Chocobo dyeing R&D Thread - Post your results here!

Would it be easier to get to black, if you start your Chocobo going Snow White, which apparently is very is with a bunch of plums and then darken all the colors evenly until you get to Soot Black? Anybody want to give that a try?

Okay I'll give it a shot, but ifyou didn't see I'll ask again just in case: "One more question though, should I rotate feeding the fruit ie: plum -> pineapple -> valfruit? or just do 5 5 5." I tried to ninja-edited my previous post before you replied in an attempt to not to over-post and be especially irritating if I'm not already. lol

Edit (again!): THANK YOU!!! for all your help and for putting up with me! I'll post my results in the morning.

I did kind of the opposite... I darkened down excessively to what I think would be 0 5 0 RGB... then evenly worked up lighten fruits to achieve a balance that would be in Soot Black range. Got Ink Blue again.

I highly think there's just RNG and those of us stuck on the 'loop' have just been having bad luck with it.

Any one have a idea how to get from wind red Soot Black? any help would be awesome.

followed this information: Pineapple (fed these until I saw the "growing new feathers message), 1 Apple, 1 Pear and then 1 Pear, 1 Berry and 1 Apple all in the same sitting. I got the "growing new feathers" message for each fruit after getting it the first time from the pineapple.

good luck with your soot black chocobo. i obviously can't guarantee it will be soot black because there seems to be some RNG but i had currant purple and followed the above steps and hit soot black.

There is so much to sift through on here. Any ideas what I should do from Ink Blue to get Soot Black. Thanks in advance.

Okay...

I'm getting completely fed up at this point
I have gone from:

Darkwood Green -> (one Valfruit) ->> Void Blue
Void Blue wend Back to Darkwood Green.

So i fed it another single valfruit again and now... It's Currant Purple..

I'm on the verge of completely giving up on soot black Ink blue at this point...
I cant wait 6 hours to have a terrible result every time.. and get further and further from the result that has been "Confirmed" to work

what in the hell am i supposed to do on this? 50 people have told me im "So Close" and that im one fruit away and i follow the advice that im given and i get further again?... it's just getting unbearable.

I went from Darkwood Green to Ink Blue with one Valfruit. I'm not sure what to do to get to Black.
