I asked you to prove what you claim if claimed RMT is already infesting HW zones. You have not. Just saying they have is not proof by any stretch of the imagination. I have yet to see any RMT bot army in HW zones and I have actively searched for them because of liars who claimed they had infested HW, not a SINGLE person has provided proof that they have and it is because the story gating which includes multiple hard dungeons and trials before can enter Ishgard and subsequent zones. The only 'RMT' bot armies will find are still in ARR zones and cities which is not the same as an occasional singular legitimate player who resorted to botting after manually working their way past the gating.

It feels waaaay too early in XIV's cycle to have a levelling potion, the reason WoW did theirs is because they have around 10 years worth of content, and a lot of that content is becoming outdated (especially the Outlands).

You don't have proof yet you claim it is me pretending? I am sorry but it is the other way around...you don't have proof because there is none to have. You pretend they are infesting HW zones because it would benefit your argument if they were but they are not. I have a hundred or more screenshots which prove they infest ARR zones but you cannot come up with a single one that proves they are infesting HW zones?

I asked you to prove your claim and back up your position with evidence if want to use that claim as justification to remove the gating, to give you a chance to prove me wrong on this but you have not done so however because you cannot...just like everyone else who made similar claims as you has not been able to do so in their attempts to add fictional weight to their positions. Your using a fallacy as a justification but have no evidence to back up that fallacy because there is none.

I agree with the story jump. The 0-50 MSQ slog is good, its part of levelling your first character, but gating HW/expac content behind the 2.x story? That seems like a terrible idea from a business and gameplay standpoint. I'm watching my wife go through that right now and its killing my desire to play through it all to get to HW. There are 100 quests and most of them are just teleport fetch quests with tons and tons of pointless text.

We all know if the Cash shop was successful (which it was), this will be too. and its going to start a whole host of new problems

I didn't read all the posts in the thread, in fact I didn't read very many at all, but I did want to just put this comment in......in my experience, I have done everything I can, almost to the point of begging people on my Facebook friendlist to join the game so that I would have more RL friends to play with and because I want to take advantage of the Recruit a Friend campaign and get the Twintania mount. Over the course of months and months, posting here and there on Facebook about the game, offering up a free code to unlock the base game, and posting video after video and reviews of the game, and I can not for the life of me get anyone, out of some 400 people on my Facebook friendlist, to join the game. All but 2 of my RL friends have quit the game with no interest at all in coming back, regardless of what is added to the game. I think we started with about 8 of us and now we're down to me and 2 of my RL friends being the last of the initial group of us who were playing the game together.

With all of this said, basically, what I'm getting at is this game isn't for everyone. There are so many other options available, and at least in my experience, it's hard to get people to join the game. I think the jump potion could definitely be a good thing and make the game more fun for people new to the game who simply want to play with their friends and who may otherwise be discouraged and quit when they find that they have to go through the entireity of all the MSQs available to catch up to their friend(s).

I, for one, do not like the idea of the jump potion. I feel that everyone should experience the game and the story as it was intended to be experienced and they should have to work for everything that they earn in the game with no hand outs, aside from maybe a friend tossing them a little gil to get them started. (Even then I'm not a big fan of that either but I do understand that the newbie struggle is real.) So, to finish this up, I guess, even though I don't like the idea of it, if the jump potion will help retain more new players and help the game thrive, I can grit my teeth and bear it, so to speak.

Oh and the addition of the Right Click Report Feature.....THANK THE TWELVE!!!!!!! FINALLY! It only took, what, 2 - 2 1/2 years of us asking for this feature to be implemented? Right click report is what I'll be looking forward to most in the upcoming patch. I think it's kind of sad to have to say that, but it's true. lol The amount of RMT on Mateus is absurd!

Exactly.. Thats one of the reasons i'm glad SE did what they did because it bars RMT from going farther, and I too have never seen anything RMT release in HW areas. If there are, then I haven't looked hard enough and humbly apologize

I would be cautious with that. Many of FFXI's design decisions were done with the intention of hindering RMTers but it ended up harming the general community/game much more.

I would be fine with a streamlines version of the story mode. It was only made that way to pad out the gameplay of the main scenario. I don't even have a problem with 4.0 not needing heavensward complete. But I do not like the idea of leveling potions, and do not see how story jumping potions would be implemented in a way that wouldn't cheapen and distort the experience.
leveling potions, unless it bring every class to 50, would be setting the user up for failure as their cross class abilities are missing, and would be laughed out of current content. it would go a long way towards not trusting the new guy, or the sprout, or even the sense of achievement from the game because they may have just bought their way there, while you had to take the long way, you sucker you.
