^^ Well that resolved everything didn't it.
If they had done the poll ahead of time none of this would have happened. Personally I could care less how the worlds merge...I'll live =P
Paradox Resolved.
Well it does change things, what's to say my linkshell will want to go with me if they could just all autotransfer to the same server?
*gives you a hug because you clearly need one lol
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I hope you guys make the right decision.
Thanks for the official on this Bayohne.
I understand that it is technically more difficult to do plan B than plan D, but as a now paying customer I simply do not care. I am not only contributing to the support of the game, but am referring friends and family to play. You need more being brought to the table now to validate payment. You can't hold the same standard of customer service as you did before when it was free.Quote:

No one is going to be sympathetic and compromise for a half assed version of it because it's your job to see it through with the quality you and your company promised the player base. Remember? Or did they really mean that we should start paying so that FFXIV can work it's way to the middle?
While none of us can stop it now, as long as we can spread the info to derail NEW server rage threads...
I can't lock mine and it's been rendered largely obsolete with the new information. There will be a lot of folks that won't read the Dev Tracker responses and all they'll see on the front page is Hot Coffees relating to server merges.
A 2-4 fusion might work out nicely.
Poll update
A + B⇒A World to merge with B World
8% (30)
A + B - X ⇒A World to merge with B World, except people that would like to move are able to choose a different World
62% (239)
A + B - C ⇒A World to merge with B World, except people that would like to move are able to choose to go to C World
2% (8)
Prepare 10 Worlds, set a limit, and give everyone the power to move their characters to a World of their choice.
28% (106)
Total votes: 383
A poll is measuring tool to get a general idea of what people think, a poll does not relay on a 100% participation to reflect the general opinion, of course the more people take part, the more accurate it gets all though studies show that around 100 participants the percentages do not change that much in relation to each other.Quote:
That puts what... roughly 3% of the player base voted?
So if you poll 100 people and the result is A:20 votes and B:80 votes you will roughly see on 200 people polled A:40 votes and B: 160 votes
Provided that the sample is from a well varied cross-section of the total population, I somehow doubt that forum goers make a good sample. Especially since its a voluntary vote. I'm sure a fair amount of people see it, say meh, not worth the click.
It also looks like the poll has no log in making it easy to vote multiple times.
LOL roughly... because the rest of the population was 'okay' with the current plans and/or already adjusted. SE should just make up their minds. Because this is actually a worse nightmare when they keep switching it on us. (That said, something that allows 'retired' players to return to the server of their friends is awesome...and option 2 does just that.)
Narfalicious, there are 16 different countries that voted at this point, also advanced anti-cheat is enabled, I'm just wondering why you object so much to people trying to make an effort of getting the right decision made, and with the right derision I mean the one that the majority is happy with and not my personal perseverance.
Yes it would have been way better if SE made a poll and controlled it them selves, but they did not, so this is the best I can do.
I don't see why you find it so important to nit-pick on the how and what might not right with the poll, whats you point? or better yet what are you trying to achieve?
I am having a big headache to try to choose the server, because there is other player with the same character name.
There is a way to know if the server you are going to enter will be the same as other player with same name?
We will be noticed if other player in other server will go to the one we wish?
I want to talk about this with that player but I'm unable to do that, hope this issue is taken in mind.
I want to choose the server with my friends, but also I want to keep my identity without have to change my character name.
Most people should feel better after number 2 is released.
Awesome news. Thank you Yoshida for the info, and Bayohne for the translation. I'm happy to see the community's feedback really being taken into account on this matter.
Honestly, I would have been fine with either option as they wouldn't affect me anyways. But I would still vote for 2 because it seems the fairest for everyone else, especially those with multiple Linkshells. Only thing that still bothers me is hidden names, but if you still choose to keep them hidden I'll get over it.
Only suggestion I'd make is give us entirely new server names. You can still follow past FF towns, just give us new ones. This way it may be easier for people to feel like one entire community instead of World A playing on World B's server.
#Bastok or #Tavnazia
I'm down with Twitter hashing.
Hopefully they will change to option 2. Good to hear that you guys are taking this seriously...because the option 4 could potential damage the game community in an irreversible way. But by just hearing you guys are looking foward to change to option 2 is already a relief! ^^
I really think the current plan could be better. Why does everyone have to blindly choose a new server? Why can't the low population servers be merged into larger population servers, with an opportunity for anyone who wants to to pick a new world? Example: Low-pop server A merges into High-pop server B, and are renamed Server 1. When those players log in, they are presented with and option to "Choose to merge into Server 1. (previously server A and B) or choose Server's 2-10. This is the best of both worlds imo.
