I seem to have made it through catching bombs during a quiet part of the morning. I've had the opposite problem on the FATEs though. No problem getting gold on the first but 50/50 gold/silver on the second. But yeah, it does not look like the FATEs scale well to large groups of players and aspects of the bomb catching quest are a bit tunnelvisioned.

I found it much easier to do the fates as a healer spamming medica/whatever else you have. PLD flash works as well.

Trying to get credit even with a full party was fruitless until I did this. It definitely feels badly designed.

It's a tough design problem because you want open-world stuff in an mmo instead of instancing everything, but you know a large part of the playerbase want to do new quests as soon as they are available.

The old zones are also very small and they are unable to make event things spawn over a very wide area without interfering with other existing fates, quests and enemy spawn points.

The most obvious thing you could say is don't make any open-world quests where the goal is to keep enemies alive. People can unintentionally kill the enemies causing delays for everyone, or worse a bad person can deliberately stall all players' progress.

Just hope they'll extend the event by the number of days it takes to fix it.

You can't create content in online games expecting people to play nice. Quite the opposite actually, always gotta assume everyone will be selfish and uncaring when you create content. Gotta account for that.

Yep. Seems like a no-brainer. Extremely poor design. Total fail. Even if people are cooperating, there are just far too few bombards for the numbers of people, at least on my highly-poplulated server. 50 people and 5 bombards appearing at a time? And everybody needs three? Not to mention the griefers? Chaos.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of trying to get credit outside of the main design method (splashing water.) I'll keep that in mind for when I go back in.

Balmung has a huge group of them just sitting there at all the spawn points and AOE one-shotting the bombs. One of them is even sitting there all "you can't prove that I am because I don't see the quest D:"

It's really frikken pathetic.

Made me laugh how many people were spaming to report me, even attacking me cause of my name. The salt and rage is real in this event, everyone is like pringles right now.

I didn't have a problem with this. Went in, did the thing with 3 bombs and got out. I don't know why people were forming a line, oh well.
