lol what? you equate people wanting a pet class to people wanting dragoon to have a wyvern...I think you are grasping at straws my friend. Seeing as BST and SMN have been asked for many many times and all show support, yet every Wyvern thread (and this is far from the only one) has had not only a majority but a majority by a landslide against it. Good luck with the hyperbole though at least Yoshi can see through it and believes the majority do not want it.

Nope love dragoon just the way it is atm Kain Highwind never needed a pet ^^

While I loved my wyvern from XI I personally don't want one in XIV unless its going to be a big imposing dragon. Or if you started out with a wyvern that grew in size and ferocity as you leveled. Even better why not make it a choice, people who want a Wyvern could have one at the expense of their Dragoon actions doing less damage while those that didn't want one would have a bonus.

This idea, or something very close, was actually mentioned a ways back. It was sadly shot down as giving people the power of choice is a bad thing for those that think they're way is the only right way.

Personally, I think it's the way to go, call your pet you suffer a stat drain as maintaining the link to your pet takes effort. Don't call it and your stats are normal. Your pet makes up for it w/ AAs of it's own as well as some unique abilities that you can have it use.

It's not a 'It's a my way or a high way.' Retort that shot your idea down. It's the fact that it essentially follows the exact mechanics of what they are doing with the Chocobo system - So making it would be redundant at best. The best alternative to the idea would to be to allow Wyverns under the same "Mount that fights by your side." System as a Chocobos. Obviously that means your Wyvern wouldn't be able to fight with you everywhere, but it would also means that the Dragoon does not have to be re-balanced to include Wyverns.

Just shaving off some of Dragoon's damage to accommodation a Wyvern, even if it's a choice, is not balancing it. And to create an 'option' for a Wyvern that is tied to Dragoon's base mechanics means they'd have to work twice as hard to balance the Job as they would for every other Job class in the game - which would draw away from Pet Jobs who should have more attention paid to them.

We've got a simple and easy alternative to the demand for Wyverns, we don't need to muck it up by trying to bind it to our Job specifically.

Just have a Job spec system and have em both! Dragoon Job spec quest A: get wyvern: makes dragoon less powerful individually but strong when combined with wyvern dps, can be more /support oriented or survival oriented. Dragoon job spec quest B: gives Dragoon more hate management abilities and increases personal dps. So thiss would be more of an all out dps spec.

Orr just give dragoon a wyvern looking mount and have it fight with you like a chocobo. Maybe one or two different abilities. Actually all fighting mount abilities could change depending on job role.

Really? First of all i was refering to the poll question of how often people view/post on official forum, NOT THE POLL ASKING DO PEOPLE WANT PET CLASSES. so what the heck are you talking about. On another note you "and this is far from the only one" must translate into 2 so if by far is 2 than you right bcz there's only 2 thread about wyvern. Now nest time you reply to my post please read and understand it and for the record i dont care if we get a wyern or not i was merely pointing out that the majority of the FFXIV community doesn't visit the forums to get an accurate vote on rather the majority want wyverns or not.

Hoping for never to come eh?

SE's pretty much decided the course on Dragoon. Again, they're not really going to completely rework jobs over agian, same goes with Black Mage. I wish people would realize this.

But no, this conversation will never end, just like the RDM Front Line debate.

Seriously if DRG get Wyverns as part of their base class mechanics, I want a dog to follow me around whenever I play Ninja when it comes out- because Interceptor was bada**.
