If someone makes a deadly boss mods type addon for ARR would you use it?

DBM does this:

Very bad > Bad
Bad > Decent
Decent > Good
Good > Best
Best > ----

It makes less gimps around the board, atleast it gives the illusion of less gimps, they still are, they didnt suddenly get smarter, people just dont have to pay attention anymore and it allows tunnel vision.

Eh I guess I'm just not the kind of guy who wants to be "The best of the best at all costs" The first LS leader who tells me to use a mod of any kind is getting his pearl crushed in my hands.

Addons(bot) were against ToS, people got it changed by complaining. In rl it would be like people getting laws changed to allow steroids for athletes because sports are more fun/even to watch with it.

It was outside of the box, you didnt like this fact, so you put it in the box.

Actually Shougun, a lot of mods started out as Bots. Healbot specifically comes to mind. In it's original form it would automatically pick and cast heals for you. At least until Blizzard said hell no won't go. That and a few others caused them to lay down some ground rules for add ons to play by.

Addons are allowed- bots are not.

They are not similar at all.

No company has ever caved and included exp bots, farm bots, or gathering bots.

That doesnt mean that addons are bots. Addons are not bots.

We are talking specifically about addons that a company has created support for.

You saying that is like saying well you have a point about the skill tree but lets talk about traffic to my house.

Anything in-game that automates something or tells you what to do/when to do it that is not default in the game, is a bot. DBM told you to get out of the fire, not all addons are bots, but DBM was/is.

A bot must automate an action. An alarm is not a bot. Moving you to the location or forcing you not to move would be a bot.

If DBM played the game for you, it is a bot - but I doubt that DBM did anything besides assess the situation. Just like players do, we killed X lets kill Y now. Should ban the player for botting. No help can be given what so ever.

"Hey you need to cast fire on these monsters"
"Thanks, but I'm going to have to report you to a GM now for botting"
