I was able to get on. Then I had to mess with some graphics card settings and relog.
Apparently the last maintenance didn't do anything either. -.-

Lost all of phase 4 to 3102 now lost all of today to 1017. Come on Square how have you not gotten your servers down? You've ran "MMOs" for like what, a decade? 3102 was okay it was beta, regardless of the fact that players keep everything it was still a beta and I let it slide. Well now we are all playing something we paid for, and more then that we are the ones who paid for it ahead of time. We didn't want to wait and see how it turned out, we trusted that we would have a full game by release. Instead of following great game devs and pushing a game back until it was completely polished you pushed back and cut down on beta phases, accomplished very little during those and consequently have force your loyal customers to suffer. This is ridiculous. Fix this or in 2 weeks when people have to pay your outdated monthly fees people will flee, and flee in mass.

Did you learn nothing from your first attempt at FFXIV?

Ok, so far I've given up on the early access thing, weekend is over anyway...

Only thing I'm afraid of is how this will look like in the release date of the game (tomorrow). I believe they got a hell of a lot of fixing to do before this game will be able to handle the masses of people playing. Guess they underrated the success of the game...it's a shame because I see that people are already giving up on it, that's the worst thing that can happen to an MMO I would think (especially if that's happening even before the official launch)

So please SE, communication is the key here. Would even find it more acceptable if you decided to postpone the release date for a few days to get your sh*t together then to leave us unknowingly staring into the 'universe image' at the character selection screen...but please, CLEAR COMMUNICATION...

Same error almost all day. 1017 1017 1017. I will have nightmares with that error :(

other mmos are doing it : wow / swtor, a queue that says : 2h wait
that was the case a swtor, sometimes 2h30 as a queue when launched

that is a real queue system, players wait hours perhaps but in a stable server and knowing when

Out of the 20 hours I planned on playing, I got 1 hour...

Bring back the queue system. Taking that away is absurd!

Luck you!! I got 10 minutes wich I went to continue my THM main quest and got stucked at Black loading screen or Frozen character!!!

The queue system is working. I got it once with 13 people in it just before a 1017 showed up.

if they had a 20min afk log out, the people that logged in this morning and then went to work, well. this would allow others to possible log in and actually play.

G*D Damit, FIX YOUR SH*T Sqaure. I'm sick and tired of this 1017 bullshit. Early Monday morning after maintenance and I'm still getting this crap. except for a little bit on Saturday I haven't been able to log in at all this weekend. It's always the 1017 error.
This is bad business.
I pre-ordered the game so I would have the "early access" You have failed to deliver on that.

At least you can install your game and even get to the character section. I can't even do that. I am stuck at 14% install and the error I am getting 80029564.

As this happens in all MMOs shouldn't they have seen this one coming and being prepared for it? People are not getting what they paid for so I understand why they complain...

Just Create another character in JP. I hate waiting too for 1017 to come off. Instead of waiting play in JP.

I sincerely hope for SE's financial health that the Japanese players are capable of supporting this game as they are alienating the NA/EU base very fast. This type of issue could have been totally prevented by finishing a proper testing period.

SE severely under provisions servers for the European market and we're the ones that are stupid? Been playing MMORPG's ever since Ultima Online and seen some real launch horrors, but in recent years this game is very close from receiving the crown for worst one. Especially their removal of the queue. 2 hours queue's are extremely annoying, but at least you know where you stand and you can go watch a movie whatever, no queues mean you can either sit there try all night or don't play at all. Still error 1017 instead of a queue, like any SANE account system uses.... Official launch is tomorrow, even if you address this, it won't be fully tested unless you do it very very soon.

This is beyond annoying. I FINALLY convinced my partner to play an MMO with me, and he hasn't been able to log in for two days and now wants to quit already. GREAT JOB SE!!!!!! LRN2QUE

I'm tempted to suggest everyone who sees this and gets a 1017 instead of a login queue, tell your friends and guildmates to all switch to a server on the JP cluster. Maybe if they start having issues, they'll put some more people on it.

And if they manage all the extra traffic and DON'T have issues, that will tell you something right there.

But that was what Phase 4 was for...
Also, people did pay for early access, which wasn't really provided to most people.

Silver lining, next week when people give up and quit the game, servers should be relatively open.

Restore the queue system, I don't care how long I need to queue for at least I know I will be able to play in time and get more servers.

I'm totally disappointed with SE behaviour.
Half time of Early Access servers were down and everytime:

I'm coming back from work at the time when it's pointless to try log in. And I can't play the game i paid for. Yes they apologize. Do I care how they feel about it? No, I don't. I just want to play and certainly I don't need their problems added to mine. For 2 days of already paid time they are unable to do anything when they had months to deal with it. Not my fault they made Open Beta Test so hard to join and for 2 days only so they couldnt figure out how many western players will play.
What I need is actions, refunds and details on how they gonna make it work and how they gonna compensate my wasted nerves, time and money.

All very true but the best part is the "Please wait until an opening is avaiable and try again".
This means i shall be look out for what?

Someone leaving so i can take is place?
Make a sacrificial offering of a cat so the deamons of log in let me pass?

A queue at least can give us a time frame, i can deal whit that, not a totaly random event that might let me in because someone left or crashed.
