I'm here to support all those forgotten male bunnies! Is not fair that viera came out to be a gender-locked race. "the lore" is not an excuse to deliver half made things, if we are going to speak about the lore, then why Hrothgar is a male only race when that lore we are speaking of openly says that there's both male and female Hrothgar?
This has already been explained. They didn't have the time or resources to do two full races so they did one of each since they wanted to add something for everyone. Viera for those who have been seeking it, Hrothgar for those who wanted the more bestial race. Female viera was chosen probably mostly in part due to Fran's needing of a model so at the time of the races conception, male viera was already not even considered.
I am here to show my support for the implementation of a playable Male Viera!
The news that they would not be a playable race was very hard-hitting for me. I’ve wanted to play a male Viera for years, but my anticipation grew when Fran was first introduced in the 24-man raids.
I implore the development team to reconsider their addition and implement them in the near future.
Why is it not a good idea? Keeping Viera genderlocked would curb resources spent and follow along established lore. >buh muh warrior of light >but muh roe >but muh cats Screw that I want Viera unique like they were when I played Tactics and XII with males be non existent. There is an arguement to be made for female Hrothgar though which they should focus on.
We have established lore for males from the Ivalice Alliance Raid. FFXIV =/= Tactics or XII. Besides, their uniqueness never came from their gender exclusivity, imo.
Honestly, let's bury the hatchet and let's get some support for Burmecians up in here: https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Burmecian
