As would I.

Not sure why this and a couple other threads aren't being kept on the front page. This is gamebreaking if true. I should never be afraid to sell things on the auction house, but ever since I've learned of this, I've been sitting on materia I've created.
It is very true, the reason these threads are not staying at the top is because the mods are censoring it, despite refusing to reply to us.
All my wife did was craft, she didn't like fighting. She truly enjoyed being known for her crafting skills and meeting other players along the way. Not to mention I finally got her to play a game with me that she also enjoyed at the same time. She had 63million gil saved up, all of it being gained LEGIT. The amount of time we both spent (I was the fighter/raider and went and got materials if she ran out, we did not buy them off the marketplace) PLAYING LEGITIMATELY to earn such amount of Gil, and having both of us subscribe for 90 days + buy the digital download for 29.99... I understand SE owns all the rights to this game... but it honestly feels on the edge of illegal for them to do what the did to my wifes account. She has NEVER purchased gil, in fact, her blacklist was almost filled to capacity because she always had to deal with spamming gold fuckers in major cities where she did all her crafting.
Now she won't even touch the game, because of retards who just throw out bans and nuke her in-game wallet without any evidence to show WHY. Not only do i hate the fact this game sucks ass endgame and is boring but i find it outrageous that someone who spent so much time (which you would think there is a log on server-side to show proof she worked hard for every penny that was earned) is punished. Not to mention we spent real money SUBBING to this now HORRIBLE GAME.
For those who think the players who got banned/wallet fkd deserve it, maybe some of them did. But in our case I can assure you the game company completely fucked the wrong person. What a waste of our time and effort, not to mention telling our friends and family to go buy the game (which now we make it our mission to tell all our friends and work mates NOT TO BUY THIS GAME).
Additionally, the idea players were banned because of "dirty money" being traded or what not, its absurd to punish those who had no idea this was even happening. Just because the game devs can't control what was happening in there own game, how the hell were players suppose to realize what was what? We aren't detectives we just PLAYED THE GAME. How is it right you put that responsibility on the PLAYERS? Are you freaking kidding me?
This is one of the worst, laziest, incompetent game releases we have ever experienced. What the hell happened from Beta days to now? Great Job whoever executed this idea.
62 pages and not a single SE reply while a thread to request for the ability to turn off ambient sound gets a reply on first page. Glad to see where SE's priority lies.
Your wife shouldn't have sold items for ridiculously outrageous prices that only people who buy RMT'd gil would be able to afford. It sounds cliche, but crafters who did that were asking for it. I have 50 BSM, 50 ARM, and 50 GSM and I've never sold things for ridiculously high prices, have many millions of gil, and was not suspended despite having many millions of gil. Why? Because people didn't buy my goods with RMT gil because I didn't put them up at unreasonable prices.
No way. A legacy player with millions of gil!? What a rare sight.
You should know better than most the cost of making lvl 70 gear. If a crafter on a new server spends days playing 10+ hours to become the first one capable of HQing some darksteel or astral stuff he should be punished?
People only start buying coke and other ingredients when they have all the (FAR cheaper) darklight they want. This means the first 9/18 ingredients that crafter buys will cost him over 100k each. At this point he probably has 1.5 million minimum. So you're telling me if he HQs something he spent over a million to try to make, and he sells it for a profit to other crazy people like himself who rushed to the end, he is asking to be banned?
The amount of short sighted dicks who condone the flippant banning of anyone who plays differently than themselves on this forum is staggering. I wasn't banned either but I haven't even heard of anyone getting banned on a legacy server.
Jealous people defending SE, when they can clearly see SE is in the wrong currently.
Those with a lot of gil got punished, while those with quite a lot now have more than we had to begin with, as they could still sell during the week suspension.
Is it their turn to be suspended? How long will this go on for?
We have the right to list items for whatever price we wish, people don;t have to buy them.
Most the items I sold to make millions were under 50k, most being around 5-10k.
Bad rumors are bad. I made my GIL legitimately and I didn't get banned. I have much more than the people who claimed that they were "banned".
I have crossed the elusive 10mil:confused: point sometime ago and I have yet to receive an auto ban or lock on mine account. Earned legit; I spend a lot of time crafting and selling on the markets, typically pulling over a mil a day, sometimes more if I want.
