic. Might be my own history with baths, but I think you could have gone a bit more to town on the decorations to make it more inviting even.
Iris Dawnshade of Hyperion
Wonderfully cringey outfit (and hair, oh god) and a very vibrant way of presenting it seemingly without a care in the world. You get bonus points from me by choosing one of my favourite locations in Eorzea, the Burning Wall. What dragged this down a bit for me is the fact that you are covering up the pretty part of the scenery on the right with yourself. The left is rather drab with just a bit of foliage and a rock, especially against vibrant you. I feel the picture could be more balanced if you had positioned yourself left.
Jester Ehrenfeld of Balmung
I REALLY like the play you did on your name with this outfit. Thinking about it, it might be a bit less cringy because of it, but I think the setup just sells the picture so well. Your pose, too, reminds me of a pantomime, so it works very well into the overall theme. The location works well into the theme, though I think you could have zoomed out a little more. Additionally, to that, by default the location is rather cluttered and can easily draw attention away from you. The cactuar eyes for example feel weirdly distracting. I do like though that your right arm kind of mimics the cactuar’s.
Mackayla Lane of Balmung
I love the pose, the extra and the setup! They are absolutely great and you have that snobby “I know I can pull this off” look on your face! Sadly, I feel some impact is lost by the composition. The entire frame could be shifted to the left somewhat, because your extra is cut off, and instead we have a bit of empty space / random Lala in the back. A slight zoom out would also give us the full glory of your hat. Lastly, the lighting is great to set you in scene, but with the extra light of your glove that area washes out somewhat while at the same time drawing more attention to itself than, say, your face.
Nadede Lasalle of Hyperion
There is an odd kind of serenity in your pose and the colours of your background. A little bit more zoom out to see your feet and maybe more of Crystal Tower would make it ideal, but certainly you sell the look on both pose and background alone.
What put me off a little is a closer look at your eyes, there is a very odd line there which makes me think you were maybe about to open your eyes? It’s one of those minor-but-cannot-be-unseen-moments that made the end result suffer a bit in my eyes. The smallest details can sometimes draw the eye the most.
Shayera Tano of Faerie
My trouble with this was that more than an Ugly Pretty theme, I was reminded of the “Match an NPC” theme from a past cycle. True, that NPC’s colour choices are rather cringe worthy, but there is certainly worse and it feels less original than a lot of the other entries. The lighting is well done, making sure you’re not overshadowed by the night, but at the same time I question, why night at all? Sorry, I felt this shot a bit past the objective.
Eldaena
Mackayla Lane - Yours was my number 1 this week. You used your lightning, posing, and location to your benefit. I like that you weren't completely center. I wish the hat wasn't cut off, but the cut off at the knee looks fine here. It also amuses me that the guy on the left seems to be presenting you as his newest masterpiece of sorts and you have that great spot light on you to reflect this. Looking forward to future shots!
Nadede Lasalle - Yours was my number 2 this week. Your lighting was great, pose was good, and location was beautiful. You look very serene, but I also couldn't think of why your character would be at this location and holding a dagger like this. The cut off at the feet is a bit distracting, though I know it's difficult to get a full body shot. Can't wait to see more!
Gangly Zilla - Nice to see you modeling again, Gangly! You were just above the middle of the pack for me this week. I like your lighting and posing. You seem to almost be trying to mimic the bowl of fruit to left with your outfit. I feel like your background is a bit dark and I couldn't find much synergy other than maybe you're a rich person lounging around your extravagant home? =p Looking forward to next week!
Bastien Felicieux - Such a colorful picture! I liked your, "I'm just too cool" pose here. I think your outfit would have benefited with a more exaggerated top. I would have also liked to see the camera panned down a bit more, since the cut off above the knee distracted me. I was imagining you're some kind of gambling salesman? Maybe selling those bombs with a chance to win big! I'm ~betting~ on seeing you next week!
Iris Dawnshade - Nice to see you again, Iris! Your pose is super cute here! I like how I can see all of your body, the lighting is good, and your background is pretty. And while I like your pose/outfit/lighting, I didn't feel there was enough within the shot to really grab my interest. It could be that, in contrast to your wild outfit, the background really lets you down instead of supporting the shot. Either way, looking forward to your next picture!
Jester Ehrenfeld - Pretty neat with your name and outfit tie in! I originally had you rated higher, but after some evaluating, I had to lower you a bit because I realized I actually just liked your outfit too much. It didn't make me cringe, so it probably wasn't ugly enough. (Sad as I am to say that.) I also think you could have benefited from better angles in your shot. Gold saucer was a good idea and I like your pose too. However, I don't feel like you're rocking it enough and you I think you needed a bit better lighting. I really hope to see great things from you next time!
Shayera Tano - I'm not sure about the outfit, but I will say, your face is super cringey in this for me! lol Your starry background and dim lighting are nice, but I'm unsure as to who you are looking at here. I also feel like because your npc is much larger than you, she grabs more attention (even with her sleepy eye look.) Also, because you're sitting and having your legs cut off by the shot, there is much less of you to see. I think better angles, posing, and some different concepts of shot composing will help you with future pictures.
WINNERS:
The overall winner for the week with the highest combined score of public and judge votes is:
Caimura Rathe
Congratulations on being the best at being the worst~! But will she hold onto that first place spot, or will another model outshine her next week? You will have to vote to find out, starting this Friday!
The overall team for the week with the highest combined score of public and judge votes is:
#TEAMTY!
Congrats to all of you! But can you hold on to being the top team, or will Rongi’s group come back to steal it away?
As always we couldn’t do this without the support of the models, judges, tumblr fan’s and of course the players of this awesome game! See you in a few days for Week 2!
Putting this up a little early since I’m feeling under the weather and going to bed soon!
Week Two has come and once again it is time to vote on our lovely models! Let’s see what do I have for you this week, ah yes!
Stephen Fairbrook from Balmung wants to see their Wicked Ways!
Theme: Wicked Ways
Show us how good evil can be! Will you run off and join the Garleans? Scheme with the Syndicate? Become tempered by a primal? Pledge your allegiance to the Ascians? Or maybe just go kick a Sylph. Dress your best and bring out your worst to rise to the top!
NOTE: All areas/dungeons are usable for this week, no restrictions.
So, who is going to rise to the top so we can see how good it is to be evil… well that is up to you!
Here are our lovely models images for this week:

Here is where you can vote, and please remember only one vote per model. Last week some people had duplicates and had to be removed, if you want your vote to count then be careful of that!
VOTE HERE
As always voting is open until this coming Tuesday at the end of the day, have fun voting!
Assassin Outtakes! I wanted to do something with a cool strike, but my model didn't have much time and I didn't catch a really nice dynamic shot that had the right effect, so I went with a more tame one.

