My blacksmith desynthesis lvl is 85, help please
weaver & goldsmith at 160 np at all
Make Summoning Bells, or Shower Stands, and Desynth them until you are in the 95+ range. Then move on to stuff you buy in Heavensward off of vendors.
Tinker's Bacon helps.
Can you provide source information for the Dusk Leather claim? From what I am hearing, the screenshot that people have been basing it off of was a hoax. I am curious to see if there is some other documented evidence of it coming from that fish.
I'm sorry I've been neglecting this guide. I will update it eventually, and I know a lot of the info on the HW stuff is incorrect or outdated. I threw that up there right around release and haven't gotten back to it.
Things worth noting:
BSM ~110-135: Mythrite Lapidary Hammer (r125) (crafted, not bought, and preferably melded 1-2 times) is the cheapest option here. Last I checked, you could craft them for 10k, but they cost 12.6k from the merchant. They're the only item in this tier that's cheaper to craft than to buy right now, using the prices I pulled down last time I examined them. Also, since they're just mythrite nuggets, cedar lumber, and turquoise, you can farm the mats in large quantities pretty easily (or have retainers do it).
BSM ~130-148: Titanium Scythe (r139) (crafted and double-melded) becomes better. It's just one Titanium Nugget, one Dark Chestnut Branch, and one Cloud Mica Whetstone. So, just mine 100 titanium ore, 25 Dark Chestnut Branches, and 75 Cloud Mica, buy the 25 iron ore and grenade ash from vendors, and quicksynth 25 scythes. Break and repeat. That should work well... My math says that'll get you about 4-5 levels each time depending on where you are in that range.
BSM ~148-160: Adamantite Pliers/Awl (r148) (bought in Matoya's Cave) are the best by a small margin. Melding 2-3 times is still good.
Going past 160 right now with crafted/bought items is pretty terrible. I'd wait for more dungeon and crafter content to be released to really worry about getting past 160 in any class, except CUL, where there are r180 fish. However, if you really want to go past 160 with BSM, Adamantite Main Gauches (melded 2-3 times for cheapest leveling) become better than the pliers/awls. Just keep in mind that you'll be spending about 250k per skill point, and from 160-170 would cost you about 2-3 million. You're much better off waiting for new dungeon drops or turn-ins that are desynthable, in my opinion.
Master GSM can make Celestine, but its not used in anything currently. Nor can the material be mined? (Don't see any on MB or in sold history)
hello ! Someone found how do the Fieldcraft Demimateria III and the Mastercraft Demimateria with the extension? Maybe is with the red marks...
Mastercraft Demimateria can't be obtained from Heavensward items. Fieldcraft Demimateria III likely comes from Disciple of the Hand tools at or near level 60. However, I don't know why you're asking this. If you want those two demimateria, it'd be a lot easier and less expensive to use the same ARR items as always.
Oh, or maybe you're asking what they're used for in Heavensward. The patch notes have the new recipes, and some of them do use Fieldcraft III and Mastercraft.
FC3s spiked in price on my server. They were 90-100k this morning. I only managed to make a million or two off bridesmaid's sandals before someone undercut me to 50k x_x They were moving just fine at 90-100k (selling in about five minutes), undercutting to 50k is just shooting yourself (and everyone else) in the foot, random Faerie desynther :P
Yeah, I saw undercuts by at least 10K each time. I really don't know how these morons tie their shoes in the morning.
Hmm, I didn't get a chance to check the MB this morning before work, but I'll bet Adamantite Nuggets, Aurum Regis Nuggets, Chimerical Felt, and Amphiptere Leather will all be spiking in value due to Red Scrips. If this is the case on your server, some desynths which might give you positive profit margins at dSkill 180:
LTW:All of these desynths also get you an Earth Cluster as a special bonus prize.
- Serpentskin Hunting Belt of Scouting/Striking or Serpentskin Voyager's Belt of Maiming (r148) (all 3 are identical and bought from Repository Node for 11,880, desynths into 1x Adamantite Nugget, 1-2x Amphiptere Leather, or 1-3x BC2 (equal chance of each), or rarely 1x CD3 (Clear Demi 3)) (last I checked, profit on that for my server was, on average, 5k per desynth)
- Serpentskin Tights of Casting (r150) (bought from the Repository Node for 17,820, desynths into 1-2x Amphiptere Leather, 1-2x Chimerical Felt, 1x Crawler Silk, or 1-3x BC2 (equalish chance of each, with BC2s more common), or rarely 1x CD3) (last I checked, profit on that for my server was, on average, 4k per desynth)
- Serpentskin Satchel Belt of Healing (r148) (bought from the Repository Node for 11,880, desynths into 1x Aurum Regis Nugget, 1-2x Amphiptere Leather, or 1-3x BC2 (equal chance of each), or rarely 1x CD3) (last I checked profit on that for my server was, on average, 6k per desynth)
WVR:Weaver has some options for getting the other mats, but I don't think they're likely to be as good. Chimerical Felt Coifs from the Repository Node, for instance, throw in an Aurum Regis Nugget as a drop option along with Crystal Glass. Crystal Glass might have a high value, as it did for a long time on my server, but it shouldn't. It's trivial to make, and only costs like 1k in mats, if that. Chimerical Felt Caps from Idyllshire are another option, involving drops of 1x Aurum Regis Nugget, 1x Titanium Ingot, or 1-2x Chimerical Felt. I don't see a good way for WVR to get Adamantite Nuggets though.
