Yeah, they do. It's weird... they showed up in the concept art with the other races, but they aren't playable. lol
Maybe it was another ditched idea.

this whole thing is a big waiting game and it started when the game released 6 months ago...

I like the idea of getting the missing genders, but not as much as I'd like new races. Especially beastmen races. I would love to be a Goblin!!

Anyways, nice to see some progress on the missing genders. Though I myself don't care either way, I'm tired of dealing with Manqotes.

Yea I can't argue with you about that. When I get tired of dealing with XIV I just go do something else until I see patch notes. SE knows they can't just be idle so I still have faith the team is working hard.

If you want to make a game with a creative or inventive race of beings that posess no gender, only one, or more than two, keep your game hidden from Cairdeas, or you won't be allowed to have it.

(To be fair, the lore of FFXIV allows for these other gender options to exist. But Cairdeas was arguing for this long before that was even established.)

in FFXI, male mithra existed (in seclusion, but they existed), so I'd have been fine with them adding it. But not for the Galka, who are stated in the instruction manual to have "no specific gender" and are merely *treated* as males (most likely because of their appearance, sound of their voice, or other factors).

Similarly, I'm OK with it in FFXIV for that reason alone. But before SE started using the phrase "men and women," it was not OK.

I really hope we get a definite answer this time. :3 Character creation options did. Even if it was a "sometime in the future" kinda thing. They have plans for that. ... Come on Yoshida-san! Please?! :D

Just out of curiosity if they say they would think about adding them about 1 year from now if circumstances are favorable , would you stop playing and wait ? or reroll?.

If anything they could open a window of opportunity for players to switch races when new ones come out. However, I feel this should only be something for when new races come out, and not permanent. Also give a 3-4 day try out period, and if the player feels they want to return there old race, they can do so in 3-4 days.

Are you serious? You are actually using resources for this stuff right now? I'm not against this at all (female Roegs being rediculous and ugly) but the fact that they are actually addressing this at all with the game the way it is?

I think you are jumping ahead of the curb and assuming that they are putting races anywhere near the first in-line priority list. lol the forums are for bringing up discussions not only about present topics, but topics of the future, and once the game is "fixed" then things like races will have it's importance.
Besides I am one for discussion about a wide variety of topics, not just the same thing over and over. It gets me excited about whats to come.

Did you see anywhere in that post that they were going to add them right this second and screw everything else over? Cause I sure didnt, all he said is they were looking into it, so if they do decide to add them im sure they wont be added until much later, after the big issues get fixed.

Yeah because we've been asking, Neigh, Demanding they stop everything and work on new races RIGHT NOW. Or... Or.... Or I dunno what. But it wouldn't be pretty!

Those aren't the only options, so... neither! ^-^ I'm a person who plays more than one character, always having at least 4. I'm leaving space open for 2 male miqo'te just in case. :3 I don't see the point in deleting a character to make another when I could just have both. I understand that some people are willing to start all over again, but it's just not for me.
Though, if for some strange reason I could only have one character then I would start over as a male miqo'te, but have a friend help me transfer my favourite items over.

Great to see the dev team taking note of this, I am excited to see what they have to say. And yes to all the whiners, doesn't have to be right away, even 1 year/2 years down the line I would love to see this implemented!

No im pretty sure every extra character there is an extra fee, (similar to ffxi).So i wouldnt go crazy making every-race-toon personally.
And more races would be input when they are charging, so i dont see this as a viable option personally.Unless you are rich , then ill shut up.

I didn't say that there wasn't an extra fee per character. Just that I am willing to pay for more characters. SE had said that they would be $3 each unless I'm mistaken.
I'M not rich by any means. Quite the opposite, but I'm willing to pay for this game and a few characters. :x
It isn't a viable option for everyone. I do agree that it would be nice if SE offered a one time opportunity for people to change race if they add these in. Doesn't matter that I would have no use for it. Not everyone wants to pay for more than one character or start all over again.

This is probably why I like my female elezen so much now, but I'd easily make the switch to a male miqo'te in a heartbeat.

The hairstyles are decidedly lacking in mohawks.
And cornrows.
and all kinds of other hairstyles that tend to mesh well in fantasy/steampunk environments.

I really liked the one hairstyle hume females had that looked kind of like Payne's from FFX-2.