Iris! I had to comment :) Your screenshot makes me giggle in the most deliciously evil way. Thank you for totally going there.
I had trouble choosing between 2 screenshots for my submission. The one I chose I felt was the safer of the 2 in overall composition. Here is my alternative:

Great job everyone. Good luck.
Such a fun round this week!! Well done, guys! :D
Also, wonderful hosting, Sakuraya!!
LOL! It looks like Lior got caught in a trap! XD
My thoughts exactly, I laughed way harder than I should have! X'D We're WHM buddies for this round Iris!
I want to give a shout out to Aki, Emmeryn, and Tanthalus for helping me with my shot! I wanted to make my character look SUPER cheeky, so I thought the pigtails + blushies combo was the way to go hahaha!
I only took three pictures for this round; my character wasn't looking at the camera for the first two, so I used the third one for my submission. :D
My other shot was pretty much identical to this one:

Sooooo one question... how will the new /gpose feature impact future cycles?
First off, yes I’m a bit late~ <3
That said… hello everyone and we have come to the end of Week #2! This week we asked our models so show us their Wicked Ways, and they didn’t pull any punches! So I am gonna keep this short and sweet, because all know you just want to see the results!
So first off, one of our Judges has something come up so we have 3 judges this week! That said, here are your critiques!
#TEAMTY
Marik:
Bastien Felicieux of Balmung:
What a wicked place for such a wicked Elezen! I must say you did such a wonderful job with your setting and background! Definitely get the wicked vibe from Haukke Manor! However, I’m not sure I’m entirely sold on your pose choice. Nothing really screams out to me “I’m wicked! Look as I dastardly do something devilish!” I suppose I just want more “wicked” from this, but regardless of that… I really do appreciate what you were going for here! Just make sure you really try to stick with the theme and it’s visible for others to see how well you can execute it. You yourself are such a beautiful Elezen and can rock any glamour shot in a heartbeat! Definitely have a keen eye for amazing angles and backgrounds.
Gangly Zilla of Cactuar:
Well well well… what do we have here? Some naughty adventurers not listening to their White Mage? Not allowing you to get buffs off in time?! Well I feel like you definitely deserved that wicked moment indeed! Maybe next time they’ll be patient enough to wait for buffs! (just an fyi, this actually annoys me and I’ve wanted to be wicked to people who just run off w/o my buffs lol) I absolutely love your framing, your lighting and how well you have your dead mates and the mobs that did the evil deed, in all the right places! My one concern would be I feel like the dead bodies should have been just a little closer to you. I needed to zoom-in just a lil’ bit to see what those dead, ungrateful, and impatient husks were on the ground. But over all a wonderful devilishly wicked shot!
Iris Dawnshade of Hyperion:
… … … I’m kind of speechless here… there is “wicked” then there is just down right heartbreaking cruelty! I always knew evil was in a small, tiny, and condensed package! And her name is Iris Dawnshade! I will admit I really appreciate the more comical approach to this challenge, it’s so wicked in its own right yet it definitely got out a cynical chuckle from me haha! This is definitely thinking outside the box and I really actually adore it! One of my favorites this time around. My one concern would be you are working with a very white and gorgeous background and a very white and gorgeous WHM body piece. That can easily clash and if it wasn’t for the reds in there, it could have easily just blended in right into the background. Just be sure to always be aware of not only your surroundings and angles, but what your glamours will look like in said setting. Again just splendid job!
Jester Ehrenfeld of Balmung:
Well someone is storming up some wicked-ness with our fellow bird beastmen friends! Off to war? Punish some naughty good-doers? I really like the concept and idea, but I’m not sure the execution is on point. Special effects from cut-scenes, skills, and other effects can be such a great boon, but can also hinder greatly as well. It is just a bit fuzzy making out everything that is going on from the obscuring particle effect going on from that particular cut-scene. I really love the idea and you yourself; you definitely rocked it out with great glamour choice and expression. Just make sure to be weary of what effects if any, that you use. Make sure you are the shining star in your shots! And shine brightly!
Mackayla Lane of Balmung:
What a fiery explosion of wickedness! I absolutely adore this shot so much! It’s so technically well done, and just so beautiful. You pop out so nicely against your effect from the furniture, as well as your glamour and posing is definitely on point. I feel like my biggest gripe and concern with this particular shot is that the Bahamut statue feels very out of place. I feel like either you should have been a bit more behind it or possibly even in-front of it and still achieve the same effect you got here. But overall minus that, just such a wonderfully wicked and fire-tastic shot! You make even Dalamud look dull!
Nadede Lasalle of Hyperion:
Wow, what a wonderful use of the wickedly evil Ultima weapon and Praetorium! I really love what is going on here, as if you’re giving who ever might be at the other end of your sight the option to stay a goody-two-shoes or join the wicked side of Nadede and Ultima! My main concern with your shot would be your hair color choice against such a dark background as well as being a dead centered shot with your current angle. The hair isn’t such a big deal this time around, but paired with dark glamours and even a dark background can easily just blend in all too well. Thankfully your amazing glamours saving grace is definitely being against the fire and other brighter parts of the background. I personally love dead centered shots done well, and this one is definitely on the more well aspect, just be careful because it conflicts a little bit with your overall screenshot and Ultima’s direction. But overall such a wonderfully wicked and evil shot! Keep up the naughty and devilish work!
Shayera Tano of Faerie:
Such a spikey and wickedly done shot! I really love the background and even the residual effect coming off of your Ravana bird. The outfit as a whole really works in your favor as well as the pose. I feel my only thing to address here is that you feel just a little too centered and I’m not entirely sure it works with your pose and angle. The headwear is just a bit concerning I’d love to see your eyes and how wickedly they had shone! But it’s not too big of a hit and miss, and it definitely compliments your outfit entirely. Just be careful of repeated covering of your face in future shots. Overall really love the idea, concept and overall execution! Can’t wait to see what other wicked ideas you have to show us!
#TEAMROPO
Eldaena:
Poppy Milkweed - What a huge improvement from last week! (In my opinion.) I'm loving this shot. I can't think of anyone more wicked than Garuda and you portray a minion of hers flawlessly. Never have those Miqo'te teeth and that crazed-eye look worked to the advantage of the model in this way. I love this - staging, lighting, expression, great work!
Caimura Rathe - I think you did great last week, and your streak continues. The background just keeps you as the center of attention, and this grin of yours also just gives me the vibe of a wicked person. (Maybe that's just all Lalafell in general =p) The blue lipstick pops with your eyes against the darkness, which is also awesome. Location, pose, expression, - all great, keep up the trend!
Sangriah Valere - You dropped down in my scoring slightly since last week. I still love your picture though! It was just a really tough round this time. I like the theme, your posing and lighting is good. It's mostly my personal preference, but I like to see faces a bit better in the modeling competitions, but this is still a good shot. I'd like to add that this is a good example of using an extra, but that extra not stealing your thunder. See you next week!
Kimberlynne Highwind - You raised up since my scoring last week. I like this shot a lot better and your background/pose helps draw the viewer into you, somewhat similarly to Caimura's shot this week. What I think you could have done more is further emphasize your wickedness. From this shot you COULD be wicked, but as a viewer, I don't fully get that. I think messing with your angles and where your character is looking could make this pose even better. Keep on improving!
Katarh Mest - Hey Kat! I did like your shot this week, but compared to some of the other shots, it wasn't as grabbing. You're actually at the same scoring as you were last week for me. Just as someone viewing the image, I couldn't gather that you were wicked. I like the effects, even the little particle to the right looks nice, but there were just other shots that were a bit more wicked/attention-grabbing. Keep at it, and we'll see you next week!
Lior Xanthos - This is a pretty good concept, but I feel like your extra is stealing the show from you here. She isn't doing anything interesting, but I think you against a dark background, in dark clothing...I just end up focusing on her. I think the background you chose is also highlighting her a bit. Maybe another idea could have been you in the foreground, but looking back towards her instead? Your character’s face looks really cool, and taking advantage of that with a closer shot would have be neat.
Masha:
Caimura Rathe of Balmung
Great use of background. The lines draw focus onto you and lead through the entire picture nicely. The pose and facial expression is just wonderfully on point. Oddly enough, with all the evil and darkness floating about that’s a bit of the trouble I had with your picture. The lighting and your dark clothing and hair make you tread a very thin line of blending in too much. A different chest piece could also have served well here, because with the crystals leading to the centre of the picture (your non-existent lalafellian chest :P) the eyes either move upward or downward. And the light patch on your stomach draws more attention through the contrast it provides, distracting from your great expression.
Katarh Mest of Lamia
Some would call it simplistic or you too obscured, but I call it minimalist and decidedly on point. You are the focus; you are probably as close to an accurate depiction of an Ascian as it can get. Everything works exceedingly well in your favour here. The only nit-pick I’d have is that your pose might be a little bland. I could see a Black Mage work really well in this setup, because /victorypose is such a deliciously evil chuckle, I’m surprised no one used it in this round.
Kimberlynne Highwind of Malboro
This is a very nice picture. Your bright colours are in stark contrast to your background, your pose is great and as a whole, the picture works incredibly well. BUT – and this is a huge but: Yours is one of the 4 pictures this round I felt missed the point of the brief somewhat. What I see here when I look at this and drawing common associations with what the colours tell me, what I know of your job as dragoon and the place in the background – Aery – is a brave Dragoon going for some kicking ass and taking names. Nidhogg’s specifically. Again, this is a great picture, but none of the things great about it – pose, colours, imagery – spell “I am evil/bad/wicked” to me, so as an entry for this round, it automatically loses a lot of points for missing the brief.
Lior Xanthos of Gilgamesh
I was really conflicted about this one. The idea is great and for the most part it is well executed. The main trouble I have here is that with it being night and the extra wearing the maid costume, it has the largest bright areas in the picture and will automatically draw the eye more than you do. One the one hand that’s good for an assassin – blending in with their surroundings – on the other it’s bad for you as a model and supposed focus of the picture. I’m not sure how it could be alleviated in this kind of composition. One possibility would be shifting the Maid into a profile perhaps and you a bit more to the left, so you are more directly framed by the trees above and to the left, and by the house to the right (you’re more covering it up than being framed by it atm).
Poppy Milkweed of Cactuar
*whispers* “Now fall.”
Fantastic expression that fits one of my favourite Primals. I also love the feather effect of the fancy daggers, it’s such an odd soft contrast to the crazy face you are making. Two big upsets I have with this picture though. One, it is incredibly unbalanced. Everything left of the centre feels pretty void. You’re also covering up your counterpoint, Garuda. Ideally I’d flip you entirely onto the left side, so the space is used a bit more equally. Second, the subligar. ._. That’s such an infamous garment it automatically draws the eye – and in the rarest occasions do I want to stare at someone else’s crotch as focal point of a picture. I feel there are a lot of bikini-esque bottoms that could have done the job just as well here…
Sangriah Valere of Excalibur
Really nice idea and execution. (I cannot be the only one thinking “please make the sword slip upwards a bit, then we’re done with her”.) I do wish the image was shifted slightly to the left, because the right side feels a little empty, and more of Zodiark’s crystals would be on the left. The portal is also something I am a little conflicted over, because while it serves as a vital source of light and stops you from blending with your background, I often feel they take a little out of the immersion of a picture.

