Most of the stuff in the optional items on the Mog Station are overpriced. In fact, they're some of the most overpriced microtransactions I've ever seen. There are items that cost as much as full DLC do for other games (even ones published by Square Enix). The majority of players who have been on the game since the 2.0 series bought the entirety of Heavensward for ~$30 USD, right? I mean come on, that's literally how much the moogle mount is.
Yes, these are OPTIONAL ITEMS. We all know that. But it's undeniable that many of the prices are absurdly high for what you get. Maybe some of you think it's worth it. And you could say the price is whatever the customer is willing to pay. I, however, do not see the worth of most of those items as the prices they are being sold at. As much as I want the Far Eastern Garb for my alt, there's no way in the 7 hells I'll pay $18 for it.
Like, if I gave you $60 and told you you could only use it to either: buy a few items on the mog station (for the sake of example say: the moogle mount, far eastern garb for your character's sex, the doman barding, and 2 pots of dye; just to equal $60) OR buy that $60 game with good reviews you've been eying over there on Steam/GoG/PSN/XBL/whatever: Which would you go for?
Personally, I'd choose the game because I see more value in it. But that's just me.
Thing is, some people have this thing called disposable income. and they like to put it towards whatever the hell they want to lol. Calling people who buy stuff off the cash shop out on it is just silly. It'd be like someone walking up to you in a store when you are picking out a snack, and smacking your hand and saying NO thats BAD for you and YOU are the reason why America is fat!
And before anyone says "Your just defending it cuz you bought it" I am likely not going to get the most recent addition, nor have I purchased any of the mounts. I'm not a fan of the way this dress clips, even though its minimal (or the rear skirt, but thats another matter) and the price isnt worth it to me. But I'm not going to tell someone how to spend their money.
Shame we didn't all ask for this kind of stuff ingame instead out of pocket no?
As it stands people who 5hink it's worth it will buy it and possibly set a new standard for cash shop prices.
After reading this thread it seems the ones that complains the most are they who want it but dont want to pay for it.
Is it wrong I don't care for the price as the way I see it, if you have no issues with the price and want it then get it. I do understand the fears of things getting over priced but if that's the case. Video games are overly priced as is, not saying thats ok.. but that is the world we live in. You don't HAVE to buy the items, you could just say - blank- it and move on. Yes it sucks if you wanted it but can't get it but that's life. You could make the case they could've put it in the game but then people would complain about it being locked behind a grind wall. Look at the new hair locked in deep dungeon. There's no win here, it's either locked behind a grind wall that half of people would hate or what we have now. And the thing is SE is going to listen to the money, and since people who wanted it are buying it there's not much you can do. Well sides not buy it, but hey that's all up to you.
