Consolidated Scholar 4.0 Feedback Thread

my main problem with excog is that our best healing is already highly gated. We needed another atherflow using heal why? One that might waste a Atherflow stack? I will stick to Lustrate ty as for fey union its useful for pumping out maximum tank heals when they need it.

Make Broil 230 potency and make Broil II a 100 potency aoe move (both skills exist next to each other). Fix Bane to the previous status by giving Scholar a Bane trait. Make Excog not cost a stack but a higher cooldown timer and all is well with Scholar.

Main Issue: The class is unfun as hell.

Issue #1: 0 good AoE to spam. This makes 4 mans an absolute chore to do.

Issue #2: Fey Union is just unfun. If the Fairy could act during it with an increased leash range that would be stellar. Or delete it and give me something that isn't dissipate level bad.

Issue #3: Quickened Aetherflow sucks. RNG based skills just feel bad on a healer.

Issue #4: The nerfs were heavyhanded. We need something back, right now there is almost no reason besides Chain Strategem to take us in a raid.

Issue #5: Pet reactions are still clunky and unresponsive. Eos should do what I tell her immediately, not when she gets around to it.

Those sum up my biggest issues. I love the class to death. Fairies are cool. You crushed an excellent class and now you need to fix it.

and in the media tour build excog was in a good state but they nerfed it

Fey covenant seems pointless, especially with that 2 foot tether.

Just replace it with "Summon Lily" and make her have higher potency heals and new moves. I don't care if it's Demi-bahamut for SCH because The fairy tether is a waste.

A fairy that's healing itself isn't doing anything else for 5+ GCDs. I would much rather spend a single of my own to cast Sustain and heal it. Especially with how much the fairy gets murdered by AoEs now. (Seriously, even in older content. It really feels like they stripped the AoE reduction they used to have. I rouletted into a Keeper of the Lake the other day and had to resummon twice.)

Fey Union operates with player potency, not pet potency. Test if out for yourself, it is very much an actual 480 pot in-game.

Embrace and Whispering Dawn both operate at pet potency though, so only Fey Union is unique.

Personally I would prefer replacing dissipation with summon Lily. Have it function kinda like pvp eos and heal when we heal and aoe when we aoe. Lasts till meter drains. We get fairy meter at 60 instead of 70.

I think SCH is starting to flow into the same position WHM is in.

That is, a viable job but is not fun to play and feels weak in comparison to AST.
It really feels like when it came to WHM and SCH, they didn't look into anything fun to give them at all.

When an AST can sheild and mitigate better than you, heal for more than WHM, and offer it's own support... there's a huge problem.

I'm pretty sure "Summon Lily" is our level 3 limit break "Angel Feathers".