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 3 of Eorzea’s Next Top Model!
This week we are bringing back a cycle favorite! COSPLAY! Everyone always seems to love this round, so I’m excited to see the responses we get!
Cosplay
Idea: Cycle Favorite!
The favorite of every cycle - cosplay! Dress up as your favorite character from movies, shows or games. Make sure that the outfit and the surroundings really match with this character and make us believe that you are them! Be creative!! No FFXIV characters, no Cloud, no Firion - basically nothing from this game or full outfits that SE has released of characters’ outfits.
Note: All areas/dungeons are usable for this week, no restrictions.
Who will bet the model to take the top spot, well that is up to you! Vote and let your voice be heard!!
Here are the lovely models images for this week:

As always, voting is open until this coming Tuesday by the end of that day. Have fun!
I love how creative and diverse people can be with this prompt!
I experimented with a Jasmine idea. I didn't like the plants coming out of my goobue and I couldn't afford a turtle http://orig05.deviantart.net/bdca/f/...sh-dai2der.jpg
I really wanted an excuse to use the mohawk hairstyle and decided to go with Storm. I'm a fan of her 90's comic look and attitude which they are trying to revive in the reboot

The DRK ability I can create a lot of lightning effects but I couldn't get a nice shot of her face nor hide the sword

I thought of this one as "Calm before the Storm"

I was so indecisive this round, but it was fun nonetheless!
Thought about submitting this one, but I wasn't sure about the background.

