In my own opinion, the game is not gonna be good, because it lacks of Originality, which is something Final Fantasy has always been good on, for how crappy some last games have been. This is My opinion, different from yours, deal with it and wait for people who support your opinion so you can be a family together =)

Thats my point you cant say the game will lack originality? Why cant a game have a pre established background and not be original. The fact that you honestly whole heartedly believe that even if everything was taken into account right the game would still be garbage shows that you never were and arent even upon to such a suggestion.

This tells me you lack thought into the subject.

Yes, about as much as winning a lottery. Company doesn't produce game with a chance as high as winning lottery to make profit.

Edited: You seem to have the cold hard facts that everyone agrees with you. You are one demograhpic. This website is one demographic. Not everyone here has the last say. I dont even have any weight with my opinions because I for the most part have no COLD HARD FACTS to back many of my statements. What it comes down to is that all this is, is a merry go round of blah blah blah because to be honest every argument for the most part has been based on opinions.

The fact that the game would even have a chance means that it is a viable option to look into. You and I cant say how much of a chance or weither it really should or shouldnt be investigated into without evidence, NOT OPINIONS, to back up such a claim. I get that the majority of FFXIV players on this site may not like the idea but there are many reasons this could be.

1. how many have played the series outside of ffXIV
2. how many games has said demogrpahic played of the series and what games?
3. What bad and good experiences have said players had with the company (I.E. Dissidea and btw you can argue that it was a good game but popular/majority vote argues against that)
4. etc. etc.

My point being is that no one that had an argument against the idea came up with a solid, "This is the reason it wouldnt work" statement.

That would take research and man hours.
Things to consider I have already posted.
1.money
2.time.
3.resources such as man power
4.demographic
5.competition (why ffxiv is failing)
6,staff
7.Future products.
8.projects in past that have attempted this same idea? (none that I know of, but does that mean its a bad idea? Maybe/Maybe not)

All the arguments I got were just cosmetic,storyline,etc. Those are all relative, again RELATIVE to the development team. If people were so freaking scared to try out new concepts and ideas there would be no variety and ground breaking games or technology.

If people are closed minded about things without considering both sides of the argument. (Which none of you have but me.) Then the world would be a dull ass place to live.

Then that's it! I like your idea. I want them to make a book, called Final Fantasy, where all the chapters of the saga will be taught to all the people who never had the chance to play the game.
Multiple Final Fantasy Characters and Worlds into one world, the world of licterature. Now that's awesome!

I guess it's that what you want. The chance to create a character and going into a building, called "The Final Fantasy", where you can go inside and play with the Final Fantasy games exposed with different consoles for each one. The player begins to play it, then suddently the building blacks out, the game you were playing is displaying a selection:

If the player chooses Yes, the game will start warping the character into a random level of an important event of that Final Fantasy, where the player will be able to interact with the protagonists and fight alongside them, keeping the battle system of that title. Once the mission is done, the character will disappear in pixels, returning to the real world with the same equipment as when he exited the world, having now two or three new consoles to play. Each game will of course have many chapters of the salient moments of the game.
Yes, that would be great, but don't you think that it's better if the players actually play the other games? That way is the only and best way to learn about the past games afterall.

Combat would differ from world to world they did not use materia in final fantasy 1-6. or anything past 7. FF5 had a job class system 6 used magicite, 7 used materia and 8 you used the Draw command to get magic.

Classes: The definition would change from world to world. because Paladin has only been in 4 and 11 ( also FF1 if you count the knight class and FF5 if you take the Knight class and have White Mage as its sub).

Dragoon Has only been in 4 and 11 ( 5 had a lancer that had jump, 7 had cid which the materia system made you what ever you wanted him to be and Jump was only a limit break ability, Freya in 9 had jump but I cant remember if she was a actual Dragoon and Kimari in 10 had jump but as an overdrive and he was more of a blue mage any way.)

Know lets do a little cosmetic.

Full old Knight like Paladin armor in 8 which is a more modern setting. Does this make sense to any one else?

Races would be all human. Why? Well I don't see a Bangaa or Dwarf in 7 or many other FF do you?

Each Final fantasy is its own story, lore, world and art style. ( yes they may have some creatures and jobs that are the same but that is it.).

If this is not enough to show you why it would not be a good idea. Then write a Fan fiction. Because I have seen many good reason on why this would not work on the is thread.

This is not a smoothie you can not blend different Final Fantasies to gather and have something yummy.

Most of points you listed as negatives i actually see as positive ones. Instead of seeing all content clustered, think that, assuming the game mechanics is flexible enough, you can actually let the player create an unique character based on the worlds (games) he pass by.

Think that you could, as example, while iin Vana'diel quest WSs that actually can SC (only ones learned there would), that you only could obtain materia gear at FFVII areas, that you canmake a pact to a guardian at FFVIII gardens that would offer you a set of actions and the ability to draw elements from enemies to pay these actions or to be used as consumable actions, or that you could go to coccoon and become l'Cie, then having the chance of generating your own eidolon or after clearing Ivalice scenarios you getting access to their races, etc.

You just need to think on this as a spin-off story. When she says about a crossover game i believe she meant a different story...like a "FFXIII-2" for every FF, where you would have a parallel story on that world, most of the time not even being related to the original game's plot...just like FFXIII-2 where the XIII PCs are just interactive NPCs and there are minor storyline connections other than background lore.

IMO this being good or bad would depend exclusively of the base game mechanics...if you have mechanics flexible enough to accept the mechanics from other games with just minor adaptations i do think it would actually become a pretty good game.

EDIT: This thread is completely off-topic... ^^: Let's use FFXIV as example too to pretend they are related...make you learn WSs that can combo at FFXIV areas.

If you have to fight this hard to make it work, chances are it won't. It's good to have passion for your idea but if your target audience(those with FF nostalgia) have no interest in it, your fighting for no reason.

You know why on kickstarter, Doublefines, Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun racks in millions? Because they are all very big names in the industry, with years of experience and fame to back them. At the other spectrum, hundreds of other projects attract very little funding and many did not get funded at all. If you believe your idea is so good, why not write to SE officially (not through forum) or have a Kickstarter project yourself?

I know there are system limitations, but I hope we soon get content that isn't in a cave or a ring.

I want to see something like a fight on two pirate ships for Leviathan connected by two boards. It could jump over the ships and force us to run to a certain one or the tail could pop on one side and the head the other, requiring both to be tanked or fought depending on the side its on or what weaponskill it's about to use. There is so much room for creativity, but circles and caves are getting a bit tedious.
