As someone who likes it when my character is shorter than other player’s characters. (Without being a Lalafell) I think I’d play one if they did this.

Fun fact: in many rabbit species the females are larger (though not by a large margin) so it would make sense for Viera males to be shorter. But I'd rather the difference be somewhere around 2-4 inches at most, IMO wouldn't make sense for, say a height difference like with male and female Au Ra.
That's my 2 cents on the height discussion.
I would prefer if they end up the same height. I know people want revenge on what happened to au ra but that's au ra's problem.
That's one minor story compared to the rest of the game. I don't think our character even reacted to Thancred saying they had to execute the people tempered by Ifrit.
Yeah... though if they can make the males still look like an adult (or at least over 18) while also being short, then I guess that can be alright. Making the males short and childlike while the females are tall and quite clearly adults is just jarring. While female Au Ra's were indeed short, they still looked over 17-18 and taller than Lalafells.
This.
My primary preference is for no new playable races to be added to the game until the current batch of playable races receive some much needed updates to their character creation options. As far as the differences between male and female Au Ra are concerned...that is entirely based on Yoshi-P's decision to move away from the concept art for the sake of going with something 'cuter'.
If we do get another playable race then I want the men to be big, beefy and masculine. Not necessarily an outright brute but not overly feminine, short or androgynous either.
I'm on the fence with short Viera guys.
On one hand, it's not something we currently have in race variety, on the other, guys would end up in the same boat girls are with female Miqo'te and Au Ra being similarly built, only with male Miqo'te and Viera.
Thing is, if not Viera men then who? I myself want Viera females to be statuesque and fierce, something i feel is conveyed very well in FFXII. With the fact males have yet to be seen in an FF title (to my knowledge), more room for interpretation exist with their design. The irony of the argument is not lost on me, however the question still needs be asked. If not the Viera males, then who or what would be the acceptable race to have Androgynous or Effeminate males in it?
