Consolidated Scholar 4.0 Feedback Thread

My grief comes from having to take Eye for an eye as a role action or otherwise I have a useless level 56 skill. Sch gets one less role slot than the other healers because of this.

Anyone who used Deployment Tactics solely for Eye for an Eye is an idiot. Don't exaggerate the situation there. Deployment is primarily to push the Adloquium shield, with E4E being a happy bonus, but spreading E4E alone was never its primary function and not being able to do so certainly doesn't make it useless.

Exactly this, E4E spread is useful in very little situations (completely useless outside of trials). even in trials it really depends what you're replacing E4E with, most people won't miss it over Swift Cast, Esuna, Lucid Dreaming, Protect, Largesse.

That is just NOT true. Physick (400) heals or me for ~7500 and Fey Union (480) for ~5500. Fey Union can crit for ~8500 but that's the exception, not the rule. Maybe you should test it out for yourself first?

Edit: On top of that it seems that Fey Union isn't affected by Rouse or Fey Illumination since it's an ability. I did test it and noticed an increased heal with Embrace, but not with Fey Union, rendering that skill even more useless.

It really feels like when it came to WHM and SCH, they didn't look into anything fun to give them at all.

When an AST can sheild and mitigate better than you, heal for more than WHM, and offer it's own support... there's a huge problem.

WHM flows incredibly well and is very fun. It's engaging with low cooldowns, two powerful dots, assize and Stone IV feels fantastic to use. No MP issues at all and god tier in dungeons. I don't feel that WHM is that much weaker than Astrologion at all if played correctly.

you mean a great level 56 skill the shield is the best part plus if us schs wanna complain look at whm 3 skills taken away

Fey union heals for 5.5k per tick at ilvl314 physick does 7300 and its 480potency for tether 400potency for physick, it is NOT player potency based.

Right now, they could double the healing potency of all scholar heals, and it would only just barely break even with whm and ast for throughput. It was fine for sch to have lower healing throughput in the past, because we had several skills for reducing incoming damage (sacred soil, virus, eye for an eye, adloquium), and with good cooldown management, we could reduce incoming damage enough to offset the lower healing. Using aetherflow efficiently allowed us to respond to burst damage.

Now, fast-forward to the present, we've lost virus and eye for an eye (we could take it, but so can the other healers, so its not really a scholar tool anymore), adloquium was hit with 3 nerfs (higher mp cost, lower mp recovery, and lower crit multiplier). only sacred soil was kept the same, but it isn't enough. Now, just to keep up with the normal healing required, we have to use aetherflow stacks regularly, which I suppose is supposed to encourage us to use the clumbsy fey union. However, we have less spare aetherflow, because we have to use it for standard tank and group healing now, since our spell potency isn't anywhere near up to the task.

Sch has always been the least efficient healer, but also the one with the most mp recovery. We've lost the mp recovery edge, and our efficiency was made even worse. these multiplicative nerfs to scholar have killed any sense of fun with it. At the very least, we deserve an apology, and an explanation of what they were trying to accomplish with it.
