Jump No Longer Necessary after Patch 1.17

I can run up the side of a cliff like Scooby Doo now. That's far more entertaining than jumping.

this is why the game will fail, a debate over jumping??? really? whats gonna happen when the time comes for real changes? anything they add to a game is a plus, if you dont want to jump then dont hit the jump key,

LOL fairly silly but I agree. The debate is dumb anyhow. The only reason because jump was not in FFIXV is because SE simply does not care about conventional MMO standards. They made their own thing and failed. Jump is something that should be in the game period. And like I said before, alot of people want it, I want it, and the casuals want it. So with Yoshida at the helm and the direction he is taking, jumping will be implemented in someway whether you like or not.

You people don't seem to realize that at this point, there is no way to add free jumping. I play with a game pad, and ALL my buttons are taken by important in game commands. There is no room for a jump button unless they get rid of something, but that will make more problems, especially when the ps3 version comes out. You play with a controller on the ps3, not a key board, and all the buttons on a normal ps3 game pad are used at this point.

They will probably have zelda based jumping if anything. Use your brains people -_-

You people don't seem to realize that at this point, there is plenty of ways to add free jumping. Reconfigure your gamepad, or Use a keyboard since gamepads suck for MMOs. Different buttons can do different things in different contexts.

you forget that this game is going to be released on the ps3, and therefore is going to need to work with a controller. If it was only going to be on the pc this would be an option, but it's not.

It's called customizable key mapping.

Yes, I don't think people have thought about this. I'm against free jumping but not against automatic, something Zelda style.
Even if I wanted free jump, all my controller buttons are all used up with important actions also.

Would be kinda odd if they added free-jump then only PC users could use it. I wonder how many PS3 users would be frustrated about that.

Well you guys didn't want jump anyway. Good news! Now you don't have to use it because you don't want to make room for it on your controller.
