This is what I would aim for as a set if you're just going into savage: http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/TV90 I have picked out the lore pieces that could be used later on in the BiS and used i220 gear for the rest. Once you got the lore pieces for the BiS you can use the lore for the legs. As for melding go with grade IV materia unless you have the money to use grade 5 in the guaranteed slots before and after augmentation. The priority for grade IV materia should be Crit > SkS > Det and for grade 5 Crit > Det > SkS.

So sitting down with my spreadsheet I played around with what would be the BiS at i240. It's quite close to what was here before but one big differense. SkS materia instead of crit materia. The reason for this is due to our already stupidly high SkS we are pretty close to getting another attack in during BfB making SkS higher valued than crit.

Compared to http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/TCWX which I would say is the BiS if it wasn't for the extra BfB attack.
TCWX:
Crit: 1094
Det: 362
SkS: 853
DPS at 95th GCD (184.92 seconds): 2119.336089
TVZ1:
Crit: 989 (-105)
Det: 350 (-12)
SkS: 973 (+120)
DPS at 95th GCD (180.91 seconds): 2129.369857

The extra BfB attack is achieved at 936 SkS but it would be too tight to be reliably hitting it which is why SkS is at 973.

Do note that these numbers are higher due to how my spreadsheet works with AA which calculates it wrongly. I would expect the actual differense to be close to around 3 DPS and actual DPS to be closer to 2047 and 2050.

Already dropped it way earlier, after the 2 min mark purification and fracture comes out superior at higher SkS due to Demo clipping.

But I mean do you compare that to

Forbidden Chakra + Low SkS + Fracture. I use FC and Fracture at the moment, (The only time I substitute the first FC in for a purification later on is during the Test Dummies as its necessary at basically any SS that you can get with current gear).

If you bring me a set with less than 650 SkS that is still close to on par with any of the sets I mentioned in stat weights I can try it out but the only way to get to those levels would be trading SkS for det or acc and above a certain level SkS will have a higher weight than det so it's a loss anyways.

So I need materia advice. Gonna try to get my monk to join a static and want to know how to allocate the materia slots for my current gear (all 220 prototype midan / 230 lore gear except for latest relic monk weapon). All 16 slots are empty

Here are all the important stats:

Accuracy: 717
Critical Hit Rate: 765
Determination: 619
Skill Speed: 528

Got enough Mhachi matter to get nine grade V materia. And I do have some grade IV materia stored (crit, det, sk speed) with my retainers. I know I should definitely increase my DET (and possibly my CRIT), but I do have concern about my current skill speed.

Any ideas?

edit: was led to a helpful tool site that showed the stat cap for each piece I have equipped so at the very least I know which materia can go where

Accuracy is not 696 by the way. Either 699 or 700. There's been recorded a recorded miss at 697. I'm wagering towards 700, as that would mean there's a 12 accuracy gap difference between A6S, A7S & A8S at the front; 676, 688 and 700, respectively.

Also, at 853 Skillspeed, wouldn't you gimp yourself by being extremely TP starved?
