Right, the current model of relinquish fee is simply whack. But to most people, that's the best they can get.
If SE would implement house trading, it will at least move the items faster and establish real price that the players control.. As it stands right now, the original price is nothing more than an illusion for most servers because you have to account for relinquish fees. It the trade system was officially implemented, then we would have an easier time accepting 20, 30m for houses as its real price that we shape.
Most players while they're leveling, may have seen smalls in the range of 2-3m and mediums in ~10m range (fully depreciated) that's why it's so hard to get over that mental hurdle of accepting the new price when it's more than quadruple the original amount.. It's like somebody from the 70s time traveling to today and having to accept paying $2 for a bottle of soda.. With the house prices, we have seen some huge inflation and the memories of yesteryear does not help.. Same reason I can't imagine buying a house irl in the current market (not that I can afford one) when I saw the same houses for almost half the prices just 5 years ago :(
But given enough time, and the ability to actually trade houses instead of just forfeiting then rebuying, I'm sure the player base will come to accept the new prices for what they are..

Ia there any info about housing when the expansion comes out? Are the going to add new wards to the current ones? I've heard all sorts of things when it came to this.

We think we're getting additional wards "shortly after" 3.0. This could mean a small update or 3.1. Housing within Coerthas itself isn't coming for a good while.
