1. It was requested as an "option" that people felt they couldn't live without.
2. It's being implemented as fanfare.

Those in support of adding jump as an "option" and/or because they couldn't live without have no right to oppose a toggle feature. Furthermore, it doesn't matter to those that aren't going to see it how it'd work; any attempt at opposing this toggle is blatant hypocrisy for those supporting the option to have jump implemented in the first place.

fanfare to what exactly? FFXIII-2 was the first FF game to ever have a jump mechanic. regardless my point still stands, Jump- whether we like it or not, is an MMO standard. I'm not against a toggle to turn jump off, I just honestly can't imagine how it won't look silly.

Seeing non human races ruins my immersion. Can I have a toggle that turns all roe/miqote/lala/elezen into hyur?

Fair enough i mistook your meaning.

Yeah I'm not a fan of those fences, but if jumping is added w/ no actual function as has been said then those fences might as well stand 100' tall. We shall see, because really at the end of the day i don't like emote spam of any kind and that's what jumps are shaping up as. Eh I'm gonna go waste some more time on not getting anything from Iffy now.

Can i toggle off the letter "C" i don't like that letter.

I didn't read all of the pages, but with jumping, couldn't we use it from jumping down from higher ledges or up onto a high ledge? Just a thought of how it could be implimented.

This thread is a pretty good example of why pandering to the WoW crowd is a great way to turn your game to shit.

I'm actually surprised they don't have this already, for the sake of performance, but that's a whole nother deal.
