I have. Back before the wonderful world of cut-scenes in the MSQ Roulette, at least one member of the party of 8 in Castrum posted numbers after the first boss. I assume they got the word to not do that, because they stopped doing so shortly thereafter.

No screen shots. I didn't figure it was worth reporting, and I certainly didn't take a screen shot. (Why should I?)

No, it'll be more the opposite. the majority of pf parties will be "clear" parties with ludicrously high parse requirements or else you're either blocked from joining, or are kicked for even the most minor of mistakes. we don't need that.

But that's already not how it works and we have all those abilities currently. There are a ton of prog parties made by people who themselves still need to prog. There are already tons of people getting carried through on reclears because while people see they play like trash it's not enough to want to kick them. There is never a guarantee that the next person filling that slot will be better.

No, damage meter won't solve any PF problems. It's a useful tool for measuring performance in high content. And as said before I do not agree that we will have "an influx of toxic behavior".

They already do that =p ever been to the aether discord? static recruiting casual, will go 5 days a week 5 + hours a day first 3 weeks most of us have 90 parses in the past.

I see the 2 wipes disband parties, even more now adays people mentioning in the PF they are checking logs. You know there are even add ons that show parses in a add on.

I dont think it would change much from what you see now, sure people will be a lil more open about it but not to the point of extreme people are makeing it out to be.

Honestly I think we're at the stage where they couldn't add a dps meter even if they wanted to because they've fostered such a strong anti-performance mentality, half their players would probably cause an uproar over it and act like the sky is falling down.

Yoshida simply intended to create an environment where players helped each other and were inclusive, but this has been abused by the "you don't pay my sub, I'll do what I want, anyone who disagrees with me is toxic!" type of player who sees the ToS as some sort of validation that they're in the right, it's a good thing to do the bare minimum because it's FUN and veteran players are inherently evil and need to be kept in check.
Every time this topic is brought up, everyone forgets harassment and toxic behavior are already against the rules. How can a parser create harassment when harassment over dps nets an instant ban? Why wouldn't the GM's handle it?

The game is already very toxic anyway. Instead of a straight up "you suck" that you can simply report and have the offender banned, FF14 leans into a passive aggressive "but you're lv90, you should know better", "ok, guess I'm solo healing lol", "ok, no one else has had a problem with me playing Ice mage, but guess you want to be elitist", "lol guess you bought that legend title" and so on, that's seen as perfectly fine.

hence why i said you are suffering from a delusion. We have enough toxicity in game as it is without giving more people an excuse to bully and exclude others

Parsers don't create toxicity, toxic people will always find a way to be toxic (as is VERY evidenced by this community). There's no reason to be afraid of a troubleshooting tool because some people might use it as a way to be obnoxious, just like there's no reason to remove the inspect function for the same reason.

You don't fix toxicity by handing them more tools. The fact that people even debate this boggles my mind when we have more than enough examples of how it'll be misused. The gray area approach is the best compromise.
