Ran AV with my friend tanking, then we decided to switch to HMs for zodiac. He switched to blm and queued up, instant pop.. But he forget to remove AV. We groan and enter.

The tank, a level 50 paladin, only used rage of halone.. Not the combo, just the skill. If the monk (we assume his friend) pulled aggro, he would flash.. But otherwise let things chew on us two. The oddest thing was he had a perfect cool down rotation, so actually healing him wasn't too bad.. But still was very wtf.

I was witness to one recently. I wasn't the healer myself, but I'm sure the SCH that had started Amdapor Keep (Normal Mode) with low item level gear was going "WTF!?" to the Tank as much as I was. Sure, I'm an overgeared DPS in the party (the other was a SMN with low item level gear too), but that doesn't mean take off and pull massive mobs of enemies when two of the members are low on item level, especially the healer! The Tank should be glad it was Amdapor Keep NM, as I was amazed at how the SCH was (barely) managing to keep the Tank alive long enough for me to wipe the floor with the trash mobs.

Surprisingly, everything went smooth up until the final boss. USUALLY when I end up at this spot just before the final boss where the two big armored enemies are, the parties I work with just make it a point to kill them quick if any member of the party is spotted. Instead though? The Tank just activates sprint and takes off past them with no intention of aggroing them. Usually, this is fine... if no one is spotted that is. The healer ends up getting spotted as soon as the Tank just zooms off on us as we try to keep up. The second one spots the Tank anyway. Normally, at this point any other party I worked with would just kill them quick for spotting us...

... instead, the Tank just keeps running, face-aggros the boss, and then proceeds to just hit the boss while the first of the two adds continues to wail on and chase the healer. Noticing this, I promptly decide to just start killing the two adds (starting by Stun Jumping the add chasing the healer so that the Healer actually has some breathing space). The Tank FINALLY starts aggroing the adds after a bit into the fight. (Earlier before this point, the healer had already started spamming heals on himself and the Tank, and eventually me) Things end poorly as quickly as I thought it would and we wipe. The very first thing that pops up into the chat menu upon the situation becoming even more of a mess than it already was?

"Why'd you hit it? I was going to reset them."

... excuse me Tank? THAT was your plan? Really? You ignore the plea of the healer being attacked, run all the way to the other side of the room while face aggroing the boss, and then say you intended to "reset the adds?"

No. It doesn't work that way. If you're intention was to simply reset the adds, what you SHOULD have done was:

A: Stop before aggroing the boss and let yourself die with no one helping you.
B: FREAKING TELL US VIA PARTY CHAT THAT WAS WHAT YOU INTENDED!
C: Alternatively, stop at the dividing line between the boss room and the rest of the dungeon and let someone else aggro the boss towards you.

Seriously, why the hell do we even have a party chat screen if you aren't even going to use it? Freaking hell... Besides which, it went to hell anyway the moment the healer got spotted, making the plan a failure to begin with. No communication, executed very poorly, and failure to realize the healer was in trouble, and thus automatically blames me for trying to correct the issue.

I hate these kind of Tanks. I seriously do. Commend went straight to the healer instead for that run.

We get a new tank. This time one who does use Shield Oath and with tank nr. 2 it was smooth sailing till the end.

I don't play tank so I don't even pretend to check if the Tank doing something very wrong. But I have noticed there are tanks that can last more than 10 seconds, and then there are tanks that won't even last 3 seconds... and lose HP faster than can be healed.

While waiting for Maintenance to be done I'm just reading this and remember a time where I was a WHM (now a SCH) and... im assuming it was Vigil HM since the tank was such a jerk, and I mean A JERK!
I was rouletting with a fellow FC member and it was so difficult for me to keep up the tanks health. So we pretty much wiped on the first big pull of the dungeon. Can't remember if he used CDs at all since this was back at when ST loot was unlocked for a month or so.
Somehow we managed to get through to the last boss. i figure why not look at his Gear.... to my horror it was soooo terrible gear. I recall one piece of armour from ST and the rest were all ilvl 60 or lvl 50 job stuff. I mentioned this to the English tank. "Nup."
So we wiped two or three times, kept blaming me.
when we finally finish the last boss I said to the tank (It WAR, I remembered!) something along the lines of doing ST. the reply was astonishing;
"Nup. Bunch of idiots who don't know what they're doing"
- " It's worse if you have such terrible gear that the healer is having trouble doing the job"
"Use Cooldowns"
- "I have been"
"Cure II"
- "Durr"
Arguments continues until FC member left and suggested I did the same, no commendation I cried.

Mine wasn't really a horror-story moment, more of a facepalm/WTH?! moment.

Zoned into Snowcloak for the first time on my healer; compared to the Ironwork pieces the rest of group was wearing, the crafted/ST pieces kinda stood out a bit and the tank noticed as such.

"New healer, huh?"

I agreed, thinking he was going to show mercy...right? NOPE! Instead, decides to zip down and chain pull all the mobs down the first hallway. We wipe before we even get a yalm towards the first boss. -.-

Getting nerd raged at from the other healer because I kept eating orbs on phase 1 of ramuh



Hard mode :|

He blamed me for the multiple wipes to his ultimate aoe. I explained multiple times that orbs dictated how much dmg ramuh did and the aoe wipe was due to adds not being dead. Got called a lair and various names SE may not like me posting here, he got kicked and I solo healed until last phase when another healer joined. Ah the joys of DF....

FYI Ramuh's thunder is not buffed by orbs in HM, it's only in EX mode.

It's actually better to just leave all the orbs alone so that you have a massive amount of orbs to utilize in the Rolling Thunder phase.

i got whined at for dpsing in dzemael darkhold and the tank left so i solo'd the first boss and we cleared most of the dungeon without a tank

Oh, various guides I've watched and read says it is. Even with me and a couple of others taking orbs we had no issues during rolling thunder.
