I would kill for a flag but that wont really populate the world unless there is a reason to join parties.

SE should make it so you can be on a different job than what your seeking party for. For example you want to party on archer rank 30 but want to craft on your weaver rank 10 while you wait for an invite. I'm sure SE can figure out a way to allow this. ^^
