Formal Letter to SE about RMT situation.

Speaking of that, I have added a suggestions section to the OP, in order to neatly compile a list of all available suggestions in order for SE and other posters to see it. Landric gave me the idea, admittedly ;).

Totally agree, here in Malboro it's driving me nuts. It's a genuine problem and I'm not content to just accept it and leave it at that.

It has gone past the realm of acceptable. Merely looking at the /tell tab that I have fills me with disgust, so 99.9% of the time I ignore its existence. My primary method of talking privately with others over FF14 has been eliminated completely.

Could you please take that off of this thread's OP. You can create a separate thread for it if you want, but for this thread you've already asked if people agree with your issues and started collecting a list of those who do (myself included). I agree with everything you originally said, but that doesn't mean I'll automatically agree with every single suggestion someone throws out. Some of those suggestions are good ones and others would do nothing or would make the issue worse. You can't really keep editing something that way (to the point of changing its main content) after people have already signed it.

Those weren't my suggestions perse that you would've been agreeing to, but I see what you mean. I suppose I'll leave the suggestions portion to Landric's thread. Tis not my intent to confuse people.

The way I see it, it's late into 2.5 and 2.X in general. There is a new horizon ahead. People are uncertain about what's to come, not in terms of quality, but in terms as what their gil will be used for. So they're hoarding. Crafters craft less, buyers buy less, and in general people are squirreling it all away. So RMT sees their numbers going down. They're used to getting a certain amount of clientele, so they up the ante. Being the cultural shining examples of Far Eastern grace and Engrish, these sweatshop mongrels only understand one thing, push advertising, get money. More advertising, more money. (cont.)

(cont.) Or so they think. They aren't REALLY involved with the community and the Western/digital culture that are the NA servers. They might not realize how much their push-button-more model aggravates the general populace. They don't need to, because they don't care. There is only one concern, and that is generation of income. They know it's "illegal" but they know there's a price of doing business, lost accounts, setting up PCs, some networking, maybe some VPN stuff, etc.

As long as it is more profitable to do what they do vs. SE creating some kind of clever idea to combat and thwart vs. the big one: People not buying gil, then they will continue to set up their bots and continue to annoy. They don't realize and/or they don't care. Because money. The kind that's real.

I have to be on busy 24/7 on Goblin to even survive. Which is annoying, since I like to party up a lot.

Don't even need to say anything that hasn't already been said regarding this issue.

Buyers are the biggest problem, no buyers, much less sellers, people need to understand you can't just only accept a way to filter the tells or the like, reason is, yes it will help at first, however I can assure you the sellers will find another way to advertise and it may get even more aggressive, there needs to be a larger stance against the buyers then the sellers.
With much less buyers, theres little want to sell into that market, the root of the problem needs to be dealt with and thats the players.