I wanted to do Captain Yamato from Naruto Shippuden, but I didn't like how the outfit came out. :(

After I got this hat, I thought I could pull off cosplaying as the Doctor from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, but ehhhhhh.

I don't have much in funny outtakes because I found the perfect spot and just played with angles for my Cosplay shot, But I did photo test another concept but the outfit just wasn't doing it for me.

Wow… Week 3 has come and gone, it is now time for the results of the poll! Will we have another repeat of last week, or will someone else finally rise into the top spot?
First off, let’s go ahead and look at the critiques~
#TEAMROPO
Marik
Caimura Rathe of Balmung:
Pretty impressive, as far as your cosplay you definitely captured the essence of your character. Now for everything else, again just another amazing job this week! Everything just seems to be on point, from your lighting, to your angles, to your background. I greatly appreciate every little detail that’s going on in this shot, yet… you always remain the sole focus! That’s how it’s done for ENTM! You are the star and this is your time to show me how bright you can shine! Just be mindful of your lightning cause it could have easily just been too dark, but thankfully was just that right brightness to make you pop easily from your background. Again beautiful job, I’m always excited to see what you’ll bring each time!
Katarh Mest of Lamia:
Very nice on the cosplay, feeling the outfit and look, but boy if we just had capes in here (Ednanocapes.gif). Your background, glamour, and lighting are phenomenal! Just really amazing job! You have such a command of the foreground while your background still shines through as if you’re jumping right out at me! Very impressive, but my one concern is definitely your pose or even the angle. The pose itself is great, works perfectly for your shot; the angle is amazing as well! But both of them together? I’m not sure it honestly works as a whole, I feel like maybe you should have been facing the camera or the angle be different with that pose and looking in that direction. It just feels slightly off to me, but regardless everything else is just amazing! Electrifying work this week! (Ruh-roh puns!)
Kimberlynne Highwind of Malboro:
Great job on the cosplay, definitely get the feel of the character. As for your shot as a whole, I absolutely love it! Setting is on point, lighting, angles and even your pose is just beautiful. To be honest though, I’m not entirely sure your extra was needed. They are very close to upstaging you, and you never want that as a model. You are the focus and need to be the focus always. As I tell others be the star you are and shine brightly! Your saving grace for you is you are looking at the camera and he is not, as well as his face is very shadowed. But when I first look at the pic I almost want to look at him first, rather than you. I get why the extra is there, just make sure in future shots you are always the star! Beautiful work this week though, loving it!
Lior Xanthos of Gilgamesh:
Lovely work on the cosplay, very spot on. The overall composition of the shot is really good, focus to you is on point, I love the angle of you and your extra very well. Glamours are definitely on point and lighting is fantastic! I’m not really understanding your background that much thought to be honest. It’s very flat and not very inspiring or works that well honestly. I get why the background is the way it is because of your angle, but just as making sure you are the star that shines in your photos, you should always be aware of your surroundings as well. The angle works very nicely, and I love everything else about the shot! Just all around a good job, just be weary of your surroundings and you can make for some amazing photos!
Poppy Milkweed of Cactuar:
Great job on the cosplay, really love the playfulness of your character. Now, everything else I really love the area, your background, you, the glamours, and just all of it! But the lighting is a bit difficult and I feel like you aren’t the center of attention for this shot. Everything is so well placed, but I don’t immediately hone in to you when I first look at the shot. I see the bees first, and then I see you. You always need to be center stage in your shots as a model, and never let anyone or anything upstage you. Aside from that you’re easily the very next focus and honestly everything else really does work for you, just be sure to always stand out and shine! Be brighter than the northern star itself! Still loved the shot overall!
Sangriah Valere of Excalibur:
You yourself on the cosplay is really great! The overall shot is just simply superb! I really love your background, and your pose as well as lighting and your look on your character! Just amazing job. I’m not entirely sure the glamours really work though, just… it’s a little off putting and not sure it meshes well. I feel like there is just a lil’ too much going on and I’m not entirely sure it fits with what you are going for. You are amazing and the shot is amazing as well! I honestly love it, and one of my favorite backgrounds this round!
Flare
So I wanted to start off by saying I didn't have a clue who some of the characters some of you chose to cosplay. I looked up and judged based on likeness. Please bear with me.... :P
Caimura Rathe: This is a very accurate cosplay! I think you captured the essence of Fortune very nicely. That background is beautiful and brings a Metal Gear feel to your picture. The only issue I have is the lighting. The sun minion would have given you a bit of light while still giving your background that dark feeling.
Katarh Mest: I love risk takers and you did just that this week and made it work! I know when a lot of people think of Storm, they always picture her flying and such. Since we can't actually fly, you brought us a stunning background that complements your character a little too well. This is what I would picture Storm if she time traveled and were stuck in Eorzea.
Kimberlynne Highwind: First off, I wanted to say that this was a welcome surprise. I love Spirited Away and I think you did a very nice job. The background works, but for me I could have done without Haku in this. There are some wonderful pictures of Chihiro that would have worked better while still staying true to the cosplay. Still a wonderful job for giving us something different.
Lior Xanthos: This was a character who I had no idea who or what they were from. While googling, I came across a picture with this character and the princess so props for getting the actual cosplay looking great! Background is a little underwhelming but overall a nice picture.
Poppy Milkweed: This is a cute picture, but I wouldn't have noticed that it was Isabelle without the text at the bottom. This is a hard one to judge. I like the creativity and effort you put forth as this is a hard cosplay to do in FFXIV as well as thinking outside the box and giving us something new. But with the shot being a little far away from your character and nothing really screams Animal Crossing to me. I would have tried to do something else. Also, this picture would have benefited from the sun minion as well.
Sangriah Valere: It's the battle of the Storms this week and I have to say, I enjoyed your photo as well! Both you and Katarh gave us something different. It looks like your hoovering and almost approving of your work in the background. Everything in this picture works together to take you and this shot to the next level. Nicely done!

