Perhaps it's because English isn't my first language but I don't see anywhere in that post where it says SAM is or isn't getting Kaiten back. The slide it's associated with has "PvE adjustments" in it too, so it's not like it's impossible. The only thing I'm reading is that they're saying they're taking in the feedback they got from 6.1 into account and not radically reworking jobs until new expansions, which is a good thing IMO? Jobs shouldn't be messed with radically during an expansion unless they're in awful states, but also on the flipside this means more of "don't like what they did to the job? Wait until 7.0/8.0/9.0..." but given the fact that they mentioned 6.1 specifically, it does seem clear they understand that their changes to SAM/NIN have pissed off a lot of people, so there's that.
I can relate to this, English is also not my 1st language. All I am getting out of the letter is pointless waiting with anything we post probably met with a response form another troll poster that won't be dealt with. I also take it they just didn't share more cause they were afraid of more backlash from more then just Samurai mains.
They made their minds up,
Stop putting assumptions & further press on as though they’re mistaken.
Move on
Hey looks like someone bumped up my thread to support my stance, but I can't see them. Well, thanks anyways!
For the one mini topic where they either mention or don't mention SAM in their digest, this is what I meant in my last post. It's ambiguous and there isn't any confirmation.
Hey what’s up!
Still waiting for the next live letter to actually say what's going on. As long as it remains ambiguous or not mentioned, everything is just assumption by the audience.
At least you’re reasonable & have good discernment
all these players care about is being on top of the dps charts they will dig themselfs into a hole and they will get suspended.
Samurais can still be on top of the dps charts now because the changes barely changed samurai's overall output, so you're an idiot if you think that these changes nerfed samurai. But hey, another failed troll, how exciting. Doesn't even know how the job was even changed or even offered a good opinion. Just more worthless garbage we can safely ignore.
I disagree.
SAM still top DPS? and the 6.1 changes met with overwhelming negative feedback? Might be a hint that it is a lot more then just about being top DPS. Here are some of the listed " Crap Changes " unrelated to being Nr1 DPSThe argument of " Who's top DPS " is overused beyond believe...
- Auto-Crit changes suck
- Our Hard Hitting skills now don't even hit Hard
- Execution of our Job became less skill-expressive
- AoE took a heavy nerf through Tenka Goken
- We lost a satisfying button and cool animation
- Tenka Goken shape change, I hate it
- Sam synergizes less in Crit Comps
To often coming from envious players, players who don't even Raid and just spew out that we are Top DPS without understanding, or players who don't know how the " Color Website " and charts even works.
Though I'd understandably understand if its all to hard and to logical to understand if you lack understanding of the game or our job.
Still not enjoying the new Samurai. At least we can all agree that it's bad. It's just a shame that Square Enix isn't open to listening to player feedback when it matters.
And yeah playing Sam feels super strange. I catch myself trying to press kaiten before every midare and higabana. It feels so super empty and scuffed without this single ability.
There literally is no irony in this. You can bring up dps to anyone who's complained about the changes and we can all acknowledge that samurai's dps isn't the problem. However, poorly worded garbage will get laughed at and mocked. As for you? You've had proof thrown in your face over and over that you're a troll too. Celeste even went out of the way to demonstrate it.
You again, are either willfully blind and trolling or incredibly stupid and trolling. Your post history is RIGHT THERE. Celeste even linked you a bunch of posts you put that are just "more than disagreeing". People have no problem with not liking the opinions of others. They do have a problem when you walk into a room, laugh at them, and troll them. So if you're so tired of it, then the best option for you is to simply leave. Pick one, buddy. I know which you'll pick though, but I still had to say it.
And what IS your opinion on these changes, or why you like them? Because apart from troll reasons, you've never even stated that. There, found something else.
You have failed to do so, on multiple times. Why these changes are good in the current time, what they could hope to expect for samurais in the future. You've insulted people, roleplayed being superior, pretended/feigned ignorance when confronted on your trollish/bad behavior. I've said my piece and the proof's on full display in that you've A) Failed to read the room and B) Presented good faith arguments in favor of your view point. Consider this the last response I'll give you, until you can demonstrate in the future that you can offer good debate. Because right now you're still being willfully ignorant, as well as any further responses from me will continue this cycle until I grow bored in which you can say you "achieved victory" on an online forum. Which if that makes you feel good and validates you, then congrats to you, I guess.
Don't forget, as I've said for the upteenth time, that your entire post history is there for us to read. There are no secrets here.
