Bard - they broke my job

Actually if you're handling bluefire, it gimps your dps so hard you might as well not be dpsing at all. A good example I could come up with is Ravana during beetle phase and you're kiting the orbs...but during that he has a damage reduction buff. Everything else is more or less on point though, it almost gets to the point that it's an extremely small dps gain for BRD (talking single digits here) to be able to squeeze in the auto attacks, assuming there wasn't a BL reset, otherwise its a loss.

What do you mean glory days? Right now bard is the best it's ever been if you're actually good at the job.

Actually Bard was at its best at the release of The Coil of Bahamut where groups would take multiple Bards for their absurdly high damage at the time.

I don't know if you know this, but BRD is actually the highest dps in an optimal comp. In a vacuum other jobs do more, but right now bards top parses in speed clears.

But do they do top damage outside of the vacuum now with multiple bards? Cause that's what they were doing in early Coil.

That's like saying monk was broken because it topped damage in 3.4 before anyone leveled ninja. You take a Bard AND a MCH.

That's not saying that at all. The damage bard did in early coil warranted bringing MULTIPLE bards instead of the utility combinations of different classes. This situation is more akin to what you're describing as todays Bards.

I'm just saying that a time where a party could want 3-4 bards instead of todays 1 makes it a clear winner of the apex of Bards existence in terms of DPS contribution (Especially when we evaluate Raid Contribution too)
