PVP is pretty much just a substitute for the self-esteem boosters that we've robbed males of via the "trophy generation." A vast majority of PVP players are people seeking out a method to fill the void of masculine competition that they've been robbed of since sports have been watered down.

I....entirely agree. But you forgot to mention "compensation" issues and a failsafe system for developers in case they decide to be mediocre and say "PvP is a way for our players to create their own content!!!11!!1ONE1!!"

Honestly, the fact that they remade the entire game is impressive enough as it is. I'm willing to stick around and wait for those extra few months for them to finish up the implementation of new content. The Arcanist (and maybe more classes) as well as the new world itself should be enough to entertain us for the time being.
