That's kind of the point, isn't it? "Savage" difficulty. If they nerf savage again what are people going to ask for next? Nerf ultimate?
Savage is very accessible right now. It may seem overwhelming to a new raider, but if you look at individual roles and what you have to do, it's really not that difficult. The main difficulty comes in the form of group coordination and group consistency.
So what should you do? Find a casual group and do it for the social aspect until you get used to it. Create an environment where it's not stressful and where people won't get angry over mistakes.
If they did need Savage again, there would be a pretty sizeable gap between Savage and Ultimate difficulty wise. I wonder if they'd made something to fill that gap to help players better climb the difficulty ladder.
Savage shouldn’t be nerfed at all, really. OP seems to be neglecting the fact that Extremes serve as the intermediate step between other level 80 content and Savage. Extremes could stand to be made a little bit harder, in my opinion. They’re a far cry from Thordan and Sephirot, which felt like they lived up to the “Extreme” tag. Even Nidhogg and Sophia—both were easier than their predecessors, but they were very engaging mechanically. I’ve felt like EX has lost both the difficulty and the mechanic engagement it used to have, with very few exceptions (phase 1 Shinryu, some parts of Suzaku).
Honestly, there’s a larger gap now between Savage difficulty and Ultimate difficulty, since Savage has been watered down consistently since Midas (we won’t count the mistake that was Gordias). Only Alphascape can really match Creator difficulty, which was still easier than Midas was. Deltascape and Sigmascape were jokes and no where near the “Creator difficulty” the devs said they were. And, honestly, the only difficult fight this tier was E8S. If only because Light Rampant is such a touchy mechanics.
The conversation was pretty much done, but the trash regulars are still coming in to scream at people.

Different folks want the game to be different things. A pretty normal human situation involving personal preferences. Apparently, some players want the game to be a challenge for the cut-throat, elitist, 8-hour-a-day crowd.
Others want the game to be an entertaining, diversion and pleasant escape from reality for a while more than a dedicated job requiring blood, sweat and tears to compete in. I think the majority probably falls into the latter category. It's just that the former group tends to be a lot louder about whining to get their own way.
May the majority rule!
