I strongly believe that in the future NM's in ffxiv will drop both pre-made item and craftable item. Like what SE has mention, they are trying to cater the game to casual gamer too thus i strongly believe that both type of items can be loot. Maybe the difference is in the stats that's all.

I think only people with no relationship or people who like to solo all the time would hate how he/she need to rely other in this game. But I think this is how MMO suppose to be. People need to make friends and work as team.

I believe that the NM's should have equal drops of actual gear and crafted gear, no the game shouldn't revolve around crafting but on the flip side, no the crafter's shouldn't just be pushes aside. Instead of people arguing over who's virtual character has the bigger e-peen because they are better than a crafter/gatherer, how about players work together... which is the bloody point of a MMO. Get off your virtual high horse, stop putting down classes because some don't LIKE that class, and figure out ways we can BALANCE the game and make every class important in it's OWN way. People who are putting down a class and saying it should be less important just because they don't like it are only gonna come out looking like childish players who feel this game should revolve around how they want to play it and forget everyone else who doesn't agree.

Last time I looked it was only the high level NM's that dropped supplies that crafters could use to make gear. There are 20 new mid-range NM's that drop not only regular gear that can be used but premade NM gear/weapons that don't need a crafter at all. So how is that the game revolve around crafters because people spend hours fighting NM's and then need crafters to make it?Quote:

Of course the gatherers are in there too, which are a blessing to any crafting class. <3
Now stop the hate and appreciate that EVERYONE in this game WORKS together to make this game BETTER. -

I'm all for crafters having things to do. That being said, A carpenter cant save the world (except for Jesus) or adequately contribute to a raid. I like the direction these jobs and dungeons are going with REAL challenge and epic loot (not materials).
Now crafters should be able to craft goods, and run things like supply missions for Companies and maybe later on have them working together on huge projetcs, and I know I will definately want them to "sew" on my Materia. I just don't want endgame content dumbed-down so that a weaver can save the world from the Garlean Empire, and I want to get awesome loot drops for my effort, not mats...... -

I dont think is fair for crafters just be a tool for repairing only, what good that is? better kick out crafters and put in a cheap Repair NPC than having crafters repairs your gearz. Crafter and gathering class are created for a purpose, to kick out that is stupid, better improved it.
They should put uber L337 items as materials for crafters.
I mean, look at the last NMs, we have to get the materials to even make the items, that by far the best thing i ever seen (although i haven't get any yet :P ) -

Why are crafters complaining about possibly getting screwed? As it currently stands crafters are rich or they should be by now. The amount of money available to the crafters is immense in its current state. Gear should drop for battlecraft classes, not mats. Dropping just mats gives too much power to the crafters. I think crafters should have access to special gear for themselves, just as battlecraft classes should have access to special gear for themselves.
Gatherers have been screwed from the start and have been unable to make money and crafters benefit from them. Crafters have had it pretty damn good if you ask me. -
