Perhaps we'll get an official response at some point. Someone on reddit was doing an interview in March and I submitted a few of the questions that came up in this thread to be asked, but they didn't get too many votes so I'm not sure it will be brought up. Maybe the next live letter? Are the community team members allowed to interact with us?

This, instead of eleven hour flight to Germany an in depth stream about the housing issue. But they don't like answering questions about housing it makes them look bad, sadly. Or at least questions of any merit. The paissa club will probably be answered before anything concrete.

I don't really understand why anyone would absolutely need to move their personal house. We plan to move our FC house because we bought a Medium sized house years ago, we couldn't afford anything larger due to the lack of players and very small economy of our server. We have remained at this house because we have put a lot of work into our airships being a small FC, we did not want to throw that work away. The only reason that I can see that anyone would absolutely need to move their house is to keep the airships. Anything other than that, you could just buy a house and sell your old one.

Without moving you have to completely drop the house, running the risk that someone will get to the new plot before you get there while at the same time losing the old plot. You can also end up without things like seasonal food that are no longer purchasable in-game.

Because many players, FCs included purchased their plots back in 2.x, when new housing wards that fit their aesthetic appeal more appropriately were unavailable.
It's like refusing players the ability to play as an Au Ra, just because they made their character before the race was available.


It's no secret that Shirogane will appeal to a very large audience that already have a house, however many others will choose not to relocate because they are not interested in the eastern themed housing. Further on this is that many players who wish to purchase a house but do not like the eastern theme, will get the opportunity to purchase plots as they become available in the 2.x zones due to relocating players.
Further on this, those zones will likely be an alternative option for those that miss out on the new plots in Shirogane because they will be put on sale after relocation - so the chance of obtaining a plot that isn't as highly contested (as Shirogane will likely be the focus) is an option for those who are a little slower off the mark.

Locking players out of being able to relocate without the risk of relinquishing is just flat out unfair.
Remember as well that it isn't "free". The cost of relocation is rather significant (full price - 30% of current land value).
This only further removes a chunk of gil on the servers (which is absolutely needed at the moment), as the game effectively removes an extra 70% of the cost of 1 plot.
So for the net loss of one available plot, the game removes 170% of the plot price, instead of the 100% if someone did not own a house originally.
(70% for the relocation + 100% for the new owner of the old plot).

The relocation system is nothing but good for the game. It removes more gil out of the economy, it allows players & FCs who purchased the original plots to change to a location that is potentially more fitting to their aesthetic appeal, and does not reduce the number of total plots available to new players.

it will be bloody of that you can be sure, friendships may break, subs may go down for awhile, and hate will be every where. the devs dread this too which is why they hesitate every time to give us plots as we demand them. bottom line their system for housing is greatly flawed and needs to be looked at more in depth and re-drawn so that all parties are satisfied and pleased with the outcome otherwise they'll continue to hear negativity about it in threads such as these

In all honesty and i know it may sound lame but since i have been trying to get housing since it first released and i do not get one this time around i may very well unsub

everyone knows it's flawed, how do you know that they haven't looked at it very in-depth? you can never satisfy all parties and they are limited by time and budget constraints.

we don't know how much work is being placed into the housing matters, but we do know that the priorities they adhere to are raids,dungeons, and primals. then after those comes things like lost canals and palace of the dead, everything else comes later. so in a sense yes they are limited by budget and time constraints. but thats because their resources are poured into more important things. housing is a "quality of life" adjustment/addition therefore its of little priority, but we as fans are always demanding that somethings change about it or that they add more for us, so is it really unfair of us to ask that they put just a little more of development time into it?

this is not a "little more", this is a massive overhaul. i haven't read anyone suggest anything that remotely come closes to something that can be done without huge amounts of resources or time, and they still won't satisfy all parties.