- Chimerical Felt Corset of Casting/Healing (r145) (bought from Idyllshire for 11,484, desynths into 1-2x Chimerical Felt, 1x Crawler Silk, or 1-3x BC2 (equal chance of each), or rarely 1x CD3) (I haven't run the profitability analysis of this, but it should be pretty good if felt is valuable)
- Chimerical Felt Sash of Aiming (r148) (bought from the Repository Node for 11,484, identical drops as the corset above, but yields 1x Lightning Cluster instead of 1-2x Lightning Crystal + 1-2x Wind Crystal, and is slightly higher rlvl)
- Chimerical Felt Breeches of Healing (r148) (bought from the Repository Node for 14,256, desynths into 1x Amphiptere Leather, 1-3x Chimerical Felt, 1x Crawler Silk, or 1-3x BC2 (with equalish chance, BC2s are a bit higher than the rest), or rarely 1x CD3) (this should be more profitable than the above IF Amphiptere Leather, Chimerical Felt, and Crawler Silk are all equally valuable. If Amphiptere Leather is less valuable than the other two, this is likely a worse option than the corsets, unless Chimerical Felt is comedically highly valued (like, 40k+ each))
ARM:(I can't find any other profitable-looking ones for ARM...)
- Adamantite Tassets of Fending/Maiming (r145) (bought from Idyllshire for 11,484, desynths into 1-2x Adamantite Nugget, 1x Dragon Leather, or 1-3x BC2 (equal chance of each), or rarely 1x CD3) (I haven't done analysis on the profitability of this desynth)
GSM:
- Aurum Regis Circlet of Healing (r150) (bought from the Repository Node for 18,711, desynths into 2x Aurum Regis Nugget, 1x Hardsilver Ingot, 1x Chimerical Felt, or 1-3x BC2s (equalish chance of each), or rarely 1x CD3) (This is only positive if Aurum Regis Nuggets spike)
I haven't looked at the other classes, but they're unlikely to be positive. You can't buy accessories at endgame, so CRP is mostly out, and the BSM items are all pretty expensive since they're all mainhands. Same with the ALC books.
I noticed in your culinarian section of the guide, the pirucuru (sp?) is listed at 17.5% catch. I was just fishing them and I was getting 1/4 with lvl 60 HW equips, but the usual bait. It took me under an hour to fish up 20 to level my desynth skill. Also...with HQ tinkers, and NQ broth I had 2.5% on better crowned pies at 76 skill. Did not read if you ever got data on the buffs increasing from a negative skill % or not.
* Shiva bracelet -> Mythrite Nugget, Ice Cluster
* Shiva i115 MNK Fist -> Crit4 Materia (!!), Ice Cluster
* Ramuh Ring -> BC3, Gold Ingot, Lightning Cluster
I'm guessing the Shiva bracelet also breaks into BC3s. The weapon turning into a crit 4 was really surprising, but a little late since all the battle materia are so bluh in price right now.
* Weathered Sirius -> Gold Ingot, Wind Cluster, Fire Cluster
Can anyone tell me what to level on as a 93 weaver? I'm kinda stuck on this T_T
I have GSM Desynth @ 167 which seems easy compared to weaver.
I ate tinkers and bacon broth and turned in all my antique tokens for weaver desynth. I had about 10 of each. I then ate another tinkers and desynthed the il115 NPC belts/sash in ishgard. From there I moved along to the next NPC with gear and did the same all the way to the repository node. I am now at 178. This route may not be as good now, but I started this the day HW came out and as I advanced the storyline on my smn I moved to the new gear at each camp.
I'm stuck at gsm desynth lvl 171, at the repository node, but the lvl 60 circlets ilvl150 don't give me much anymore, how do I get gsm desynth past 171? and what is the total cap? thnx.
I'm surprised you even got to 171. I don't see any way but dungeon gear. In fact, I thought you had to go to dungeon gear at about 160, let alone 170.
