Again, I think you take this way too seriously. Nobody has been mean to you.

I argued THM was going to become BLM myself specifically because of the CON only WHM spells, even though I was hoping for what I believe to be the correct choice.
However, the lore is one hundred percent in favor of THM being WHM over BLM and people were right to call out those who didn't/don't understand the world they play in. Then again... Maybe that's SE's fault for not making the story interesting enough for people to pay attention. In any case, people can argue it all they want to but the facts are there for anyone to find them, if they so choose.
Of course, none of this matters now since they have announced the secretive, vengeful, forest-dwelling, elemental nuke using, isolationist mages will become WHM.
I agree that the story potential was great for THM/WHM - especially the rebuilding of the LIFE sect over the DEATH sect in light of the Seventh Umbral Era... but I don't think THM/BLM is going to bend the lore at all. The CON/WHM is going to take some skill to weave together, sure, but like others have said they probably won't try to link the story and job storylines very much at all anyway.
I think it's logical, but that doesn't mean to say the opposite theory was bad (though some of the attitudes were) - just less logical in my own opinion. Unfortunately, "great potential to expand the lore in an easily consistent direction" doesn't by necessity mean the other direction would contradict existing lore; it's just a more complicated direction.
As one of my favorite quotations goes: There are many mountains, but they all reach for the stars.
I WILL ADMIT DEFEAT. BUT I SHALL BE BACK NEXT TIME BWAHAHAHAHA
The reality is you could make a case for either. Some are just going to favor one reasoning over another. I mean, honestly they could go and make PGL the WHM if they wanted to because the only story that really matters is how you become that job, not what you started as. Kinda like Cecil when he left DRK behind for PLD.
