[Feedback] Wuk Lamat's English Voice

Some of you all, need to stop bringing up other aspects of the game as strawmen against the topic.
Few being how the content is ran or fees.
And as with voices, internal, external or otherwise and other types.

it's still subjective, so even if two people watched the same terrible fan creation. some may spot different negatives and positives from a situation.

We really just need to see.

to point out that the trailer voice is a Rothgal. no one really had any issues. and just like some said before. it was obvious. <unless you were some of the few who didn't pay attention at that part of the trailer, and realize it wasn't alphinaud or erenville.> how you even confuse those two elezen and viera as well is astonishing but understandable if you're not paying attention at the time.)

See how it turns out, Wuk Lamat will improve and find their way of doing.

And like the Twins Voices in ARR. we will just need to see how it goes throughout DT to understand how the Voice fits.

And not give the devs a well needed pay increase? Listen you know as well as I do the devs of the game have to have a one month break every patch cycle and that cant pay for itself. Not to mention the increasing costs of everything else. Especially the devs who work the cash shop and produce quality products every month. Do you know how much those devs in particular need a raise. The players should be greatful, not more demanding of the devs

I think her voice is great..... why are you guys afraid of warrior women? She is absolutely awesome in every possible way.

Really was something needed for this game, it is the best patch for several years.

I don’t think the actor’s country of origin matters for voice acting.
If it’s so important, they should recast every elezen’s voice actors because they’re supposed inspired by the French.
Also they’d want to recast Othard and prolly Garleans too, if they need to be voiced by people of countries the regions are inspired by.

Some people are just pointing out she’s American to have a reason to hate on her and that’s cringe.

Can you cite where the devs are not paid enough? or are being over worked? glassdoor reviews/stats?

Thing is this isn't the first time we've had a different accent in the game, hell a good portion of EW was Thavnair where every character had a very clear Indian accent. This is legit just people complaining for the sake of complaining. I personally think she did a fine job as Wuk Lamat.

She is, also she is not good at Eorzean either as of language that is, it will explain things.

She is much different... and maybe should look more at like a huntress/warrior hybrid instead, but there is more to it.. she is straight forward with things, which no other NPC really is at all in FFXIV... embrace the change, don't fight it.

Because she is also a person adopted into nobility and isn't the "GRRRRRAAAAHHHH SMASH EVERYTHING, YEA DRINKING AND VIOLENCE" DnD-born stereotype that people think warriors are. Moenbryda didn't sound like a stereotypical warrior woman yet her main weapon was an axe, Lyse was also a physical fighter and her voice didn't fit the stereotype. Hell, if you made someone without any knowledge of FFXIV listen to anything Thancred said in ShB or EW they wouldn't flag as coming from a tank-focused character. This is once more complaining for the sake of complaining. It's easier to point to the few characters that match their job type than it is to characters that don't fit a fantasy class stereotype.

Throughout history it was more common to find martial discplined people to engage in various cultural works, especially if they were nobleborn or adopted into it because a leader needs to be versatile and know more. A good example is Ghengis Khan who lead steppe tribes commonly viewed as 'barbaric' into an effecient military force that created one of the biggest empires in human history. He was not only a note-worthy fighter but was incredibly skilled with logistics and administrating the Mongolian Empire, he valued art, history and would rebuild cities he completely conquered and destroyed by sparing builders, architects, artists and various other skilled professions.

Correct she doesn't sound like a warrior woman because she isn't a class stereotype, she sounds like a regular person because that's how the game often portrays characters.
