The White Mages of Amdapor did not summon Diabolos.

Diabolos was summoned by the enemies of Amdapor in an attempt to destroy the city. The White Mages sealed Diabolos away within the Sanctum of Dreams. It wasn't even Diabolos that destroyed the city either. The overuse of magic (both white and black) during the War of Magi drained the land of Aether and caused the Elemental of Nihility, Oha-Sok, to become enraged and call forth a mighty rainstorm that flooded Eorzea.

Also, Belah'dia was a 6th Astral Era civilization while Amdapor and Nym both flourished during the 5th Astral Era. We can also say "the enemies" of Amdapor were most certainly not the Nymians, as they were never historically known for practicing Black Magic. The Nymian history, from what we can tell, is also filled with stories of enemies from across the seas attacking, though never conquering, ancient Nym. From this we can conclude that there was a third civilization which flourished during the 5th Astral Era that is woefully unaccounted for in the annals of Eorzean history.

I think some people are missing the main point here haha, they should be saving things like this for content down the road. The whole, Three new dungeons,1 primal and new tombstones isn't going to set well with me for to much longer. Why waste such good content on a dungeon and not just make a new boss? Think about the big picture people, not " Stop qq'n and deal with it, it's not a well known summon". This is true however, this game needs more diverse content! Even if it's months from now, perhaps make a expansion with more summons in it! They could also do this... Make different modes of dungeons, Casual,hard and hardcore or something like that. Make it a challenge SE, stop spoon feeding!

The way I see it, and maybe people won't agree with me, I dunno, I didn't read through the entire thread, but this is FFXIV, not FFXI. Fenrir in XIV is a dungeon boss, not an elder primal, that's just the way it goes. If you want to see Fenrir as something more than a dungeon boss, you're welcome to play FFXI to your heart's content, but it's not right to come here and think that this has to be FFXI-2, it's just not going to happen, there may be a few similarities between the two, but fundamentally they're completely different, FFXII took place in Ivalice, didn't it? Did people complain that Ramza or Marche weren't in it?

Atomos was also once an event boss, killed lv1-50 players who teleported to aetherytes ^^

Aye Atomos was epic back in Version 1.23. Was so weird seeing him be a mini-boss in Labyrinth of the Ancients.
