Depends how long you were soloing it for. If it was like 10% ish or less, than yeah that’s fine. If everyone wiped to a mech halfway in and you spent 30 minutes soloing it, than yeah you were a douche.
I returned to Paradigm's Breach on PLD. Best move I could've made. My group was total garbage with the exception of one red mage who had their hands full. Someone initiated a vote abandon twice during the raid. :p (I'm guessing it was someone in my group) DRG blew LB3 on the final boss. I said "I hope yall don't need that"... barely a minute later. 6 people down. :D
3-4 minutes soloing it. T'was only a dungeon boss. Judging by their reactions and the fact they were on the same server and in the same FC, I figure we can make some suppositions here. The healer of the bunch was wearing the BK crown and Ultimate Legend title, and they had a couple pieces of savage gear from the previous tier. I know for a fact it was the first time in there for at least one of them. Best guess? The two new guys were recruit-a-friended in by the healer and riding healer queues through all the story stuff.
They were really hyper-focused on the missed "learning opportunity." I figure it's pretty safe to assume that was the core issue.
It sounds like they were rude about it, but I'll admit I think that's quite a bit longer than I would've pushed it solo'ing. I mean, that's longer than the entire boss fight might take, normally; it would have arguably been faster to reset and let them take another try.
Generally, if it's going to take more than about 30 more seconds to solo down a boss, I'd choose the reset and let others back into the fight; the exception being if the people on the ground are cheering on the attempt and clearly game for me to keep going.
Full disclosure: I decided it wasn't worth it. They all took everything straight to the face right out of the gate, including the healer. The two new guys had a valid excuse, but the healer mentor/Ultimate Legend title holder (who I am convinced bought it) did not. If they died outright once, it would just happen again. And the DPS, try as they might, wouldn't have survived without the healer. Stacks were collected like Pokemon.
Let's vent about 2.0?
Well, I remember one time - I was playing SCH - and I qued into DF and got Aurum Vale.
...that's the story.
Because, seriously. 2.X. Aurum Vale. On SCH.
I got a legit disingenuous "sorry guyz my controller died" in an Ex3 farm.
I dunno they seemed to be perfectly capable of running to the middle for despair unforgotten and wiping 5/8 of the party to me.
I do admit that it is a thing that can happen. Happened to me a little bit on a prior PC. That can happen (namely when wired in my case) if there is an issue with the wire itself or perhaps the USB controller/usb charging. I circumvented that issue playing wirelessly. It didn't happen every minute though.
The reason I wasn't really buying it is how often they were messing up. They clearly ran to the middle, stopped, then ran out when they noticed they had a spread marker. They were otherwise at their clock spot and did not need to move.