Perfect! Thank you! I hadn't gotten that info. That's really good to know! So, 4 points below 0%, + 12.5% = 2.5%? Weird! Unless I'm messing up my math, that's telling me that each point below 0% is worth 2.5%.
The catch rates were based on what I read out of the "Cat Became Hungry" database (ff14angler.com)
I feel that WVR is actually far easier than GSM in the 125-160 range. It's a fair bit harder to get to 125 though. At WVR 93, you may want to consider taking Rainbow Halfgloves of Scouting, melding 2-4 materia to each, and desynthing those with Tinker's Bacon up. With full Tinker's Bacon and 2 melds on each, your chances at 93 of desynthing the r115 gloves is 52%. With 4 melds, it's 62%. If you aren't planning to meld, or only plan to meld once, use Rainbow Sash of Scouting instead (same mats, cheaper from merchant, only has 1 materia slot instead of 2).
Chances are that crafting the gloves will be cheaper than buying them, since they're just two rainbow cloth and one rainbow thread. If you have a retainer bring you back the rainbow cotton bolls and diremite sinew, you should be able to quicksynth the thread/cloth/gloves pretty lazily. You can also buy them for 10k from a vendor in Pillars, but check if 2x rainbow cloth, 1x rainbow thread is less than 10k on the MB or not. If it is, craft them yourself. If not, just buy them.
Check the MB. Find which mats are cheaper and which are more valuable. You want to look for Rainbow Cloth, Holy Rainbow Cloth, Ramie Cloth, Holy Raime Cloth, Chimerical Felt, Crawler Silk.
Key items:
- r115: Rainbow Sash of ... OR Rainbow Halfgloves of ... (see above)
- r125: Holy Rainbow Scarf of Scouting (9.3k from Traveling Merchant in Tailfeather), can desynth into Holy Rainbow Cloth (EY: 0.67)
- r133: Rainbow Apron (7k from Emptier of Purses), can desynth into Holy Rainbow Cloth (EY: 0.33)
- r139: Ramie Skirt (9.5k from Emptier of Purses), can desynth into Holy Rainbow Cloth (EY: 0.22) and Ramie Cloth (EY: 0.44)
- r139: Hallowed Ramie Sash of ... (11k from Zundu Sell-it), can desynth into Holy Ramie Cloth (EY: 0.5)
- r145: Chimerical Felt Corset of ... (11.4k from Goblin Trader), can desynth into Chimerical Felt (EY: 0.5) and Crawler Silk (EY: 0.33)
- r148: Chimerical Felt Sash of ... (11.9k from the Repository Node), can desynth into Chimerical Felt (EY: 0.5) and Crawler Silk (EY: 0.33)
- r150: Chimerical Felt Breeches of Healing ( from the Repository Node), can desynth into Chimerical Felt (EY: 0.44), Amphiptere Leather (EY: 0.22), and Crawler Silk (EY: 0.22)
It's up to you when to switch from one to the next, but pay attention to the resale value of the mats listed above. Switch early if the one you're working on doesn't desynth into valuable mats, but a later one does. Switch late if your current choice is much more lucrative than surrounding options. If you are making positive money off a desynth, focus on that one even if it's only giving you 0.03 exp. I got from 168 to 171 on LTW off items that gave me 0.03 each. I wasn't really trying to level, just trying to make cash, the leveling was incidental. 100 desynths is not very many. Sure, it was a million gil, but I made three million in mats off of it, so...
Hi Nya and All,
So is there anything to take Weaver Desynthesis from i160 -> i180 (Max)? Or it's just a waiting game?
Ok I managed to get Gsm desynth to 174.1 but I don't know how to get higher, dungeon gear is 160, the gsm circlets at the repository node are ilvl150 and they give 0.01, so a ilvl160 item will give hardly anything also.
Has anyone maxed gsm desynth that can tell me exactly how to get past 174.1 ? thnx
Thank you for updating all this.
Has anyone else tried to convert/desynth the adept/trailblazer sets? I just noticed they could be broken down. It sounded strange to me. xD
The 5 pants I desynthed so far (they are extremelly cheap, less than 2 scripts turns in) gave me fieldcraft demi 2. Anyone got better luck?
I got to 178 desynthing chimera felt sash of casting from the node. 11488 each. It is profitable at best and break-even at worst. I desynth any weaver gear I get from ex roulette now. I tend to stockpile it and do them all once I have a lot, as well as all my fish, gsm items. This way I can craft and use one HQ tinkers and break everything all at once.
Also the il150 items can take you to 178 gsm, but the skillups are few and far between. They are also usually not profitable.
