Chocobo Dye Experimentation

Fed mine 7 mamook pear, which had the 'growing feathers' msg on the 7th, I am aiming for Apple Green. Another friend of mine is going for Lotus Pink, I will have him feed his Apple and Berries.

Stable condition: Good

Color aim: Apple Green
Feed 1: 7 pear


Color Aim: Lotus Pink
Feed 1: 3 apples

Desert Yellow -215 183 87 - HEX: D7 B7 57

my goal is -
Colibri Pink - 215 151 199 -HEX: D7 97 C7

so by my math I need the following changes - R: 0 G: -2 B: +7
if I did my math right that would be 7 berries and 2 valifruit or is it 2 pears and 7 pineapples?

EDIT: I was trying to find the math on prior pages but don't know if it is there - but I was trying to see what the approximate values for each fruit was I know they basically boil down to Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, Magenta but didn't know the +/- in which it relates to the hex scale.

So I'm attempting to get Storm blue in one go here. Hoping to confirm what others have done. I'm starting on Desert yellow, It'll be the first time I've ever tried to change his color.

Stable Conditions: Good
Start color: Desert Yellow
Target color: Storm Blue
Berries fed: 21 total with 19 procs.
Apples fed: 1 with 1 proc.

There seems to be some merit with the waiting for a few minutes after feeding the first fruit. tried feeding him another right after the first and it didn't proc. waited for 5 minutes after that then every single fruit proc'd for me without having to wait in between. Could be coincidence or it might not. might be something to take into consideration however.

Results will be up in 6 hours. Now the fun part of waiting...

We do not have any solid data on the math of how this works.

I am testing this myself using x-apples and see if we can come up with a pattern. There are a lot of discussion going on, and I haven't gone back and scan if anyone is doing the same as I with the green/blue fruits.

I do believe that the one thing we can confirm is when you deepen one scale, you can reverse it with a lighten fruit.

Colored mine into Honey Yellow with 6 Cieldalaes Pineapple, now I was giving him new fruit until a message about new feathers appear. I have given him 6 Xelphatol Apple until that msg. appeared and I stopped. I wonder what results will come out tomorrow :3 I bought those on markets so this experiment costs me quiet a lot >,< Also just in case a Han Lemon is growing in my FC yard.

so I am thinking then it is the pear / pineapple combo - may try it and just see what happens

From everything I've seen in my own experiments (including ones not listed in the document my first post links to), this is correct. Using the opposite fruit will take you backwards. I haven't tried it with multiple fruits yet, though.

but are the opposite fruits the same color - such as darken red / lighten red or is it something else - can't remember the opposites as far as the color wheel goes of the top of my head right now
