If I remember correctly, they have said this is temporary while they sort out something they’re doing longer-term with it. So don’t get too attached to having all your skills because they *may* be gone again later. Enjoy it while it lasts though. :)
I'm in no way tryinng to defend the healer but I'd like to point something out if I may ^^
Sometimes I don't notice I don't have a role action equipped but I end up using other role actions which it won't allow me to edit them while others are on cooldown (outside of combat)
I just hope they get away of the role skills and just bake them into the skillsets of the classes and jobs.
I don't care if the skill has the same name on every job it can be used or not. They only should rework the animations to better fit to the corresponding job.
This is what I'm hoping for as well. I actually run Guildhest Roulette and Leveling Roulette almost daily as a lazy way to accumulate GC seals to fund Airship/Submersible production.
Encountering sprouts that haven't even realized they need to EQUIP Role Actions in a separate menu is a real thing that happens... Having the skills inserted into each job/class 's actions will make the abilities much harder to accidentally overlook.
My next recommendation after that... is that ALL abilities should be LOGICALLY assigned to job/class 's default hotbars already... I shudder to think about how many sprouts and/or trial players try to play with default hotbars... I can clearly imagine a scenario where a new player, who just wants to get into the game... try it out and see if they want to commit to it... foregos rearranging their hotbar to something that is actually USEABLE for way too long.
Customization should still be there... but I'm talking basic things like 1-2-3 combos should be placed adjacent to each other by default.
The Esuna thing is super annoying and happens to me all the time as a healer. 3/4 Savage fights require you to have Surecast to negate knockbacks. There are plenty of times when I log off after raid and the next day head into a mentor roulette. Role skills are the last thing on my mind until it's too late a lot of the time, and you can't change in combat. It's really annoying, both to the healers and those that suffer from it. But I doubt it ever happens on purpose or with malice.
It also happens the other way around when I go to hit Surecast in raid and get esuna instead. So if it's any consolation, we get screwed that way too.
If as an ilvl 24 THM I am consistently ripping Ifrit off of a 60+ geared tank when Diversion ends you may have to just use your threat combo and eat the dps loss because I promise if I die it's a lot worse.
It was so bad Lucid dropped me to 2 and change then just... right back to A.
Even if the poor sprout CNJ had wanted to dps he couldn't really beyond Aero because, shockingly, THMs don't make great tanks.
Please help my squishy mage body not die, just toss in something other than Riot Blade. Flash, Shield lob, I don't care - something .
He has been dying around first to second gate since HW. But the ilevel scaling is around 130ish or so, so augmented ironworks and dreadwyrm stuff (which is still way too much for the content on how its designed) , and thats where it syncs you down to, regardless if your ilevel is 200 or 370 or whatever.
Uhm.. If you are doing Ifrit normal mode, even if the warrior is 60+ with cool gear, it will sync him down to 22, gear to around the same level and he really doesn't have anything special. It shouldn't be hard to hold off against a THM going ham, even if the aggro generated by THM at that level can be surprisingly spicy, (or as ham as that level allows) unless he is doing something stupid like not attacking all the time... Which might actually be the case. :D
I'm aware of how ilvl sync works, my point is that he would be synced down to what is essentially optimal gear for that encounter is while I was in what would amount to 'average'.
My larger point was that this person had played a tank into the 60 range and still couldn't bother to toss in a threat combo or ability when they should really know how to gage those sorts of situations by that time.
If they can't play properly at level 22 imagine having them as your tank at 60. Probably not fun.
So a fun one Sohm Al with my WAR. Rest of the party is newbie SCH, SMN and DRG.
Everything's smooth, the SCH is doing great and nothing major happens.
Except at the last packs before the final boss. The SMN calls out Titan egi and pulls the last packs.
"Welp you pulled out Titan Egi, you pulled the packs, now you tank them" I said. "Whatever" he replied before getting killed.
We kill the final pack and go to the final boss. SMN joined us but still with his Titan egi.
"Are you gonna pull ?" He asks.
"Oh sorry I thought you and Titan were the tanks, so why would I pull ? Please do, I'll watch", I replied.
He stood there doing nothing when finally he called out Ifrit.
We cleared the final boss and before he could leave I just said : "See ? It's not hard being a good little DPS and letting the tank do its job." :p
I might need some tank perspective here. I dont play SMN, i dont really play tank(the DRK levels i have are mostly through circumstance - i BLM and i craft). Does titan being out really make your job that much harder? I know that its not optimal, that isnt what im asking. I have no idea why the SMN would switch like that, but i wonder if it has something to do with "nothing major happens" - which to me sounds like something "minor" happened and maybe spooked him?
But overall your story just sounds petty. Another diva tank throwing a tantrum(and being condescending too at the end - bonus!). I am prepared to change my mind about this, as i said i likely lack the proper perspective. Would someone fill me in?
