Somehow i get the feeling they done that on purpose!
I mean: There must be a reason why they dont give tokens any more, even when desperately adding them on 1.x before...
Ok that may be just a guess, but at this time i am looking forward to see gold saucer.
But If so, why dont they allow us to accumulate the currency ahead of time?
Or I just wish/hope that Square Enix know what they do and just have not released the solution.

0/74 on Ifrit Sword.... Frustrating but ill keep going until i get it. The currency reward is a bonus though so even though youre doing it a 100 times you're slowly getting DL gear :P

Whilst I haven't started Primal HM fights yet, this issue concerns me. I don't want to do fights over 50/100 times just for a chance at progression, but I don't want to trivialize the fight so everyone gets a weapon fast and no one bothers anymore. There has to be a happy medium.
My own suggestion: Have a separate token system for each of the HM primals. Each fight, you gain 1 Ifrit/Garuda/Titan token. Once you reach 10 or 20 tokens, you can trade them in at the end of a fight for a primal weapon.
However, we still keep the 1 random weapon drop per kill as it is. The addition is that if you want the random weapon, (say, your job weapon drops), you forfeit all the relevant primal tokens you gathered if you win the roll on the item. Resetting the tokens after obtaining a weapon will make sure that people still come back for primal fights for later weapons.
There, problem solved. you still have the chance of getting your weapon early, but you will definately have it eventually.

I've already given up hope on Ifrit's Sword and just moved on to do Garuda. I just hope I have better luck with her than with the book-dropping burning son of b.....
I fully support the token idea.
