A challenge. Make Bard more Bard.

Um, hopefully whipping out an instrument is "optional" lol... I mean I always see myself as an archer character with bows and arrows and wasn't a fan of having to be a BRD at the end (not a fan of BRD's AF). Of course I can just stick with ARC class but its not beneficiary towards the party so there are some people, like me, that loves playing as archer/bard but prefers to not don the BRD's aesthetics (ie. whipping out a musical instrument in the middle of a fight). I'm not trying to act all macho or anything but I hope that archer/bard have a choice of showing/hiding the instrument playing animation during gameplay.

This makes me happy.

OHMERGOSH! This is perfect, in all honesty instruments would make the perfect off-hand for the bard, different instruments = different songs!

I wonder if we'll actually be able to equip instruments with stats and such, or if we'll just be using instruments just for animation purposes.

good question. I assume since they remove ammo, that equipment slot might change to something else.

Sorry guys, I'm just gonna respond to OP because I'm lazy.

If our Bard is not a bard you clearly don't know bard. A bard is a rouge with extensive knowlage in lore and magic. They dress flamboiently to draw attention to there tales and make themselfs more attractive to the eye. This explains our AF and why it is so ferliy and robust it also expains why it enhances our songs.

A rouge doesn't nessarly need to use daggers to be a rouge, a rouge can be any type of stelthy, sneaky person, an Archer can be considered a rouge if they use steath to fight from a range and support others. It would also explain some of Archers native skills.

Bards understanding of magic is why we have access to conj and thm as our sub-classes. I'm sure I don't need to explian that.

As millions of others have posted, the only thing bard lacks is ture insterments. And I'm sure they could be properly implemented if we wished it and SE was willing to oblige. Harps, Flues, and Lutes would be nice and could provide minor boosts to curtian types of songs.

stop being lazy, this part is exactly what I suggested in the OP. -_-

I view the jobs as more of an enhancement of our original class. Its not an entirely new class, and Bards like Aion's (not to bash them or anything seeing as I am a lady) are a bit to girly for my taste. I'm killing monsters not turning them into dancing penguins *cough*. FF has always been about battle, fantastical and magical (but rather depressing if you really think about the storylines), monster and character killing battle.

So I have to say I like our existing Bard and would like to see more.

I don't think you quiet understand the bold sentences in OP. As a matter of fact you missed the big picture almost entirely along with a few individuals.


I'll cut straight to the point. Consider the following suggestions;

Bard should take out musical instruments when playing songs.

Aion Bard was used as a reference only because. :hint: they use a musical instrument..

I never suggested changing the play style of Bard. The only idea suggested is giving songs instrumental animations like actually taking out an instrument to cast songs.
