The server is full, try again later (1017)

I have yet to see anything addressing error 1017 at all. It's almost as if they are just going full denial of it happening. I also fail to see how they expected this population size, they had to know how many preorders they had so why not tailor the server population sizes accordingly? I think they should probably give the free 30 days a week long extension in order to compensate for those players who will most likely loose the week while they attempt to play catch up.

ive been in queue at 900 in WOW playing on stormrage. even that only took an hour to get onto the game.

been trying to get on Goblin for 2 hours now.... i just want blm...

has SE actually acknowledged this issue yet? I'd like some kind of timeline as to when this 1017 error won't be a problem anymore.... I'm not paying 15 dollars a month to see an error message. I'll go back to WOW if anything else.. content might be boring and old, but at least they have their shit together.

Sigh...I finally got in....alt+tabbed real fast and the game crashed. F M L

Because they pay the same amount you do to play the game. As much as it sucks, most don't feel like waiting 3 hours even TRYING to log on. I'm not saying it's right, but the real problem here is SE.

I am sorry but this launch is complete bullshit from the get-go. It started with TONS of code issues and beta issues and the shit keeps flying. 3 hours of constantly trying to log in today and getting 1017. I have actually been in queue 3 times and THEN get the "Server is full" popup OVER my queue notice. What the Fuck?? I was annoyed by all this then perturbed but now I am just downright pissed the hell off.
This is ridiculous from a company that has the money and resources to NOT have all this crap happen. FFXIV ARR is a full-on comedy of errors.