Man these phantom bumps are amazing. I don't even need to keep my own topic alive.
It's been pretty quiet in the JP side for OF specifically. Elsewhere well...there is a lot of toxic memes regarding the situation. Since they keep tabs on such places let's hope they understand how bad the situation actually is for all job balance.
Like I did say already, they pretty much did already verbal murder on the Japanese side too them for the Sam fluff ups they did since endwalker release. Japanese player are the most passionate about the game if I have ever seen a gaming scene and samurai has a massive player base there, like how can you do these changes, ask for feedback and then jut ignore it. It’s like healer pruning we’re they ask for feedback and just ignore it like what ???
Personally I found that jobs with complicated rotations like SAM, NIN, MNK and DNC (yes I think DNC is complicated) were outside of my ability to play well and BLM isn't to my liking either. I'm very used to RDM, DRG, BRD and PLD. Does that mean I want the other jobs that aren't to my liking changed so I can play them just as well? Of course not! If other people are able to manage those jobs and prefer them because they are complex then let them enjoy it. I'd rather my preferences were kept to a select few so I can fully focus on optimizing those jobs and having them geared instead of burning myself out gearing every single job at 90 to BiS and learning all their rotations. I don't NEED to be great at every job. And ok I can play SAM a bit better now and warming to it a little bit, but like 80% of the jobs on my character sheet as soon as it's 90 it's being hung to dry until the next expansion. I really feel bad for the players who enjoyed these jobs and played them as their mains and are now giving up on them because they've been changed so much that they're lackluster.

Anyone can mention that SE has different departments/teams for different tasks. But this entire list showcases waht they can do since 6.1 SAM changes for 4 months. Shocker to no one, it's a big GamingCompany. Yet, they can't address the feedback they requested from players. Not a instant fix btw, just an address or acknowledgement. Not even that... just " Silence "
" Remember us ", right was it?
Remember, that we once had our voices heard.
They don't believe there's anything wrong with samurai. That's the whole thing. Much as we'd like to think there is a problem with current samurai (there is, we can acknowledge that), the people SE don't believe so. They saw a problem, fixed it, and moved on. The backlash they got only got them not to throw in more hamfisted and terrible changes in the middle of an expansion, but rather wait until a new one.
At this point I expect SE to make an apology for the changes, but keep them in the game because they don't want to lose face - even though they know it's wrong to do so. They'll give us the promise of incredible plans ahead and "it's all going to be revealed at a later date".
It's what started WoW's downfall too, so I'm not surprised to see the cycle repeat itself.
That's most likely what's going to happen, yeah. Yoshida said that the 2nd LL would be to address and explain the changes, not talk about improving it. They think it's the right call to stick to them and hope that more weak excuses for them will make people understand their point of view more, and eventually forget about it in some vague hope that everything will be better in 7.0
you really enjoy throwing random adjectives out don't you
I agree, accompanied with no justifications for the unacceptable changes I'm sure of it. Though, some unlikely souls here would to the surprise of no one, say otherwise. Hehe, perhaps a individual that has changed their " achievements " very recently to private... I believe I touched a nerve hehe
" Opinions based off experience, has more likely validity vs less or none "
Thus if anyone happens to see " Very Valiant " frequent posters?

Open discussions, comparing takes viewable to experienced passionate longtime players, unbound by the FFXIV forum-format limitations. With a section for each Job including " SAM ". Thoughposh-wine-sipping-bs/poor takes, specially with lack of SAM or general PVE-combat experience, could be called out by countless experienced players. Unless calculated/factual scrutiny, isn't their cup of tea.
I legitimately don't understand why people who want the game to remain stagnant or become worse waste their time posting here. Congratulations! You are already getting exactly what you want.
The forum, and especially this thread, are for feedback and critique. Not for displaying your complete lack of standards.
A lot of people who play this game do not only want to not put in any effort themselves, they hate the idea that a player who puts in effort can get better results than them entirely. The most paradoxical element of this phenomenon is that these players almost never do any of the content where that effort matters and instead are content to stay in the content where the disparity of effort doesn't matter at all. You'll notice that no matter how much gutting the developers do to jobs to appeal to these types of players, they will simply never ever go into the content that SE is trying to corral them into, eliminating the point entirely and just making people who want to improve and think upset and frustrated. So they post here only because they enjoy the fact that they can gloat and taunt you because they got their way and the "toxic hardcore elitists" are upset. It's best to just ignore them, they have nothing of value to say and contribute nothing meaningful.
