These forums are weird

Yeah I'd agree it's an entertainment industry thing as a whole. Too many cultish fandoms defending bad corporate practice, plus like Theodric said, their funding is not entirely the product of market forces but being 'good' corporate citizens.

Ok strictly speaking a "small majority" does exist, but it does still refer to a majority and is not a minority. Small majority is just something like 51% where like, you're just barely a majority.

So the funny thing is, that dude saying "small majority" is, by stricted definition, saying between 51 and 55 percent of players are mad lmao

He said "tiny majority". Yeah i get your point. It does exist but he had to invent "tiny majority" because we all know the actual, not so tiny majority loved EW. Maybe i should phrased that about 1 thing there can not be two distinct majorities, both holding more then half of the people.

Yeah agreed, there can't be more than one majority. I find it amusing the guy couldn't think of the word "minority" which was probably what he meant, so instead he ceded majority explicitly lol

I mean the only time i go to the forum is when i get bored of the game so it's difficult to muster positivity in this state of mind, then again i'm far from being negative, maybe a little sarcastic but i think that's natural after 10 years.

One day it's, "We as the minority should have our voices heard too!" than another day it's "The majority of people are happy with the way things are, don't pander to the minority".
We can never tell which side is the minority nor the majority, only which is the loudest.

The general rule of thumb is to pick the most convenient one depending on the situation.

People love to act as the representitive of supposed majority for clout.
"A lot of people here offer citicisms/praises, and you white knight/haters don't speak for the playerbase."


When the tide turns, resorting to victim card is always infallible.

" Our opinions get silenced by toxic positivity/negativity"

You can then observe which side(or certain individuals) on the forum often deploy such strategies.

Im curious if any uproar/complaint on here has actually been looked into and changed for the better? To me CBU3 seems pretty set and content with their overall changes with FFXIV and I genuinely dont see them changing back at this point. So with this ongoing shift, real question folks should be looking into, "Is this game for me now?"

Viera and Hrothgar being gender locked playable races is something that was very poorly received and we've since seen male viera added to the game with female hrothgar promised to come at 'some point'.

Midlander men gained access to the stubble sported by the cinematic Warrior of Light after the request reached Yoshi-P himself.

There's certainly many common complaints that receive no acknowledgement or an outright dismissal but they do listen from time to time - especially when there's an uproar.

Of course they won't. But what else is there to do in this game? AFK and look at hot babes with their illegal mods on? Maybe if they gave us more content to play, we wouldn't have the spare time to turn these forums into a cesspit.

This is what happens when a company charges money for an abandoned game without giving us some closure. People feel cheated.
