The only difference between Alcohol and so called "hard drugs" is that Alcohol is legal. Once upon a time it was considered an illegal substance and "harmful to your health". It wasn't until the prohibition where it became legal again and was taxed and moderated. Now people love to drink and be merry and there are advertisements for it all over the place. But, people still die from alcohol every day. Driving next to (sitting next to) someone who has been drinking has a higher probability of second hand death than sitting next to a smoker. The difference is, you can walk away from a smoker. You can not walk away from a drunk driver.
Alcohol also lowers inhibitions and can lead to fights or worse. So sitting next to someone who is drinking is not as "safe" to bystanders as you'd think.
This is not a PSA to not drink by any stretch of the imagination. However, if you can not make the correlation between Alcohol being bad and Cigarettes being bad then we have to start looking at the similarities a little closer. Fact is they both kill people but people continue to enjoy their little pleasures. Not only bad people smoke. News flash, Yoshi P smokes cigarettes. Not saying it's cool now because he does it, but what I'm saying is you can not live life through rose colored glasses and point fingers at people because they choose to enjoy their lives differently than you do.