^ What everyone else has said. Even getting 0.0001 skill ups (10% chance of 0.01 skill up - lowest possible amount of exp a desynth can give) is enough to hit max, as long as you are making money from it. When Bridesmaid's Sandals were introduced, I went from ~60 LTW dSkill to 100.00 (max at the time) on the r70 shoes. Sure, it took about a thousand desynths to get from 99.00 to 100.00, but I desynthed over five thousand of them, so that really wasn't much of anything. I might do the same with my favorite belts in 3.0 to get to LTW 178 (they are only r148), and that's totally a valid option as they are still very profitable right now.
But, as others have said, dungeon gear from Ex dungeons is r160. It will take dozens to level up, so it won't happen fast. Alternatively, just wait it out. Getting your dSkill up ahead of time doesn't generally help *that* much in the long run, especially if you don't generally use Tinker's Bacon. Tinker's Bacon is the equivalent of 7.5-10 desynth skill points, after all, depending on the relative dSkill/rlvls involved.
Only CUL desynth can get useful amounts of dSkill near cap, as there are r180 fish that can be desynthed. However, I believe the fish jump from r150 (f60) right to r180 (f60*), so that's likely an awkward gap...
LTW and WVR guides largely updated with ~100-160 suggestions. I'll do the others soon, and then redo the early parts of the guide now that I have a program that tells me exactly which are the cheapest way to level, and which leveling items are actually profitable!
Was wonder which would be better to level up between Arm or Bsm for Adamantite nuggets? imma reset 1 of my desynths cause on my server there are becoming more pricey. ><
Nyalia just a question, did u know or have heard into what can be desynthed the blue script items?, i would like try but for gatherer feet im just have LTW 3% sucess rate unbuffed, and too i would first get my other folkore tomes, but im curious if something interesting may come from it.
Just chiming in on Cul desynth, I'm at 164ish now and I've just been using fish I've gathered up while leveling/doing blue/red scrips. The above gap mentioned didn't really exist and it's been a smooth transition for skill after I got through the mounds of ice faerie bodies I used to get from pre ARR levels to ~130s. Currently just blowing up the thunder eels and thaliks that aren't good enough for red scrips for skill and they're giving decent skill (around 0.10) without Tinker's Bacon
I'm pretty sure it'll be either ARM or LTW. ARM: Adamantite Tassets of ..., bought for 11,484 from the Goblin Trader, gives 1-2x Adamantite Nugget (EY: 0.5) and 1x Dragon Leather (EY: 0.33). LTW: Serpentskin Hunting Belt of ..., bought for 11,880 from the Repository Node, gives 1x Adamantite Nugget (EY: 0.33) and 1-2x Amphiptere Leather (EY: 0.5).
BSM's best option is noticeably worse than either (I think it's Adamantite Scythe bought from the Junkmonger in Matoya's cave? But, it's 50% more expensive than the belts, still only EY: 0.33, and other drops from it are all junk)
EDIT: Oops! Sorry about that, I totally missed Adamantite Pliers. BSM is actually not bad for getting Adamantite, but ARM is still better. Adamantite Pliers are 15,966 gil in Matoya's Cave, which is sitll 50% more than ARM/LTW belts, but has a yield of 0.5 for Adamantite Nugget and 0.33 for Adamantite Rivets. If you need the rivets, this is technically the best option by a slight margin... but that's ignoring the value of the other drops.
So, to math it out:
ARM: 22,968 per Adamantite Nugget (but each Nugget comes with 2/3rds of a Dragon Leather for free)
BSM: 19,159 per Adamantite Nugget (assuming Rivets count as Nuggets)
LTW: 35,640 per Adamantite Nugget (but each Nugget comes with 1.5 Amphiptere Leather for free)
If Dragon Leather is worth 6k or more, ARM is better than BSM. Otherwise, BSM is better than ARM.
If Amphiptere Leather is worth 11k or more, LTW is better than BSM. Otherwise, BSM is better than LTW.
If Amphiptere Leather is worth more than: ((4/9 * Dragon Leather) + 8,448), LTW is better than ARM. Otherwise, ARM is better than LTW.
See the post a little above you - that's the only time I've heard someone desynth one of those. So, I have no idea what can be obtained. There's a chance MCDs are obtained from them, if SE is consistent, but who knows?
Well, while CUL is definitely quick to level up to 165, I was worried about ~168-175 due to the need for r180 fish. You should have a low chance of success to desynth those (27% at 168), and I expected them to be difficult to fish up like the r80 fish were. But, if you're doing it anyway for red scrips, that makes sense!
Thx Nyalia for the insight of how to get nuggets. Looks like imma go the LTW route cause its my highest atm plus those leathers are around that range too.
Thanks Rath, Nya! :) I'll give it a shot.
This guide is OP got my LTW from 110 to 170 in an Half hour!