So, it would seem, SE more then likely looks at large 500k+ transactions rather then small 25k-50k ones: which is what I usually sell at. Though I am quite certain that at least a 10% of the gil I currently hold was, at some-point, attained from ill gotten means given how much bad money is floating around:mad:.
11mill+ and going up every day so far and no problems, hardcore crafter made my money mostly out Vanya and heavy darksteel especially on the weekends I can made 1mill+ is the demand is high on gear and mats, during the week I just sit on revenant toll and spam my services I can make from meld and crafting like 100k a day on commissions
The first wave of suspensions was on the 27th September, for those that had 8-10mil+ "on hand" on non-legacy servers.
Therefore you were probably below that when it happened, luckily for yourselves, but it may happen again..
it doesn't make any senses and SE need to pull their sh1t together is like saying every crafter stop crafting, stop selling your mats in the Ah and if you going to sell something sell it for 1 gill to a npc or you will be banned for selling in the Ah for a high price ??? wheres my freedom why I sub for a game that is threatening about selling stuff in the Ah ??? wtf if I go run cm 9 times and craft a vanya piece and put it for 9999999999 Is theres any problem ?
I've been a SE fan for years, until all this started happening.
Be as in-denial as you like, but this has happened and will likely happen again, unless SE actually look into it with actual GM's.
I like the game, but the Customer Support is very very lacking currently.
It needs sorting out badly.
I suspect a portion of the bannings where gil was lost probably fell in the area many people are not even thinking about and it has nothing to do with crafting or gil.
Another group and possibly the larger group were people that used the speed runs to make real money by selling currency to known RMT for cash.
Another smaller group may have been high tier buyers.
A couple of times SE announced of unintentional situations. Violation of those situations would result in an investigation, and possible banning or Account Rollback
2 areas I think this issue may have occurred.
1. AK had speed runs, after the announcement it was unintentional, people were warned to not do the speedruns/circumvent intended design or there could be consequences.
2. The boss (eg Chimera, Hydra etc.) where certain actions could be taken to cause the monster to freeze and then continue to kill it.'
Here is an example of 1 of those warnings, I am sure many did not take it seriously.
It was also later discovered people were doing the same thing for Titan.Quote:
This issue is currently under investigation. If a player willfully continues to battle an immobilized monster, the player will be in violation of the user agreement. The game logs of violators will be investigated, and those who are found to be in violation may be subject to punishment, such as a character data rollback or account termination. Please do not try to take advantage of this issue.
In the event that a monster is accidentally rendered immobile, we please ask that all members of the party leave the instance before re-attempting.
The combination of the 2 is probably what many of these people got lassoed into.
So their account got fully or partially rolled back. The banning was during investigation.
Bump just because.
Deleted, of course. As with the prior mega-thread. This one is likely to go soon as well. As if that would stop players from posting about it and starting more and more threads? And wouldn't attract people's attention. (...something something... censorship... something)
ITT: WAY too many people saying "Gils" - Gil is singular AND plural. Would you say monies? No, so don't say gils... FISH have gills, ffxiv does not. (Except pugils... they have gills but that has nothing to do with the game's currency.)
</rant>
Worst CS ever.
Bump - still waiting for answers.
Yes you would use monies as it is grammatically correct in reference to the plural of money. Gil is a made up word, So Gils could be correct ^_^
Also, agree it isnt hard to make money.
But, and a big but.
When you sell something to another player, whether it's directly or through the Marketboard. You are not creating money, it is just a transference of monies from the buyer to the seller. If you sell items to a NPC vendor then you are creating gil. Or when you do Leves, quests, dungeons that give gil. They are some of the methods to create Gil legitemetly.
The problem is, SE should have a good idea how much Gil could be created within a specific time frame. Say for example a crafter or gatherer is running around with 50 million gil in the first week and SE checked the logs, did the maths and came to the conclusion that only 20 million could have been created legitemetly. Then theres 30 million plus that has been created by illigitemate methods.
So STF suspends teh player with 50 million. The player with the largest amount of exploited gil and rips most of it away. Which brings the balance of the total gil more in line with their calculations of the possible Gil created in the time frame.
Sucks to be the one with 50 million. But, for the overall health of the game. Was needed.
My 2 cents.
