Sorry SE, but endgame won't work if you don't fix something.

The solution is all on your end: Get a better internet connection.

You can't blame SE for not being able to complete challenging content because your internet connection/10 year old computer is crappy. That's all on you. I play from Japan and have zero issues with latency both to Japanese servers and to NA servers (I successfully beat Titan many times on both Masamune and Balmung).

My friend in Australia had some issues, but he got a tunneling service to help with latency and it's perfectly fine for him now. It's easy to blame them for having "terrible programming", especially when it's clear you don't understand how internet connections work, but the issue ultimately lies with your ISP.

Quit whining and blaming others for problems you can fix yourself.

Not sure if the person above me is trolling or not, but an automatical 300ms (server position check) + 20-200ms (your real ping) is certainly called lag. Well, ive learned to appericate the lag anyways, game would be far too easy without it. :)

I'm in Australia and its fine for me, but the evidence for this problem is overwhelming. Even people right in Montreal can have issues, regardless to their ISP, router, etc. Player skill is only part of the issue. If you checked the entire OP you wouldn't have wasted peoples time with your post, because you are flat out wrong.

Server position check delay is a 100% confirm at this point, the fact a guy can spam Esuna while full on running with no stop should be a large hint.

While latency certainly does play a part in the issue, being hit by AOEs when you are out of them is completely the fault of SE and how they chose to program their game. Why? Latency/lag is not new to MMOs. Every single MMO on the market is going to have players with various ping speeds connecting to them. Every single MMO can experience rubberbanding, or periods where players/mobs stop for a few seconds, and then everything super speeds up.. those are generally signs of a bad internet connection that you probably shouldn't be using to play online games with. FFXIV however, is the only MMO where you can get hit by an AOE you were out of.

I don't care if player A has an 80ms ping and player B has a 200ms ping. Both should be able to rely on the on-screen indicators to know when to dodge, how far to run, and not be hit when they are clearly out of things. The precedence has been set by literally every other MMO out there. It's not acceptable to be hit by stuff when you got out before the cast bar went away. You can go ahead and keep defending the bad programming though. It's not like it already killed the game once or anything... oh.. wait...

Sometimes I think lag and the camera is supposed to be the difficulty of this game. If this game has a camera that doesn't randomly zoom in to the ground in front of you plus the crippling lag, most of these raids are absolutely trivial.

Heard ppl complain about the camera glitching alot, are you guys using default or legacy camera/movement setting? Ive used legacy and ive personally never had any problems with the camera.

It's such a terrible combo to play with a high global cooldown and high delay.
I lose all the time 2-3 seconds on my damage CDs because I activate multiple CDs and have to wait until they are on .... to use my skills.

If I interrupt a spell by 50% of the cast, my interrupt is on CD but the spell hits me.

I will wait only one month more!

It's mostly when you run towards the camera. Rather than stay zoomed out, the game zooms in the closer you get, which is really annoying.

Edit: I'm using Legacy.

It's even worse for tanks and healers as they pop cool downs, the CD goes off but the spell doesn't register in time so someone usually dies.

Whenever you're close to some kind of wall like object, the camera has a tendency to want to zoom in leaving you with a nice view of the floor and nothing else. It can be disabled if you turn off 'change camera while moving' but then having the camera never adjust while moving is also inconvenient.
