Considering Nintendo's track record for sales I wouldn't pay it much attention if I was Nintendo. Those that got rid of their stock will probably regret the moment WiiU sky rockets on the sales charts. They only basically have to release Zelda at the same time that basically forces a mass amount of people to buy it...

Actually I didn't act like anything, you did, you took my words out of context. All I was doing was linking to an article I didn't even say anything past "the controller may be too expensive" oh my! the nerve of me...I didn't comment on FFXIV being on the WiiU nor do I care to see it there to be honest, there'll be plenty of good games on the console as is, such as Zelda to begin with + its capabilities of playing more "hardcore" games as some people have already mentioned in this topic.

So next time please read my post before jumping to conclusions about what I meant to say when in fact I didn't really say much did I?

was the press release and E3 spotlight that misleading (I did not think it was but *shrugs*)

The Wii: U is a new console not just the controller you saw. Also it is not a handheld, as people where thinking, the Controller is just getting all its info (video sound and everything else) sent to it from the system.

HMMM... the question was about FFXIV going on the WII U not the WII... Nintendo's new console they announced at E3 and i guess u havent heard of it. No need for cellshading!

how did they lie? It was Nintendo themselves who said it was footage from PS3 and 360... it wasnt a secret or anything.

Dude you must be as dumb as they come. please go on gaming website and read up... gamespot, ign, kotaku etc... Nintendo was asked about it and THEY said it was PS3 and 360 footage. WII U games are not finished yet, the devs just got their kits. Nobody tried to pass anything for WII U footage. Dont post stuff without verifying first cuz it makes you look silly.

There seems to be a lot of overly hostile nay sayers. I know that Nintendo has let people down in the past, hell I am one of them. I completely boycotted the Wii because of the ridiculous wiimote. However from what was said and the little bit shown, I am pretty sure that this will be a good and "serious" system. Now I will reserve full judgement until all is revealed, but I don't really think there is much to worry about other than the Hard Drive issue. But thats not set in stone, and even if it were, we can still use an external hard drive.

So here is my question to the nay sayers:

Assuming that it can run FFXIV fine, what would be your "real" problem with WiiU getting FFXIV?

The reason I ask this is the paranoid part of me can only come up with that your either all Xbox and PS fanboys and fangirls, or that your all PC players already upset with the possibility of "PS3 limitations" and dont want to add on the new possibility of "WiiU limitations". If its the former, GTFO. If its the later, it cant hurt because your already going to have "PS3 limitations" so you might as well get over it. Unless this game flops, it will have a PS3 version. Besides FFXIV could use the influx of players from other platforms, which has been SE's strategy from the get go. You know the whole multi-regional, multi-platform concept that FFXI used and that they said FFXIV will use again. And now that Xbox is out of the picture, they need another console to pick up its slack.

With the memory that the Wii U has, unless their HDD upgrade is hardcore, these limitations would be a seriously big problem.