Masha
Preface:
I love cosplays but at the same time I actually dislike them in competitions. It’s very hard to judge unbiased when one is familiar with some characters and completely unfamiliar with others. Yes, I can pull up reference pictures, see if costume and setting kind of match, but really good shots can bring in nuances and details of characters that people unfamiliar with them cannot pick up. Ultimately I am sure we judges end up nit-picking things that are based on personal preference every round, but the added layer of familiarity and unfamiliarity in cosplay intensifies that in my opinion. I’m sure everyone put a lot of thought in their work and I’m sorry if I lack the ability to sometimes appreciate that in this round. :3
Bastien Felicieux of Balmung
And right at the start I have to point to my preface. I am not familiar with this character and a short research for references revealed to me that this character is from a book series without any official visual references. This makes the cosplay part of the picture rather hard to judge. In terms of framing and background, the picture feels a bit unbalanced. You have 3 different light sources on the left, and only barrels on the right, with you fairly centered, the eyes will inevitably be drawn to the right after focussing on you. Always keep in mind how light sources can draw focus, how the picture should be filled and focus points should lead the eye through the entire picture.
Gangly Zilla of Cactuar
The colour scheme alone serves to make Sakura instantly recognizable. The crisp blues of the background balance greatly with your colours and I love how you used your pose to fill the frame and bring motion into the picture. Some might see this a more minimalist picture but I think it does well representing Sakura both in looks and character! Well done!
Iris Dawnshade of Hyperion
Another character I am not familiar with, but from the references I found, the cosplay is very on point, even down to the fierce facial expression. I really like the gradual lighting and how it naturally brings you into focus, but it sadly does not detract from the fact that aside from you the image is rather blank. To me this picture stood in stark contrast to Gangly’s because both of you chose minimalist backgrounds to focus on your characters, but she pulled it off better by filling the entire screen.
Jester Ehrenfeld of Balmung
The thing I liked about this picture is that everything seems so well thought out. We have the iconic look, the robes, the broom… then there is Hedwig and Ishgard/Hogwarts in the background. Everything we look at underlines aspects of your cosplay and that’s amazingly well done! The only nitpick I might have is that the lighting feels a tad bit staged, in that I am 95% sure I can pinpoint where there is a sun minion in the picture. But otherwise this is just great.
Mackayla Lane of Balmung
This here is the other side of the spectrum that I am concerned about in my preface. I grew up with The Last Airbender and of course watched Korra. People that have watched this will know the scene and what it means instantly and that has a great impact. Frankly I freaked a bit going “Oh wooow!”. You did so well choosing Korra, because her character play perfectly into yours, the Highlander bodytype and the skin colour match perfectly, and while those should not matter in cosplay, one cannot deny the effect a well matched look achieves. The outfit and hairstyle are just on point and the scene and effect is just so well done and well timed. The only minor complaint I might have is that the picture is very balanced to the left. The background is great on the right side, but the flashiness and action is all on the left, leaving me wanting to have something that draws my eye right.
Nadede Lasalle of Hyperion
Even when I know a character, I always pull up a bunch of pictures for reference and try to see which iteration the person cosplaying went for. I had a bit of trouble really pinpointing why this felt a bit off… it might be the colour palette – Katniss’ outfits most of the time are very tone in tone dark – but it might actually be the boots. I love those boots, use them myself, but I feel it throws me off because I know Katniss in combat boots or leather boots reaching just below the knee. It’s a weird thing to get hung up on, but details like that are sometimes what make me think “this is a perfect cosplay”. Alexander in the background is pretty, but at the same time I wonder what it has to do with the character. Our most common association with Katniss is her in the forest. I think that could have helped underline her character more.
Shayera Tano of Faerie
The costume is very on point, making the character recognizable with one glance. You chose a very busy background (watch for that crafter in the bottom right :o ) though you manage to remain the focus thanks to lighting. Be careful though, the brightness is almost too much, threatening to wash parts of you out. I think a little more zoom might have helped as well, because you are ultimately the focus here and not the scene, so the less cluttered the picture seems the better. With fighting game characters, I always remember the picture a friend took, cosplaying Chun Li. They went with a very steady camera, aligning the ground horizontally, and giving the background a very symmetrical fighting screen look. I almost wish you’d have gone a similar route, since I’m not sure if the current angle really adds to the picture. Overall still a great cosplay though, well done!
Eldaena
Jester Ehrenfeld - So cool! Great attention to detail here! There isn't much I would change (if only a realistic owl minion was in game!) Good lighting, great use of mount and minion, amazing background, and you look like the character you are attempting to portray. Great work!
Gangly Zilla - It feels like FFXIV is having a Naruto crossover right now! This is an uncanny rendition of Sakura, even the kick! I don't mind there not being a focus on the background here because you are trying to show not only how much you look like Sakura, but how much you can replicate her completely! Really cool!
Nadede Lasalle - I liked your pose, the lighting, and the epic feel of your background. I do feel like your look isn't exactly "Katniss." If I didn't read the title I wouldn't have thought of Katniss even though I am familiar with that character. However, I did see your effort and it's still a nice shot! Good job!
Mackayla Lane - You have me a bit torn here. I think you do look like Korra, but I don't know what's going on in this shot. Probably because I'm not familiar with this series. The lighting, shadows, and background are pretty. Just unsure as to the big picture. Still a nice shot, so keep it up!
Shayera Tano - Your outfit is really great here! I instantly knew who you were, however...I found your facial expression and pose distracting. It was definitely heading in the right direction, but it ended up looking a bit awkward and out of place with your background. I think the lighting is also a bit harsh on the upper body. Still a great cosplay though, so, Nice job!
Iris Dawnshade - Let me start by saying you did well in choosing your attire and hairstyle. Your lighting here is soft and not too harsh either. What I have a problem with is how empty your shot feels. It's not the same kind of empty like Gangly's shot this week. She's filling it up with action relating to her character. I'm just not drawn into this image that feels rather empty. Also, since the costume is simple, it does distract me slightly that you didn't dye the set to jet black. Not fully sure how to feel about this one, but I'm looking forward to next week.
Bastien Felicieux - Unfortunately, you were towards the bottom for me this week. Obscurity sometimes can be really cool, or it can land kind of flat. I tried looking up references to the character you are trying to cosplay, but nothing really looked like your character that I found. You don't look bad, and the pose is okay, I just don't think it was cosplay-y enough, I guess. I hope to see some new work next week!

