While not so much a healer Horror story I'm going to mention this as a "remember what your Macro really does"

In two back-to-back Raids, The tank dropped out and was immediately replaced, thus results in the Tank going from the "second position" to the "last position"

My swiftcast-ressurrect macro attempts to rez everyone in order of the party list. So since the Tank was at the end, the tank kept complaining "Why is nobody healing me?" Well he certainly was being healed, but I suspect he succumbed to the problem of "healer defaults to healing party position #2"

He was being healed (I only use two macros, one to fire off everything needed to maximize Media II, and one to emergency-swiftrez as I stated above), by both healers, but because he was at the bottom of the party list, he was probably getting missed for single-target heals because he kept running out of range (when a healing target leaves range, the cast either cancels (if the target was lit up) or heals the healer (if the target was selected and it immediately rejected before the cast took place.)

So anytime a tank drops out and is replaced, the tank will -always- get less attention. Remember you can re-arrange the party list.

...well, the idea of your macro is a little weird to me, but as an aside - you can also type /psort to out the party list back to your default.

Started healing not too long ago.
Never thought I'd have my own horror story this early
I we were about to start a low level dungeon. I was the only mage type having a ninja and Lancer for dps. But I noted someone wearing robes. To my horror it was a level 34 marauder. He did not even unlock warrior yet. What's worse he was wearing all light armor.
Id understand if he was willing to learn. But he did not even had a single word during the run. We somehow survived two bosses. We had a loot for tank classes. I was pleading him to get it and use it. But to my horror he passes the item.
Obviously he was too squishy the whole time. The group died when we had multiple mobs. Needless to say we abandoned the dungeon

MT on cloud of darkness complains that there are 5 WHMs in the raid and he doesn't have a single regen in alliance chat. One WHM says that he never uses regen, it's a useless skill and he doesn't have it on hotbar. I cry everytime...

my nightmare had to have been when I was leveling my WHM.. This was in Brayflox.

I join Brayflox midway through.. on first boss. Time limit was already at 55 minutes.. so the group took 35 minutes just to get to first boss.

The DPS tell me the healer left because he didn't wanna deal with the tank.
So I go okay.. well the tank may be noob, but we should still be able to do this right?

Every fight is a challenge, tank can't move AND attack at the same time.. tank can't hold aggro, dragoon tanks most of the fights..

Takes us another 20 minutes to get to the final boss. Ahh the final boss.

We explain to the tank he has to move the dragon around.
1st fight, nope.. nothing. just sits in pool all day. I run out of mana, we wipe.
2nd fight, nope.. nothing, we wipe again.
Tank starts complaining about my healing "Why didn't you heal me more?" I told him I only have so much mana, I can't heal forever if the boss isn't dying.
3rd fight, tank starts to move the dragon around.. except he can't attack while on the move. so loses aggro.. boss bounces around everywhere.. wipe
4th fight, tank moves the dragon, halfway through loses aggro, boss comes back to dps, tank goes back to boss.. rinse and repeat.. wipe

By this time we're frustrated but we still try to explain the mechanics to the tank.. He says if you wanna kick me go ahead, I don't think I can do this..
So with 5 minutes to spare, we had to kick him and get a new tank in just to finish the dungeon.

I really hope he can now cast skills while on the move..

A person like that really should just uninstall the game or something since they clearly have no interest in learning how to play. WHM's in raids annoy me heavily in general since i main one it's more irritating. Keeping the MT up is not difficult and you're not even doing anything half the time so you might as well throw a regen on the MT especially on the final boss. If there are not the same number of regen on the MT as WHM's in the raid then you know there are some bad/lazy Healers or one of the groups is that bad that the Heals need to babysit them but it's usually just the first one.

I really hate when they say "That's the job of the Healers in their own party" no it's YOUR job. If the MT dies because of lack of Healing the blame is on every Healer in that raid. If the party gets rekt by the heatwave debuff on second boss that's the fault of the WHM for not using stoneskin to avoid it. Missed meteors? 6 Healers in the raid and you all better be in one. Healers on the meteor drops are not the only thing that bugs me to be fair i want to punch the DPS when the clouds spawn and they should be killing them but 4 of them try to pile in one meteor instead. The meteors only spawn like 3 at a time on that phase the Healers have absolutely nothing else to do during the phase since the boss does nothing until it ends and the clouds do no damage.

On Cerberus if the chains fail it's probably a Healers fault. If a Healer gets aggro on the adds and dies that's your fault too. I don't care if the Tank failed to peel the adds you got aggro so you are doing it wrong. Hold any regen on Tanks until all adds have spawned and been taunted.

Long story short for Healers in WoD get good XD.

I always cast adlo on mt especially during that part, regardless of whether or not it's a tank from my party ._.. The amount of excuses healers give for not giving it their all. >.<

Oddly Wod's first boss is probably the hardest of the raid, as a healer. When you have a competent party, great, you could even solo-heal (just like the entire raid, per se). If you don't and have dps getting killed by doom or not switching colors on the ground, can become quite a nightmare.
About helping other teams, even though I agree, I can tell it's not easy for everyone to do. I, for instance, am playing on PS3 and browsing through the players in other team is absolutely terrible. You can't mouseover. You have to find THAT guy in particular who needs a raise or a cure, by using right/left arrows. Trust me, when you have 18 players around you, it's not that easy. When I try to target an another party's tank, by the time I actually target him, he would usually be dead, if none of his own healers are alive, that is.

Not really. It's a 5 second mechanic where everyone is supposed to stand still. Would it be the WHM's fault if they had died to Blighted pre-nerf in t6? No. Of course not. It's the job of everyone in the party to avoid the mechanic. And spending 2,128 MP to avoid a 5 second move is kind of irrational, not to mention that time could be spent DPSing or healing the MT or something. A Medica II (or 2 if you have 2 WHMS) and a SCH's succor is more than enough to mitigate it.

Speaking of WoD, I remember having to Ressurect close to 30 times because people kept dying to the different Angra Mainyu mechanics. It was kind of hilarious, though the horrifying part was being a Scholar and having to ask for Ballads.
