Summoner Early Post-Launch Feedback at level 80

Why won't they just combine all the GOOD ideas from HW SB and ShB into one good summoner instead of reworking it poorly every time...
Imagine removing egis and dots and getting 800 pot festers and 900 potency akhmorns instead woof

In that case, have fun being a clown class in alliance raids, possibly new future eurekas, S hunts and large scale fates.
And have fun with your glitched toy looking pets and their wrong potency tooltips, all while stomaching their 1.5k damage autoattacks.

While I will admit that I do dislike FFXIV SMN due to it really being a bargain bin WoW Warlock knock off, neither of those things will fix the class. First thing they need to do before that is disconnect SMN from SCH completely. Get rid of the book weapon and give them a whip weapon. Then start fixing the mess the job is in.

Whip? Why whip?

As much as I'd like it gone, I don't think they'll ever remove DoTs and Egi from SMN unless a miracle happens. It's been SMN's most basic form of damage since launch and it's just unlikely. If they ever rework the job yet again, they'll only change how they'll work if the 4.0 BRD and 5.0 MCH rework is anything to go by.

Getting rid of the Dots would automatically fix festeruins, which are a problem. Getting rid of the Egis would automatically remove EAs, which are garbage overbloat and offer nothing other than Ruin IV stacks. Then from there, you can build up a real SMN and take whatever direction you prefer most, but if you keep insisting with the egis and the dots, you'll be stuck forever in a convoluted mess that SE has proven unable to fix up to this day.

As long as SMN is attached to SCH, none of that will ever happen.
