The spiritbond and materia drop changes are unacceptable to me. I find it hard to stay subbed outside of being reliable for my raid group.

Yeah... If crafting/gathering materia prices end up doing what I expect, that'll pretty much remove that aspect of the game for me as well.
I was slowly and begrudgingly starting to get my crafting level back up there (and bankrupted myself in the process), but I could see this stopping me dead in my tracks.

No no no! It'll be far more fiendish than that. You'll need to grow 600 special logs, each of which take a week to grow (once you have the seeds). Several years later you'll need crafting ilvl275 to craft these into lumber, which can then be made into your own rudimentary hut. Plumbing will come later. But by then you'll just be able to buy the whole deal for 20 myth :)

I'm not thrilled; I'll just leave it at that. :/

You made me think of the fact that for 270 allied seals, you can obtain all the starter 90s gear with accessories.

Last time I checked you didn't need to be in a Free Company to communicate or play with other players. Source: Duty Finder, Party Finder, Friend List, Linkshells, Tells & Shouts, Party's.