And some outtakes!
Thunderstorms are so rare, my original idea was to add the lightning by using Markab, then I caught one at night in Upper La Noscea and I went "If this isn't DARK and STORMY, I don't know what is!" But I still love my original shots in the Shroud getting pelted with Lightning by a Sylph... It was a tough decision for me.
Week 4 has come to an end my friends, so lets see who took top spot's!
First off, let’s go ahead and look at the critiques~
#TEAMROPO
Eldaena:
Katarh Mest - Ahoy! I really liked this idea a lot. Your lighting and posing was great. A few things I would have liked to see different: Pretty much a screenshot taken from the opposite direction. I don't think the back shot is helping you more than a front shot would have, and I would have rather seen the icy spikes rather than the crabs on the shore. Other than that, keep up the good work!
Kimberlynne Highwind - This picture is kind of cute. To me it looks like your hands are catching the rain drops and I enjoy seeing the reflective lighting on the water. I like your housing/waterfall background a lot as well. You look sort of surprised that it suddenly started down pouring, but honestly, you should probably take shelter! =p Nice work, see you next week!
Caimura Rathe - I like that you are trying something different with this screenshot. The rain and decorations hanging from your shelter are a nice touch. I'm trying to warm up to back shots more, but I just can't help feeling closed off from the characters when I only see their backs. Concept is cool, not as outstanding as some of your other works. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you. =)
Lior Xanthos - I'll start out by saying this is a really cool angle, and I'm liking it a lot. You captured the lightning too which is always difficult, I've tried! lol The only thing that bothers me at all, and this is only if I focus on this, is it kind of looks like you're standing in a tree or a bush, but like on the side of it? I'm not sure how to describe it, but it looks rather amusing lol Cool shot, so keep it up!
Sangriah Valere - Your pose makes me think of like a Gothic opera singer or something! lol Beyond that, I didn't really know where the rain really played in as much. I like the Gothic-esque look and feel, but I have to wonder why she wouldn't just go back in the house? lol Lighting is pretty good, but it seems a bit warm against the cooler light from the stained glass window. I'm sure you meant to have the Ahriman in your background as well, but overall, I found them a bit distracting. I think mainly I liked the dark silhouette of the foliage in your background to be more charming than everything that's going on to your left hand side. But I get where you were coming from, so good job!
Poppy Milkweed - Trying to find your concept here, other than a misguided ninja standing in the rain! lol I feel like the branches at the top and the rock to the front right are encroaching too much into your territory. Also, the background to me looks a bit too messy to compliment your pose. I can see the rain well and I liked the lighting weapons in this, but overall I feel like I lose you in all the craziness going on around you. Looking forward to seeing what's next, good luck!
Masha:
Caimura Rathe of Balmung
A back shot! And it pays off! The scene is communicated at a glance and the cave’s natural framing is amazingly fitting to create a kind of intimate atmosphere. In this case being a lalafell works very well, because it brings out this “tiny person vs nature is helpless” feeling better than any other race could! I worry though that you might get lost in the picture. You are sitting in front of a rather dark scene, so lighter clothes and maybe even hair (or maybe a hood?) would help counter the blending in problem.
Katarh Mest of Lamia
Backshots are always a risk, but in my opinion it pays off here. A wonderfully lit, badass pose. There is an argument to be made for random poses without context being a bit of a pet peeve of mine but in this case I don’t care much. Great glamour as well, I love that top! I’m a bit torn over the choice of spear here, because to me it clashes a bit with the glamour, but matches with the scenery well. You chose a very interesting background here and the rock structures serve you well with filling the frame and keeping it interesting.
Kimberlynne Highwind of Malboro
A very nice picture, with a cute pose. Sadly, I felt compared to a lot of the other entries it felt a bit standard, as in not daring/innovative or engaging enough. It’s a safe picture, but often enough in a competition it pays off to try something dynamic and/or maybe a little odd to put yourself in scene. Experiment with angles, both in your poses and from your camera. Work with your background, a lot of the scenery is oddly cut off here, and a standard centered camera often feels simplistic unless you’re doing something very interesting and/or the background almost demands it for composition reasons.
Lior Xanthos of Gilgamesh
That pony! Wonderfully chosen and excellent timing with the lightning in the background. Great play with angles and depth as well with the plants in the foreground. A great picture, but in a reoccurring problem I see with you, I am worried that you blend in too much with your background. In black clothes, on the dark back of the horse, with a dark sky behind your, plus fairly zoomed out, you are almost an afterthought as I observe the glorious shiny mane of the pony. Either you must put yourself well in scene so you outshine your surroundings in a dark night, or you must choose to forgo the black clothes and opt for something brighter, so you set yourself apart. Otherwise you really run the danger of being a bit forgotten.
Poppy Milkweed of Cactuar
I was a bit unhappy with this picture because along with a few others that just seemed a bit too light in the sky for me to think of it as a “dark and stormy night”. The location is well chosen, I imagine the crystals would serve as good indirect light sources in the night sky (if there was one >.<) and I really like how you utilized the tree and rock as framing devices. I am a bit worried about your glamour. If it were night, you would very much blend in, so an indirect light source like the sun minion would have been a must. Conversely I worry about your daggers being a bit too flashy and taking attention away from you, although I agree that thematically they would certainly match well.
Sangriah Valere of Excalibur
Wonderfully nice and atmospheric, with great lighting to put you into scene. You put a great bit attention to detail into this and it definitely pays off! The only downside I can see here is your facial expression, which takes a lot away from the overall effect. It’s way too friendly and welcoming in a setting where something taunting and sinister would work much better. Remember that you can overwrite the expressions of emotes with the facial expressions to give emotes a whole new level of possibility!

Flare:
Bastien Felicieux: So this is a beautiful shot! I'm loving the camera angle; your pose brings a more lighthearted approach to a more seemingly serious theme. The colors in this picture are what down it for me. Everything just comes together smoothly.
Gangly Zilla: Ma'am, don't look now, but the rain is about to ruin your wonderful night at the beach. This is another one that gave a lighthearted feel to this round. The natural lighting helps this shot out a lot, and I'm glad you chose not to use the sun minion for this.
Iris Dawnshade; Don't mess with Iris this week! Simply beautiful! One of my favorites this week. Everything flows together really nicely. One of the best backgrounds this week by far.
Jester Ehrenfeld: This is a good picture. I think it might suffer a bit from being so far away from your person and expression but I think I know what you were trying to go for in this shot. Nice background and use of the minion.
Mackayla Lane: Another one of my favorites this week. Wonderful use of the crystals in the dark background. Your person almost gives me a creepy vibe but works wonderfully in this shot.
Nadede Lasalle: This shot almost gives me a "Sailor lost at sea" vibe and I love it. It looks like your all by yourself in the middle of the ocean becoming scared and paranoid of what’s to come next. Whatever you do, please don't jump!
Shayera Tano: This is really cute. Makes me feel like you and your red panda survived a horrible storm and the next morning, you were greeted by a rainbow. Nice work all together.
Marik:
Bastien Felicieux of Balmung:
Hmm… turned around I see… risky… I love it! For this particular shot, it works and works amazing! This shot is so well done, I’m so in love with everything going on here! With the background, and the lightning strike! OMG SO BEAUTIFUL! My one gripe would be that I’m not sure how well the glamour works here; I mean I get a vibe of dancing in the rain maybe? It’s a small nitpick, but it still works for the most part. Again just amazing job this week, love, love, LOVE your rain stormy dance realness!
Gangly Zilla of Cactuar:
What a different and odd take on this particular theme… gorgeous!!! I really love the thinking outside the box this season, you models are on FIRE! (Or for this theme, would be on water?) Anywhoozles, I just love this shot so much and easily has to be one of my favorites this round! Everything is on point, from glamour, to lighting and background and positions! I LOVE that feel of just giving caution to the wind on a stormy night and saying “I’m a rebel! BEACH PARTY!” just 10’s all around, love it! Keep up the beautiful work Gangly!
Iris Dawnshade of Hyperion:
AAAAA-mazing! This has to be one of the most beautiful and well executed shots this round! I am in absolute love with this! Your background, lighting, NPCs in back, and just… it’s all so cohesive and works so well! Glamour is super on point and works so amazingly for your particular shot! Angle and structure is really nice as well. Definitely a very well rounded and just well executed shot! /clap Good Job!
Jester Ehrenfeld of Balmung:
Such a playful shot with this theme, I really like the outside the norm themes going on here! I love how you’re having a lil’ parade marching through the Hinterlands in not so pleasant weather! Concept, lighting, and glamour is on point as well as I love the minion action too! My one gripe on this shot though is I’m not sure the centered shot or the angle really works all too well with this, the column just right beside you just seem out of place almost. It’s all a beautiful shot, but from the current angle and perspective I feel it just isn’t cohesive enough. Other than that though, this is another amazing stormy night shot! Love it!!
Mackayla Lane of Balmung:
Ooo such a lovely, dark, and mysterious shot! I’m so intrigued by what’s going on, I’m already sucked in like a great book! The glamour, angle, background and you are all on point and brilliantly so! I love the atmosphere going on as well, the lighting is a bit skewed, but for the atmosphere of this shot, it works. Really just an amazing job, I love it!
Nadede Lasalle of Hyperion:
Arrrgh me matey! Pirate couture going on here! This is just such a superb shot! I love the idea and the execution going on here! The weather, the background, your pose and angle just all work here! The glamour is so on point; I think there is some buried treasure nearby… (OH NO PUNS!, I’ll stop lol) Just such an amazing job this week from you! The one thing that caught me off guard was your pose, but there are just a bazillion things going on in my head wondering what is going on, I love the guessing game and it works! You sell everything here and I wanna come aboard and sail away with ya for that treasure! Great job!
Shayera Tano of Faerie:
So pretty, and so cute! I love your glamours and your lil’ friend there, it’s working quite well for you. I love that you got the rainbow behind you and I definitely see where you were going, but I’m not entirely sure it all comes together. I feel you’re a bit zoomed in, cutting yourself off and making the shot much smaller than it should be. I love what I can see of your glamours, but cutting yourself off can really cut off a perspective. I do love the atmosphere and feel of it, but I’m not entirely sure it reads “One dark and stormy night”. Just make sure you’re really getting the theme out there. But regardless it’s still a very pretty shot and I love you and your Elezen fierce-ness!

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 5 of Eorzea’s Next Top Model!
This week we bring you a challenge from Eirwen Mackenzie on Excalibur!
Theme: Monochromatic
Create a stunning image where you might blend in, but you need to stand out! Pick a color, any color and create a monochromatic glamour that will stun the judges. The surrounding area in the image should also bear some of the same colors. (Ex: Wearing all green or brown in a forest). As long as the gear is dyed, it's ok if the trim or some parts don’t dye as long as the majority of the outfit is monochrome.
NOTE: All areas/dungeons are usable for this week, no restrictions.

So many good ones this week :o
My shot had a lot to do with playing with lighting effects while fighting Ifrit, so I had two possible angles - the lack of light or a lot of it. I had so many nice shots, but I had to make sure that I stood out too with a dynamic pose and good image balance. All shots here.
Highlights:
Amazing shots! We kind of almost have the colors of a rainbow! :D
I originally wanted a shot with my character in mid-air, but I had to zoom out too much. The skirt also kept flipping up so I had to use bikini bottoms. Plus I couldn't figure out the timing of the pose so I gave up on that. :(

I wanted some kind of action to accompany the water, but it didn't work out in this case.

Another concept, but I felt that the lance was the main focus.

ENTM C6 - Week 5 Results!
First off, sorry this is a day late, I got really sick yesterday due to a migraine and couldn’t get around light. That said…
Week 5 is now over… this is going by so quickly, but let’s see who took top spot's this time!
First off, let’s go ahead and look at the critiques~

Marik:
Caimura Rathe of Balmung:
Red! So you chose red… I get such a red velvet cake vibe, so rich! I love it! This is such an amazing shot, from the lighting, to the background and your glamours! You never cease to amaze me so far in this competition and this is such a fabulous time to strut your stuff! Even though you have surrounded yourself in red, you easily pop out and are the main focal point. I love how well your eyes and lipstick pop so beautifully against your red scheme. Everything is coming up roses… red roses! And I love’em! Keep up the amazing work.
Katarh Mest of Lamia:
Yellow! Hmmm… like a lemon cake in a lemon sprinkle heaven, so sweet, tart, and tasty! Yum! (I’m so sorry for the continued food puns, but I’m on a roll… a sweet roll!) I’m just… wow! This shot has to easily be one of my favorites this round. I adore not only how cohesive your glamour is with this shot, but the vast depth of your background choice as well as the most beautiful natural lighting I’ve seen in such a long while! Your dark skin pops so well against your glamour as well as your scenery! This is just such lovely glow against a beautifully painted scene. Someone is definitely walking on sunshine, and it has to be the kitty!
Kimberlynne Highwind of Malboro:
White! Frosty, glacial, clean, sweet… Powder sugar freeze, on top of a fluffy angel cake! ::shivers:: I’m thoroughly and shockingly impressed by this particular shot! I never thought in ENTM history I’d ever see shadowed shading on a model work for a shot… but it does! Your background is so white and bright, that you actually needed some kind of darkened against you to pop against such a bright background, and it works! This just astounds me and I’m just so flabbergasted. Love the choice of glamour, especially your weapon; it helps accentuate you even further against your background. Just really impressed with this shot. I think you might be floating high on cloud nine!
Lior Xanthos of Gilgamesh:
Red! More red eh? Fiery, cinnamon-y, something spicy and hot! Like flame candies or blood peppers, hawt! I really appreciate the action type shot here, it’s very interesting and such a severe angle, but I’m not entirely sure it’s all that cohesive. I see bits of red here and there, but over all I’m not sure it’s all pulled together correctly. It’s hard to see all of you with the angle of your character in the actual shot, but I really do like the battle effect going on here; it helps focus your character a little bit. Make sure to have a clear shot of yourself, so you can pop and be amazing! Sizzle and pop, full of fiery passion!
Sangriah Valere of Excalibur:
Beige, brown, beautiful! Something baked, cookies, cakes? Cinnamon rolls? Either way it’s a delicious show! I really love what is going on in this shot. Playing secret sharp shooter agent ehh? I actually love the lighting as well going on here, it’s like a spot light has been shone on you and you might have been caught! Keep your guard up, and stay on target! You really pop so nicely against your background as well as how well you blend in to the wall as well, all stealth like! Glamour choice is rather spot on as well, just love the whole shot. Warming and sharp, I see this shot shooting through the stiffest of hearts!
Flare:
Wanted to start out by saying everyone SLAYED this week! Pretty much love all of these photos and it was very hard to actually rank them. As always, this is a good thing!
Caimura Rathe: Never trust a grinning Lala in front of a sinister red backdrop. It looks like you are about to perform some kind of ritual and I love it! This picture is defiantly an eye catcher that keeps us guessing.
Katarh Mesh: Was this taken with the new filters? It looks amazing regardless! This picture brings a certain calmness and warm feeling. Wouldn't be awesome to live in a world where there was an eternal sunset that looked this gorgeous?
Kimberlynn Highwind: Snowy pictures like these are always beautiful. Looks like a gentle white mage becoming one with nature once more. The effect your staff is giving off is quite nice and the shadow from the tree just adds to it.
Lior Xanthos: Simple background, but I can instantly tell this the bowl of embers. What sold this for me was the effortless action pose in conjunction with the instanced lighting. This is a great one!
Shayera Tano: You kind of look like a sky pirate about to score big on some treasure. This is a nice picture that you stand out in in a good way. The metallic works well with the background and lighting, makes you glow a bit and brings the attention to you.
#TEAMTY
Masha:
Bastien Felicieux of Balmung
The location works great, but I think the time of day could have been chosen better here to match the monochrome colours more. The light gives a lot of very yellowy overtones that don’t let the actually colours shine through well. The pose feels a little bit odd, I am not sure if profile was the best choice here, the Elezen physique relay comes through here, making your head sooo tiny – and on top it’s being obscured by your hair.
Gangly Zilla of Cactuar
A beautifully harmonic picture, and definitely one of my favourites this week! The effect plays into the palette of blue very well and you fill out the picture while still keeping focus on yourself. There is something wonderfully serene about it that keeps my attention. Very well done!
Iris Dawnshade of Hyperion
Very pretty, the soft blues are calming, yet with the light and shadows there is some depth to the picture. I wonder if the off centre is needed here though, as I am not sure it brings much to the picture itself. I love the pose and expression, and I guess the glamour is thematically appropriate but on a personal note I just cannot bring myself to ever like that set. XD On further observation the angle from below seems almost a bit too harsh, at least with this level of zoom. Still, a very beautiful picture, well done!
Jester Ehrenfeld of Balmung
This one made me smile, such a cheeky and clever idea. The colour composition is great! I find it a little bit too static though, there are a lot of emotes and maybe different sitting poses you could probably pull off to make it a little bit more interesting. Good job on thinking outside the box though!
Mackayla Lane of Balmung
Very smart idea to work with your skin colour so much! Watch out for the light source though, because it really watches out a lot of your front. Similar to Isis, I am also not sure what the off centre does for you here, because the right side feels very barren. Your pose is slightly awkward as well, because I cannot quite decipher what you are trying to portray.
Nadede Lasalle of Hyperion
Colourwise this is definitely on point and a very creative way to probably use the most annoying weather ever. Sadly, I am largely put off by your pose. It’s a very awkward freeze frame from an awkward angle – I spy you, panty shot! This is probably a pose that would have worked better from a more profile-ish angle. Clipping into gear cannot be avoided, but it can be concealed as well, don’t forget!
Shayera Tano of Faerie
Very nice colours and your attention to detail is apparent. But this was similar to a few others this round where my eyes locked onto a flaw that shifts the entire balance of the picture for me. In your case, it’s the hand/ arm. It’s oddly clipping into itself and proportionally just looks wrong to me. And I cannot even quite pinpoint why. Aside from that, watch out for your lighting source being too close to you, because it threatens to wash you out a bit.
Eldaena:
Gangly Zilla - You're on fire...! Er...water? You know what I mean! This is spectacular. I really love this screenshot because of how peaceful, yet powerful you look. The only thing that looks a tiny bit weird is the tail, but I know there isn't anything that can be done. It's not too often that I want to make the ENTM screenshots as my personal background on my computer, but this week, you and Katarh really impressed me. Amazing work, and keep it up!
Mackayla Lane - This is really beautiful. I feel like your character is doing some kind of meditation/yoga poses in a secluded area. I like the lighting, and you hit it with the monochromatic. The texture of the stone wall is also interesting to look at. Great job!
Iris Dawnshade - This too has a peaceful vibe to it. The colors are nice and I like the pose. The only critique I really have is how simple it is, and since it's mainly sky in your background, the left bottom mountains are a tiny bit distracting. Still pretty though, so we'll see you next week!
Nadede Lasalle - I like your color scheme! Your pose was pretty interesting too. Nice job getting all of your character in the shot. I like the castle-ly thing in your background too. I feel like the trees and the stone/hill to the left is breaking up some of the monochromatic a bit, but overall I still really like the shot. Good luck!
Jester Ehrenfeld - So cute! I like the idea, and having your eyes closed makes me feel like you're trying to grow! lol The lightning isn't super dynamic, and the plant textures aren't the best (fix the grass SE!), but I still think your shot was really cool and creative. Keep up the good work!
Shayera Tano - This is really pretty too. Everyone did such a great job this week! I'm really impressed. The metallic blue you chose looks really stunning in this shot. You look majestic, keep up the good work!
Bastien Felicieux - I like that you're trying to get a unique pose with the spell and all the neat particle effects. I think you could have used a bit better lightning on your face area and capturing a different part of the spell sequence since you look a bit like you're in pain here. Otherwise, cool theme!

There's no way I could fit all the shots I took in one post, I actually had a lot I liked, but I felt the one I chose showcased the stars the best... I had some really nice Fair Skies shots before I did a double take on the directions that specifically say clear skies... but they're so pretty! I also had a lot of nice moon shots, but they de-emphasized the stars, so I chose not to use those either...
